The events that followed left more then a sour taste on her tongue. She was forced to follow along Kaname and Aizen as they turned away from the arrancars--but when Aizen left, she made sure to talk to Kaname on his sense of... justice. No, what he did was much more perverse, and his sneered, defensive response was just as irritating. She could still recall Grimmjow's own stormy expression, and the blood that had flown from Kaname's blade to the end of her skirt. The only thing the hypocrite of a man offered an apology for.

She had asked Aizen what he was to do with her now mutilated guard--and he had only smiled, reminding her she was more than safe in these castle walls. Asshole.

Her steps were brisk and she was roaming her way down the hallway to her so-called room. Her gilded cage, always re-enforced with the honey-covered promise of security. Her blood as a maiden an allure to the creatures within these very same walls.

She saw the blood trail as she walked, and her previous irritation wavered, replaced with... worry. Grimmjow was as aggressive and bestial as any, or arguably worse---but he wasn't without reason. Without rational in the time she's been kept under his vigilance. When he had his unit, none had ever dared to lay a claw on her... She found her feet moved her faster, fluttering her gown as she rushed around and eventually found him in the most remote of areas. Dangerous. Risky... But.

❝ Grimmjow. ❞ She caught her breath, and tentatively approached knowing he'd be upset. Her gaze shifted to his arm, or lack of and how it bled. She knows not to test his ire or pride but---frowning, she moved closer, a dim glow on her eyes though her gaze softened. ❝ Grimmjow, let me heal your arm. ❞ Regardless of how angry he'd get, or if he snapped on her--she'd replace it, heal it. It would infuriate Kaname, who foolishly bought Aizen's ploy, but she couldn't abide from how he lost it. The dishonor.

His eyes lifted to see the young woman that had walked in his path, her voice was just as soft as the tune that left his ‘flute’, quite a soothing tone as he couldn’t help but face her with a smile present upon his face. Ah, the days he remembered actually being a samurai..or perhaps one in training as he’s never officially arrived at the title of a samurai though he was somewhat trained in the art of swordsmanship. “It’s really no problem, in fact I’m rather flattered that my tune was something your ears could enjoy.”

Slowly his fingers release the leaf, allowing it to drift within the wind’s embrace, until it falls into the body of water and gently floats a drift. The woman before him was beautiful..her skin seemed rather flawless that he surmises that she couldn’t just be just another commoner. These were things often missed but with Kazuha’s keen senses he could definitely sense, smell something that definitely differentiated her from the common maiden, but of course it wasn’t his place or secret to spill. “My name is Kazuha and I’m pleased to meet you. I take it you usually come out here so far from the town.”

He had a pleasant voice, soft-spoken, and well-mannered--unlike the seldom more rougher-talking swordsmen she’d seen before. She watched as he released the leaf in his hands, letting the wind carry it as it drifted down into the stream nearby. He had a very gentle air about him, she thought, offering a civil bow in greeting as he introduced himself. ❝ My name is Nayo.❞

❝ I help gather bamboo shoots from the grove nearby, it’s for our warriors who help safeguard the village. ❞ It wasn’t a lie, technically, as she had helped gather such things with Menowara. ❝ If you’re hungry and need some shelter, we can welcome you. Please, I’m sure you could do with a warm meal, hm? ❞ And perhaps, he could share insight of news outside their own borders. Motioning him to follow, she set them along the familiar path and instantly heard the sound of children calling to her. ❝ Onee-chan! Nayo-Nee-chan! ❞

Four circled around her, three boys and a girl, quickly gathering around her waist in greeting. She chuckled, smiling at them, ❝ Ara, such an energetic bunch. I hope you didn’t skip your chores coming to see me. ❞ The boys grinned cheekily, ❝ No! We gathered lots of stuff. ❞  The more timid girl tugged her sleeve, ❝ Nayo-nee-chan, whose this? ❞ Kaguya’s smile turned sheepish, ❝ Ami-chan, its rude to point. This is a friend, his name is Kazuha-san. I thought he could do with some bamboo-shoot soup. ❞

One of the boys brightened. ❝ Oh. My pops makes the best soup! You gotta come to our place. Follow us! ❞ The children cheered for soup, racing ahead just as they passed some guards who stood vigil. They glanced at them, but only nodded as Kaguya guided Kazuha within the village. It was a well-flourished village, no one in passing looked desolate or poor upon a surface glance. Homes were sturdy, but there was construction being instructed both by the gate and some area’s as they walked on. Kaguya sighed, ❝ Due to the tensions rising, our village leader has insisted on fortifying the village defence with watch-towers, so I’m afraid you’ve arrived when work is still to be done Kazuha-san. ❞
