an activist in austin, tx was shot and killed last night(july, 25th) during a march in solidarity with portland. a man who was running people over and shooting from his car into the crowd shot him while he was defending his wife and others at the protest. his name was Garrett Foster.

Fanfiction gets a lot of hate in fandom communities (maybe not as much as it used to, but still) and I have to say this: I haven’t read a new fanfic in over 16 years, yet I still remember some of them in great detail. Some fanfics were better than the source material. You fanfic writers are some of the most eloquent, detailed, imaginative, and amazing people. You spend so much time on free content just because you love the source so much and that’s so amazing. If someone ever puts you down for that or if you ever feel self-conscious about your work, just remember some fanfic writers became published authors and some doujinshi makers became manga producers (coughCLAMPcough), so always keep doing what you love.
