Panicked, YN looks over at Taehyung. Surely his father must be lying.

“She’s messy, though,” Taehyung’s father says, “That’s no problem. You can train that out of her.”

Wedding tomorrow?! Training?!

A panic attack creeps up YN’s spine. She tries not to hyperventilate but isn’t particularly successful. All of her systems are in overload. She’s just moments from shutting down entirely when a cold hand is placed on her thigh. Taehyung squeezes YN’s flesh, the warning clear in his movements.

If she messes up anymore there will be hell to pay, she knows.

A maid comes to the table and quickly cleans up the mess YN created, another butler coming with a replacement bowl of soup.

“That sounds good to me, Father,” Taehyung says, not removing his hand from YN’s leg, “I can’t wait.”

“You’ll soon be ready to take over the gang entirely,” his father says, looking proud.

So that’s what this is about. He’s marrying me to boost his status in the gang.

And even though it's heartbreaking for her, she still puts up a strong front. I like her. Looking forward to see what's coming..

You had been in love with him, since the moment you understood what it truly meant to love someone. 

The engagement party was in full swing - people chattered around you happily, congratulating the supposedly happy couple - but all your attention was on him.

You watched him from across the expanse of people wedged between you both.  He leaned against the stone wall, observing, as he always did.  Arms crossed, dark eyes narrowed.  

You knew you probably shouldn’t watch him for long - that if he felt your gaze on him he would add it to the long list of reasons why he’d probably noticed you were in love with him years ago.  But you couldn’t help yourself.  He looked so handsome - so inviting - and you swore at yourself for still holding a candle to someone who didn’t see you as much more than an accomplice to his little sister.
