My gender identity is basically “cis enough that I’m cool with my assigned gender in the abstract, but ambivalent enough that my gut reaction to being asked about it in contexts where I don’t feel it’s immediately relevant is ‘and just what fucking business is it of yours?’”.

So I just got this text from my friend and even though she said that it's a dare I feel kind bad for saying no 😂😂 I tried to be polite about it tho. Like was this the appropriate response?? That response makes me think maybe it wasn't a dare...? I have no idea at this point

Too Young

You say that I’m too young for this. That we are all too young for this.

You say that our generation is too young.

Too young to have opinions on our president

Too young to have our own views on gun control

Too young to be LGBT

Too young to be depressed

Too young to be afraid of going to school

Too young to be nihilistic in the way that we are

Well guess what?

You’re right.

We are too young to have to deal with an aspiring dictator

We are too young to be forced to demand we don’t be shot in our schools

We are too young to have to deal with assholes like you who think it’s just a phase

We are too young to be developing mental illness, because of the environment we are growing up in

We are too young to hear a noise outside the classroom and prepare for death

We are too young to have to cover our sadness with needless humour
