Female Protagonist Videogame Masterpost.
This is a comprehensive list of games where the player character is female by default. This does not include games where you can make your own character and/or games with multiple protagonists of other genders, for that list click here. Alphabetical by title/franchise, only games that are currently available in English/English Fan Patch and no games that haven’t already been released.
If you know of any other games that meet the list criteria that aren’t on the list, please let me know. I know there are probably a lot of Hidden Object Games I’ve missed among others.
Content Guide:
Games with consensual sexual content/hentai (H).
Games with Girl pursues Boy romance/Otome are marked ®.
Lesbian/Yuri romantic content is marked (Y).
Romance with a non-binary character is labelled (N).
Games with one or more instances of rape will be marked with (Rape). I have removed games with extremely violent content (such as games entirely centred around rape and/or torture) or content of dubiously legality (underage sex, incest etc.) from the the list, but since I haven’t played everything on the list, somethings might have gotten thorough.
Genres:
(A) Action Adventure
(P) Puzzle/Point And Click/Hidden Object Game
(PL)Platformer
(RPG) Role-Playing Game
(S) Simulation
(VN) Visual Novel/Kinetic Novel.
(BH) Bullet Hell Shooter

There is no quality control on this list, there may be many bad and obscure games. If you want to know more about a specific game or where to find a game please drop me an ask, but I have not played everything here.
