THIS! This Is EXACTLY How I Picture Them In My Head Too!
THIS! This is EXACTLY how I picture them in my head too!đ©đ
I often see canon Holmes and Watson's default state pictured as

but what I read them as, is rather

and I think that's a lot funnier

Didnât even think of this way, I love it so much!đ

Shoscombe pt 2
No prob!đ
Iâm on a HUGE hyperfixation for Sherlock Holmes right now and ended up watching Moffatâs Sherlock just to see if the hype is worth itâŠitâs not. I barely got through season 1 and it only had THREE episodes! Itâs on sight with Moffat.đ€Ź
But yeah, podcast John grows on you over time. Heâll still be awkward, but you almost get used to it. I love that John is aware of Sherlockâs accommodations and the show doesnât make outdated offensive jokes at the autism community (again Moffat, f*ck you). Greatest part is that John just doesnât make a big deal about it! As someone with autism I always feel weird about my sensory issues, but Iâll tell my friends and theyâre just like âyeah thatâs understandableâ and then we go on with our hangouts together! So I can imagine how much it means to Sherlock that John is aware of what he can and canât handle.
Listening to Sherlock and Co
It's good, the writing is really solid, the humor is cringe sometimes, but mostly it's John that's cringe
He is such an annoying whiney little bitch sometimes, not a bad written character, just if I knew him in real life I would want to punch him
Anyone else feel this way ??
The Three Students Pt. 1 (SPOILERS)
Alright, pt.1 reaction notes letâs get started!
Ooooh okay, sneak peek at what's to come for Sherlock! Very interestingâŠ
I knew I KNEW Archie was gonna be âin troubleâ for this episode based on the patreon newsletter!! Honestly good on John for having a whole Sherlock-esque deduction monologue about Archie being guilty (unfortunately heâs rather wrong later on)
Oooh so thatâs how they end up at Oxford! Because Sherlock was asked to be a speaker! Good for him
I so get the huge difference between speaking publicly because you have to vs getting really into talking about your special interest. Same Sherlock, I getcha.
âAutistic man turns down offer to speak to room full of peopleâ ngl this is a MOOD (as an autistic woman myself!)
LESTRADE MENTION!! John is so right in saying Lestrade would be putting in a lot of work to let people like Sherlock (consulting detective - not a CERTIFIED one), himself (doctor from Swindon), and Mariana (accountant from Sociedad) legally take on serious criminal cases so itâs only fair Sherlock returns the favor for that.Â
Sherlock, you framed the DOG for your crimes! Youâre a good consulting detective but an unhinged criminal
John youâre SO SALTY over Spainâs victory in the Euros, YOU get over it!
âNerd alertâ, âGot half a mind to give you a wedgieâ of course YOUâD be a bully jock John, why am I not surprised?
Cracked open a beer already? Played Madonna late into the night? John, are you okay??
Oop, Mariana lore?Â
I weirdly find Johnâs little chuckle cute when heâs asking Mariana what she did
Mariana, you did WHAT?? John no, that was NOT a âgoodunâ!
JRR TOLKIEN MENTION!! Been a huge Lord of the Rings fan lately
John, youâre a little TOO excited about a pub being thereâŠ
âWankfestâ? John you said that in the same sentence as Sherlockâs speechâŠ.the speech sounds fine for now but my gutâs telling me the final draft is gonna SUCK
âSherly senseâ John I both love and hate you for that
Okay but shoutout to Adam Jarrell for having a BLAST with that voice acting! I certainly found it delightful
And there it is! Sherlock, you will find yourself in the middle of a case ANYWHERE
I'll say this: I love how this podcast takes the classic acd cases and reinvents them to make them make more sense in the modern day setting! The irony of a mysterious crime being committed for a Criminology controlled assessment is perfect, and honestly a step up from the original being about a Greek exam.
Sherlock: âI will take on the case, you have my word that-â Soames: âWhat about the speech?â Sherlock: ââŠI forgot about thatâ, Sherlock why do you do this to yourself?
Oh JohnâŠyouâre gonna become a frat boy, arenât you?
HE IS!! JOHN YOU MESSY PERSON (I still love you <3)
Drunk John calling Mariana âMrs. Hudsonâ is cute to me for some reason
VODKA?! Oh he was PARTYING partying. John, why do you do this to yourself??
Oh no, poor Sherlockâs nervous!
And thatâs all for part one! I REALLY really like when the podcast reinvents classic cases to have it make more sense in regard to the realistic modern day circumstances like why theyâre ACTUALLY there and what case coincidentally comes up for them to solve! Also guysâŠIâm kinda getting worried for John. Dude hasnât been sleeping well in the last episodes and now the alcohol is becoming more frequent for him. Am I the only one on this??
âđ»âđ»
(This is me! I am both the Watson that listens to my friends go on about their hyperfixations, while also being the Holmes seeking out my own Watson to ramble on about my obsessionsđ„Č)
Need to find me a watson so I can talk about my special interests and they will listen and get impressed by the knowledge that I hold of my hyper fixation
The Lion's Mane Pt. 2 (SPOILERS)
Alright part 2 notes, letâs jump in!
Oooh, Fjaraâs got a small-town myth! I like it when towns have local legends and history that theyâre proud to talk about, like when certain towns are known for famous cryptids!
Same John, I too would react the same way about whiskey (Iâve never even had it)
Once again, I love hearing John go into the logistics of injuries the victims acquired before they died by just examining them. Always here for the Dr. Watson content!
Sherlock wants to go in a submersible! Great that he had a pamphlet ready to goÂ
3,000 POUNDS?! Sherlock, Mariana has every right to not find that âlovelyâ!
Sherlock: âWhat are you afraid of?â, John: âDeathâŠsharksâ; of course youâd say that John you Jaws fan
Maudeâs family is quite a powerful empire on the islandâŠinteresting
Sherlock with his trousers rolled up walking around the rock pools holding a childrenâs bucket and shovel is fan art I need to see NOW (itâs like Sherlock in the swing all over again)
Sherlock: âEven a best friend isnât immune from a physical assaultâ, oh shit John watch your back I guess
John and Mariana freaking out about making up a story on the fly is hilarious
Interesting how Mariana would, in some way, believe in the myths. Her and I both have the same fascination with how people in ancient history would use legends and myths to explain the unknown before they did their research and found their answers!Â
And a VERY dramatic cliffhanger to finish off the episode!
Okay, now weâre getting somewhere with the case! Very much a full investigation episode, getting all the facts about the island and the people around it. Interesting how Maudeâs family has a much bigger part in the whole case, yet you can tell that she genuinely wants answers for what happened to Harry. Speaking of answers, we wonât get those until the last part next week! Stay tuned
