All musical aspects discourse going on about the new Lorde album aside, but she shouldn’t have used the sounds of sirens and protests going on last summer for the BLM as background noise for a song that’s not even related to people of color’s social justice struggles or issues. It’s absolutely disgusting and tasteless of her to say she wanted her song to sound “the way that summer sounded” while she was hiding away in her studio or whatever. Black people’s struggles are not some artistic device to be monetized by already rich and detached white celebrities. I’m honestly extremely disappointed and appalled by her decision and her comment on it.

Zuiyin: a mark of sin that signifies someone's blackening/succumbing to heart demons
