Update On BTS Choose Your Route Story
Update on BTS Choose Your Route story
Thank you so much to everyone who responded to my last post saying that you would read it! I really appreciate it and it made me really inspired to work on it harder!
With that said, I have another question. I have the base of the story finished, and I was wondering if you guys would want me to wait and post the whole story all at once or just update the chapters and routes as I write them?

I’m super emotional right now because Jin is my bias in BTS, but Jungkook was my bias first And rn Jungkook is like that jealous ex bf and he’s trying to steal me back but I love Jin but JUNGKOOK IS—-

Deciding a bias

“Alright, we’re gonna need to play it up today,” Jungkook spoke softly to Chaerin after they had gotten through the front gate, “Taehyung and Nari seem to really be doubting us and we don't need to risk getting caught.”
Chaerin nodded in agreement, trying to tell her heart to calm down from hearing his words. Just because they were going to really act like a couple today didn't mean they were a couple…
But it made her excited to think about how close they were going to be today.
“And by play it up, I mean we almost need to be disgustingly sappy,” his voice pulled her out of her thoughts as she nodded in response again.
“I know,” she grabbed his hand and wrapped her free arm around his, “I’m determined to make Nari believe we’re together.”
Part of her was telling her that she should just tell Nari everything. It was the right thing to do and it would be easier for her to let go of Jungkook if she did that.
But the other part of her was selfish and wanted to spend the whole day being sappy with Jungkook. It didn't take long for her to decide which side she was going with.
“Chaerin!” Kiseung smiled and dragged Baekhyun over to the couple, “Omo you two have to come over to this tent! They have the best cotton candy ever!”
Chaerin giggled and started to pull Jungkook in the direction that Kiseung was running. Once they arrived at the tent, Jungkook pulled out his wallet.
“Which flavor do you want?” he asked as he got out a five dollar bill. Chaerin couldn’t help but widen her eyes.
“What? You don’t have to pay for mine-”
“Of course I do,” he laughed while placing a soft kiss on her forehead. Her breath stopped short as she looked to the list of flavors.
“U-Uh… Strawberry.” she answered as Jungkook ordered her a bag of strawberry cotton candy.
Kiseung just giggled at the two beside her as Baekhyun ordered a bag for the two of them. “You two are gonna kill me before this day is over!”
Chaerin thanked one of the staff at the stand as they handed her the bag. She smiled when she opened it and caught a whiff of the candy. “Omo it even smells amazing…”
Jungkook reached his hand in the bag and broke off a little piece. He was about to put some of it in his mouth but stopped to think for a second and held the piece in front of Chaerin’s mouth. Her eyes widened as she looked at the candy being held in front of her mouth. She felt her heart beating in her chest as she slowly opened her mouth.
Once the candy hit her tongue, she let out a satisfied noise. Kiseung wasn’t over exaggerating about the place; it really was the best cotton candy she’d ever tasted. “This is so good!”
“I know!” Kiseung turned to Baekhyun as they handed him the bag and she was quick to grab it from him to open it. He just watched her with a smile as she grabbed some and placed it in her mouth, “Baekhyun and I had this cotton candy when we went on our first date and I will never forget how obsessed we were with it.”
Chaerin smiled as Jungkook reached in the bag and popped some in his mouth. His face lit up at the taste as he reached back into the bag for more. Chaerin followed behind his actions, placing more into her mouth.
She was about to reach in again when her hand brushed against Jungkook’s. Despite having held his hand a few times before then, she felt her heart race at the contact. Their eyes connected soon after the contact and Chaerin felt her face burning.
He continued to look in her eyes as he sent her a charming smile. She sighed and felt a smile fading into her features.
She had no idea how amazing it was to be a part of a cheesy couple…
His eyes moved from her eyes to her lips as he seemed to be contemplating going in for a kiss. She was pretty confident that he wasn't going to kiss her, but when a hand raised to cup her cheek, his eyes stayed on her lips.
“Jungkook, we’re in public,” she squeaked out. Out of the corner of her eye she could see Nari, Hyomin, and their dates looking in their general direction.
It’s just for show since everyone's looking at us right now… she kept telling herself as she looked him in the eyes. Stop thinking anything other than that. None of this means anything.
“So?” he responded, bringing her out of her thoughts. She took a deep breath and felt his breath on her lips. She was going to regret this. She was so going to regret this.
Their lips met in a sweet kiss as Chaerin kept telling herself to stop. Not only did she need to get away from him for the sake of her heart, but they were in public! She hated when couples would do things like this in public, yet here she is kissing Jungkook.
His lips softly moved against hers for a few more seconds before he pulled away and smiled at her.
Oh my God why is he attractive? she heard her brain cry as she looked at his smile. She didn’t even know what to do or say, and she probably would have stood there all day if it hadn’t been for Jungkook pulling away to eat more cotton candy. This date was going to be the death of her.
“Did you see that?” Hyomin looked to Nari as they left their dates for the bathroom. “Did you see that moment that they just had? Why did they have a moment like that in public?”
“A kiss?” Nari laughed as Hyomin slightly whined.
“No, it was more than that! Did you not see the way the two of them looked at each other? It was like something straight out of a romance novel.” Hyomin rambled as Nari looked at herself in the mirror.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Nari looked to Hyomin in the mirror as she washed her hands, “they just kissed.”
“Just kissed my a**- it was almost magical looking! I’ve never seen Chaerin so flustered and so happy at the same time,” Hyomin leaned her back against the wall before moving some hair behind her ear.
“I’ve also never seen her so unhappy,” Nari added. Hyomin paused and watched Nari as she continued to wash her hands.
“Unhappy?” Hyomin raised her eyebrows, “Are you crazy? She’s practically glowing while around him.”
Nari took a deep breath as she heard her phone go off. After drying her hands enough, she glanced at her phone.
Tae: Careful what you say to Hyomin unless you want Chaerin to find out that we know something’s up.
She sighed and looked back up at her friend. Should she tell her or stay quiet about it?
She couldn’t help but have a bad feeling at the thought of not telling her. It was time to say something to one of them before this got any more out of hand.
“It’s hard to explain just as much as it’s hard to comprehend, so if you want to know I’ll try my best to tell you.” Nari gave Hyomin a look as the mood shifted to serious. Hyomin was growing concerned as she took a deep breath.
“What’s going on, Nari?” Hyomin leaned against the wall behind her. Nari turned around and leaned against the counter behind her.
“Jungkook is the successor to Shinhwa Group,” Nari started as Hyomin’s eyes widened, “and he has a marriage deadline. It started out as six months, but we’re almost half way through that.”
“What the h*** are you talking about? You mean that guy out there is super freaking rich and is the son of that uptight CEO of Shinhwa group?” Hyomin tried to not get too loud, but she was super annoyed and confused at the news. How could Chaerin not tell all of them this? Why was she keeping this a secret?
“He is, I swear. Taehyung is his friend, remember? I ended up finding out about it from him on our first date since we saw Kiseung and Chaerin on their first double date.” Nari continued explaining, “Taehyung and I have several theories on what’s going on between them, but none of them make complete sense. They seem both happy and fake at the same time and I can’t figure it out.”
“I know…” Hyomin sighed, “I know that Chaerin is happy. I can tell that she’s really happy with him… but I don’t know Jungkook. What if she likes him more than he likes her?”
“It’s possible,” Nari shrugged, “But as I said, we really haven’t been able to figure much out. I’ll explain more later… but right now we should go back to our dates before they think we’re ditching them.”
Hyomin slightly laughed despite the mood she was in, “Yeah. Mark and I just quit having problems, so I don’t need to start any more of them again just because of this.”
Nari began to walk out of the bathroom, “If you tell this to Mark, tell him to keep quiet about it. I don't want Kiseung finding out just yet because I know she’ll confront Chaerin. I’m not ready to let her know that we know just yet.”
Hyomin nodded and sent her friend a thumbs up, “Got it. I doubt Mark would tell anyone even if I didn’t tell him not to. The worst that could happen is him telling his friends, and his friends won’t care about it too much I don’t think.”
Nari and Hyomin made it out of the bathroom as they saw Taehyung and Mark were getting along just fine. They were actually getting along really well and the two girls were surprised. With a soft laugh, Hyomin started walking in their direction, trying to push her negative thoughts to the back of her mind.
The day hadn’t been too eventful other than them riding rides and playing mini games. All of the guys continuously played this one game over and over again to compete for the best score as all the girls sat back and watched.
Chaerin sighed as Jungkook glanced over at her and sent her a smile. She smiled back and waved as he waved back. Before he turned back around, he sent a short wink in her direction.
Her heart about died on the inside. Why did she actually have to fall in love with him? She should have told Nari- she should tell all three of them. The last thing she needs is to let her heart grow more attached to him than it already is.
But as she was thinking to herself, she didn’t notice a concerned Jungkook jogging up to her.
“Are you alright Jagi?”
There her heart was again. Did he have any idea how much power he had over her?
“Chae? ...Chaerin. Hello?”
She finally looked up at him as he frowned, “Oh. Aren’t you playing with the guys over there?”
“You looked like you weren’t feeling well so I came to check on you.” he bent down next to her, looking for a place to sit. He spotted a free chair and pulled it over to her table as he watched her friends coming back from the vending machines.
“I’m fine,” she tried to sound confident, but it didn’t come out as confident at all. She took a deep breath right before she felt Jungkook’s hand on her chin.
Oh God no, don’t make me look at you, she internally told Jungkook, but of course he couldn’t hear her and did it anyway. Their eyes locked as Jungkook’s concerned features tried to turn up into a smile.
“We can do something else if you’re getting bored,” he offered, but Chaerin just shook her head.
“I-I’m fine with this.”
Did I really just stutter? Really?
“You’re not,” he frowned as he moved an arm around her waist. Her heart both jumped and ached as her brain ruined the moment. If her brain kept ruining moments like this, she was going to depress herself. Why can’t she just enjoy it?
“Chaerin…” Jungkook sighed as he placed a short kiss on her cheek. Her heart began racing and aching again, only for it to feel even worse when he brushed his nose against hers.
She could almost feel her thoughts shattering her heart as his eyes met hers. Had her brain finally won? Was she finally going to stop this where it was before she dug her grave further?
She finally had a little bit of hope up until Jungkook’s lips were pressed against hers. Her brain didn’t even have time to react as her heart took over and she found herself sighing into him. The kiss didn’t last long, but those few seconds were powerful enough for Chaerin to melt in her seat.
He had her chained around his finger with no way to escape.
After he pulled away, he looked into her eyes and smiled. She faintly smiled in reply as she gave into him. Even her brain was giving in to him as she felt the war with herself was dying down.
But as she saw Jungkook give her a small thumbs up and a slight wink, her brain ran one last negative thought through her head.
This was a huge mistake…
“Chaerin,” Hyomin sighed as she watched Jungkook move back over to the guys who were still playing the same game. Nari watched Hyomin carefully as Chaerin and Kiseung looked in her direction soon after, “What made you decide you wanted to start dating someone?”
Chaerin took a deep breath as all eyes turned to her. She wracked her brain for any logical explanation that her friends would believe with no problem.
“Well when we first started talking it was just in a friendly manner at first. After a little while, I realized I started to like him a little more than a friend because he’s really sweet and caring. I didn’t intend to fall in love with him, but when he asked me out on a date for the first time, I found it hard to refused.” She felt satisfied with her story as Hyomin faintly smiled.
“That sounds sweet… Who knew something that simple could break you from your constant friend zoning.” Nari looked at Chaerin as Hyomin finished. Her story sounded genuine, but there’s no way it was.
What was it that she was hiding, and why won’t she tell any of them?
Nari was about to break down and straight up ask her, but as if Taehyung knew what was happening, he showed up with the rest of the guys following behind.
“It’s getting late and I know Hyomin and Kiseung wanted to ride the Ferris Wheel,” Taehyung smiled at the two of them as they smiled back. Kiseung couldn’t help but admire his looks, mainly because he looked so much like Baekhyun. She found it funny that Nari ended up with someone that looked so similar to her fiance.
Hyomin stood up excitedly at the news, “But we’re all riding separately as couples, right?”
“Of course,” Mark answered as he walked to wrap his arm around her, “Plus I heard Baekhyun Hyung say that he and Kiseung did that on their first date, and I assume they’d want to do it again.”
“You’re spot on, Mark,” Kiseung looked impressed as she shot Hyomin a joking thumbs up in approval, “We can ride it twice if anyone wants to ride it as a group?”
Everyone stayed silent for a few seconds before Nari spoke up, “I’m fine with riding it as a group as well. It’ll give us a little more private time for all of us to talk to each other.”
Chaerin started to tune her friend out as she looked over to Jungkook. He had been very quiet and distant since he came back, and she felt slightly worried. Maybe Taehyung said something to him that put him in a bad mood? She felt a frown form on her face before trying to wipe it away. When she saw Jungkook’s head turn her way, she tried her best to pull of a genuine smile.
Nari watched Chaerin and Jungkook as they looked at each other before she felt Taehyung snake an arm around her waist. She felt her face heat up as she moved her eyes to look at his smiling face. She smiled back as he placed a soft kiss on her forehead and started to guide her out of the area.
“Come on, we need to catch the line before it gets long again!” he smiled back to the rest of them as they all followed behind them to the Ferris Wheel.
It feels nice to be active again ;w; Also, I’m posting a Hoseok oneshot hopefully later today, so be on the look out for that! o;
