I think Yoongi needs OC more than he cares to admit.. I don't know if love is the correct term, but obviously there are strong feelings. I would love to see his perspective of things sometime, but honestly this is a beautifully written series.

I understand we find out things along with OC, and the time jumps give us the necessary backstory to understand why the act the way they do in present time. I think he knows how much OC adores him, and even though he IS king he can't really act on his feelings for her. So he does the next best thing (for him) to keep her within reach (and hooked to him).

I mean, at some point he has to marry someone to have legitimate heirs and she's gonna have to put up with that. But what if OC ever became interested in someone else? I doubt he'd liked that. How will that mess with OC's head? She really has no future there, and even though she loves him whole-heartedly she's bound to get heartbroken eventually.. 👀

“What if we ditch the party and just stay here instead?” you proposed out of a sudden, turning your head to Jeongguk, whose eyes travelled from the TV in front to yours.

“Hyungs will be here in a few” he reminded you of your friends who were not willing to let you miss this particular party; or any party, for that matter. “If you can convince them not to make you go, I mean…”

“I’ll come up with something” you shrugged, leaning your head on his shoulder as you faced the TV once again, focusing on the show you had been watching from the sofa for about an hour now after having dinner, and smiling softly when you felt him lean on you as well.

“Why don’t you wanna go though?” he couldn’t help but wonder, for you not wanting to go to a party was not a very usual occurrence —yet a quite usual one whenever you were with him—.

Your shoulders moved up and down once more. “Just want to be with you” you mumbled simply, causing his heart to jump. “Honestly, I had wanted to stay in with you all along, but I thought Tae was going to the party as well and I wanted to see him,” you explained. “But he’s not going in the end, so…”

Jeongguk’s tongue poked the inside of his cheek at his loss of words. Although he had talked to Taehyung already and he said he would stay out of it, and although they had agreed on the two of you still being friends regardless of Tae’s feelings and he had claimed to be okay with it, he couldn’t help but still feel somewhat jealous at the thought of you and Taehyung. Well, at the thought of you wanting to be with him.

“So you only wanted to go because of him?”

You nodded, sitting up so you could face him properly. “There was something I wanted to talk to him about, and I wanted to do it in person,” you confessed. “But we kinda talked about it over texts and we’re cool, so I don’t think it’ll be necessary anymore”.

“Talk about what?” he asked again not finding it in him to just let the topic go, eyes going to his lap as his hands fidgeted on it.

“About us…” you said softly, managing to catch his attention.
