This Scene Perfectly Captures The Feeling Of Watching Star Wars For The First Time.
This scene perfectly captures the feeling of watching Star Wars for the first time.
Something about Aftermath that I really love no matter how many times I rewatch it (or the series as a whole lol) is that extremely hopeful and excited feeling in the last scene. It’s nothing but potential, open roads and open skies. They can go anywhere, do anything, be anything. I know pretty much everything that happens after they shoot off into hyperspace by heart now, they’re going to face so much hardship and tragedy alongside all the good things, but that hopeful feeling never fades whenever I watch the stars in Omega’s eyes. The creators really make you feel everything she’s feeling about this new adventure.

Like they fucking nailed it.

Yeah. I, too, am sad Acolyte was cancelled. It’s a bummer and I don’t agree with Disney Star Wars either, after all the shit they pulled. This was a genuine and diverse show which tried to explore a new side to Star Wars. It wasn’t perfect, but it was charming and I thoroughly enjoyed finally getting a glimpse of the High Republic Era.
Still, all that aside, bashing others for not enjoying the show is not it. You’re not doing yourself or the fanbase wanting a new look to Star Wars any favours by throwing insults at people who didn’t enjoy Acolyte or the era. Get a grip, not everyone’s going to like what you like. Sure, there’s a whole subgroup of incels jerking it over the cancellation but don’t lower yourself to their standards by bullying and witch-hunting fans who simply have a different taste or felt like Acolyte didn’t feel like their Star Wars. The franchise’s been existing for several decades now and obviously people are going to be wary of new things, like the High Republic is to the multimedia aspect of it. This isn’t news, it’ll always be like this.
And for fucks sake, don’t go after Filoni, Corbett or any other Star Wars film/show directors. You can have issues with their work, okay, but don’t bash them over it just because you’re butthurt. I thought we were past that?
Please, remember to treat each other with respect. Thank you.
It's really funny how Grogu is the oldest of this group and Hunter is the youngest.

only right starwars trope
So I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this here before, but Omega holds and will always hold such a special place in my heart. She reminds me SO MUCH of my own little sister it’s insane, especially since they were basically the same age at the same time through the whole series and watching Omega and my sister grow up at the same time just makes me so emotional. During the epilogue I was a complete WRECK, not only because of the emotions of seeing Omega all grown up, but because I was reminded of the fact that my own little sister will be all grown up one day too, and just like Omega will set out on her own to live her own life. I’m actually about to cry as I write this.
I’ve written about Crosshair and Crosshair and Omega’s relationship and why those are so important to me (I relate to Crosshair way too much and their relationship is pretty much my sister and mine’s), but I’ve never spoken about why Omega herself is so special to me.
It's a low blow when Fennec, in "Bad Territory," claps back at Hunter and Wrecker about losing Omega; but when THIS exchange occurs -
Hunter: "Money's not everything."
Fennec: "That's 'cuz you don't have any."
- I have to giggle at Hunter silently turning away, because I don't think he was actually ceding the point.
No, no, I headcanon he was actually thinking "That's only because we haven't given in to Omega's pleas to set her loose for a day on Canto Bight. If we did, we'd end up with more credits than we could possibly spend in our lifetimes even after donating ninety percent of the funds to Echo and Pabu."
