“Up.” Your husband whispers softly as he taps your right foot.

You cringe as your toes flex. Your gaze raises to the ceiling as your eyes screw shut.

It all happened so fast, once the adrenaline went away your feet began to ache and bleed profusely.

“Jesus, Kitten. You look like you took fucking lashings.” He whispers as he cleans your foot with hydrogen peroxide.

You yelp loudly at the sting before groaning as you grip onto the arm of the couch.

“I wasn’t even thinking about that. I just needed to make sure the babies were okay.” You mumble through clenched teeth as he picks a piece of gravel out of your foot.

“I get it. How’s peanut? She okay? All this stress is horrible for the baby.” He asks concerned, dropping the small rock into a shot glass full of alcohol. 

You put your hand to your stomach and snort gently feeling your daughter’s hiccups inside of you.

“Yeah. She’s alright, she’s got the hiccups.” You reply.

For the first time in a month you see your husband’s eyes light up. He leans in before pressing his ear to your stomach. 

“The hiccups are my favorite.” He whispers happily as his eyes flutter shut.

“So you going to come back to reality now? Gonna stop your self deprecating shit and be here with me again?” You ask as he kisses your stomach.

His eyes look up before kissing your lips softly.

“Yes ma'am. I’m all yours.”

3 Weeks til’ Casino Night 

Stepping down the stairs gingerly, you groan as subtle pain shoots through the soles of your feet.

If sharp pain sucks, subtle pain might just be as bad. It’s the slow thumping that starts to drive you crazy after a while. 

“Morning my favorite, most beautiful noona in the entire universe!” Jeongguk cheers as he rushes down the stairs to be beside you.
