Jaehyun And "I Remember Practicing How To Ask You Out To The Mirror. Plz
Jaehyun and "I remember practicing how to ask you out to the mirror.” plz 💞
Jaehyun was an acquaintance, you would say. You were both majoring in the same area, had several classes together, and you talked sometimes, but that was all. You certainly didn’t expect Jaehyun to be your knight in black-and-white plaid on a day that started out sunny, but turns to a heavy rainstorm and mucky pathways around campus.
You sigh and look out the door of the building. Your next class is halfway across campus, you don’t have an umbrella, and as one boy comes slipping through the door, bringing a gust of cool, misty air with him, you curse your past self for not grabbing the umbrella beside your door at home.
You consider skipping your next class, waiting out the rainstorm here in the safe and dry warmth of this building, but you have an exam that you really can’t miss. So you take a deep breath, open the building’s door, and step out into the cold rain.
It hits and you freeze for a second, closing your eyes, and that second is just long enough for the rain to miraculously stop.
“Forget your umbrella?” A voice asks behind you, and you turn to see Jaehyun standing right at your elbow, a black-and-white flannel hugging his broad shoulders, and when you look up, you see he’s holding an umbrella over your head. “Where are you headed? I’ll walk you.”
“Th- The science building.” You shiver as the two seconds of the downpour you’d had to endure soaks through your clothes. “You don’t have to, Jaehyun. If it’s out of your way, I can--”
Jaehyun shakes his head. “I’m done with classes for the day. I was just going to walk over to the library to study for a bit. I can walk you, it’s no problem.”
So you nod and thank him, sticking close to his side as the pair of you set off toward the science building, chatting about the classes you share, about an event being hosted by your department this coming weekend, about how annoyed you are that you forgot your umbrella today of all days.
“Yeah,” Jaehyun nudges you with his elbow. “But at least I was here. Lucky I’m heading to the library to study for the exam next week instead of just heading home.”
“Ugh, I don’t want to study for that.” You groan as you approach the science building at last. “I still don’t entirely understand one of the concepts, so I’m sure I’ll do terrible.”
“You could always come study with me. When are you done for the day?” He looks up at the science building’s windows glowing through the dull rainstorm. “If it’s still raining I can come pick you back up with my umbrella. We could go back to the library, and I understand most of what we’ll be tested over pretty well, so maybe I could help you? If you want.”
A stray drop of rain splatters against Jaehyun’s cheek and starts to drip down, and your eyes follow the movement. Your fingers itch to reach up and wipe his cheek dry again, but before you can make a move, Jaehyun does it for himself. You really could use the help studying, and the help staying dry in this rain, so you nod.
“Okay, sounds like a date. Meet me back here in an hour?” You ask.
Jaehyun nods, his eyes watching your face closely as his throat bobs nervously. “A date?”
“Mhmm. A date. I’ll buy you coffee if you help me study.” You didn’t mean a date at first, but as soon as you saw his reaction, you realized that yeah, you did kind of want a date with Jaehyun. “We can grab some dinner too.”
Jaehyun smiles then, sighing in relief. “A date.” He nods. “That was easier than I thought. I remember practicing asking you out to the mirror shortly after we first met, but I’ve always lost my courage when it came down to it.” He laughs a little. “But you just out and ask me on a date like it’s nothing.”
Your phone buzzes in your pocket, a reminder that your class starts in five minutes. “I’ll see you back here in an hour?”
Jaehyun nods, and as you step out from under the cover of his umbrella to run the last few feet to the building’s door, you feel Jaehyun’s fingers brush the back of your hand, and you swear you feel his touch burning against your skin for the entirety of class, like a good luck charm and a happy memory all rolled into one.

jaehyun + "I'm so in love with her/him, I don't know what to do."
You were pretty sure you were still supposed to be asleep. Jaehyun had gotten home really late the night before, and you’d stayed up for hours and hours talking. He was jet lagged from being on the other side of the planet, so he wasn’t tired at all when you finally crashed in the middle of a sentence.
But now it was the next morning. Late the next morning if the empty bed and amount of sunlight pouring through the window of your bedroom were any indication.
The sheets beside you were still retaining a little of Jaehyun’s warmth, so you knew he couldn’t have been gone from bed for too long. You wish he would’ve stayed.
This relationship with him wasn’t new necessarily, but it was going slowly. The start had been fast — a rush of emotions, passion, barely able to keep your hands off each other — but when you both decided to take this seriously as more than just having fun, things slowed down. Partially because of his schedule picking back up with appearances to make all over the globe, but also because there was things to untangle and discuss and much more to having a relationship than just being in it.
That being said, you and Jaehyun had been together for months now. You’d often shared each other’s bed, seen each other in weak moments. You’d met his parents and he’s at least made the attempt to see yours. But neither of you had said that thing, the big L word. Sometimes you wonder if that’s where this relationship is leading or if this just something Jaehyun’s doing to pass the time, to feel like he’s getting the affection that he needs.
You know that you could be the first to say it too. But you’re scared. What if he doesn’t feel the same?
Any time you’ve confided these worries in your friends, they all tell you that you’re being utterly ridiculous. They tell you that Jaehyun is clearly in love with you; it’s obvious in the way he looks at you, the way he touches you and talks to you, the way that he’s so considerate of you and your feelings, how he compromises and knows your favorite things and will take the time out of his very limited free time to travel across the city to spend that time with you.
But sometimes you just wish that you could have him for a little longer. Maybe it’s selfish, but you love him. You really do. And is it selfish to want to spend more time with the person you love?
You climb out of bed, and walk quietly toward the door, your toes curling against the cold floor.
The bedroom door is half-closed, and as you reach it, your heart rises in delight at the sound of Jaehyun’s voice quietly speaking out on your sofa.
“I don’t know, Mom. I’m so in love, I don’t know what to do.” He sighs.
You angle yourself so you can see him through the opening of the doorway. Jaehyun got his knees drawn up to his chest, his phone cradled against his cheek. You can hear the tiny sound of his mom responding, though you can make out any of the words.
“I know, but we haven’t said it to each other yet. What if I’m the only one feeling this way? Like we talked for hours last night when I got home, talked about everything except for how we feel. I just want to hear ‘I Love You.’” There’s the slight sound of something from his mom, and then Jaehyun laughs, his nose crinkling up the sides, and he says, “Not from you, but I love you, too.”
You smile and rest your head against the doorframe.
Once again you can hear the sound of his mom talking to him through the phone, her voice so tiny but making Jaehyun smile so brightly. So you stand there to watch him for a little while longer.
Jaehyun’s smile is one of the first things that drew you to him. You love his smile and his dimples, the way that he laughs with his whole chest. You love his voice when it gets really soft and sleepy, but also when it’s rough and deep. You love Jaehyun. Every bit of him that you know and all the bits that you don’t yet know. You love the way he talks to his parents, how he plays with kids, how he loves so intensely, how he loves and appreciates everything his fans have given to him and done for him. You love this moment and the last and whatever will come tomorrow and.... and...
You have to sneeze suddenly and there’s no way you can hold it in.
“Achoo!”
Jaehyun’s head snaps up in your direction, his eyes landing on you. His mouth pops open in surprise. “Mom, I’ll call you back later.”
Feeling just a tad guilty for eavesdropping, you step out of your bedroom and walk over toward your boyfriend.
“How much of that did you hear?” Jaehyun asks, opening his arms for you to sink down into his lap and rest against his chest. It’s not fair how warm he is and how nice he smells right now, but you settle in to the safety of his arms anyway.
“I was only standing there for a minute.” You say the words with your cheek pressed to his chest, so you can feel his heart racing. “Was that your mom?”
“Yeah, she wanted to see if I made it home alright after the flight. I told her I did, I was here with you.”
A flutter starts in your heart that spreads warmth down through your limbs, sending a smile to your lips. “I’m glad you came home.”
Jaehyun’s heart races still beneath your cheek. You can almost hear the words in each beat before he even gives them air. “Can I tell you something?” He asks as he touches your hair lightly.
“I already know.” You lift your head from his chest so you can look into Jaehyun’s eyes. “You’re my home too. I love you, Jaehyun.”
His gaze softens, his touch more tender. “I love you, so much I don’t even know what to do.”

Disapproval Part 2
Part 1
Ace
It was a long time before you were alone again. You and William spent the rest of the day together, and he brought up your encounter with the pirates to everyone you ran into…minus the kiss he had seen. And every time the story was told and the people spoke of how dreadful they were, you hated this island and its people a little bit more.
Whitebeard and his crew protected your island from the horrors of the Grand Line. Whenever you needed aid, the Whitebeard pirates were the ones to answer. And yet behind their backs, the people on this island acted as if the pirates were the scum of the earth. Some people, like William’s family, said it to their faces.
You were pleasant through dinner. You smiled when stories were told. You spoke when you were asked a question. But your mind kept wandering back to Ace. To the pirates. They were really the only people you were ever excited to see, and the only ones who ever showed excitement at your arrival.
And it wasn’t just Ace. Everyone in his division was kind to you. On the rare occasion another division was sent in Ace’s place, the leaders always sought you out and delivered a message. You weren’t just another face in the crowd to them. You were a person.
When William finally bid you farewell with a kiss on the cheek, you retired quickly to your room. And once you were alone with your thoughts and all you had lost today, you couldn’t help the tears falling down your face. You weren’t even able to make it to your bed to muffle your sobs with a pillow before they began racking your body.
“Bit of a weird reaction to spending the day with your betrothed.”
You spun on your heels toward the voice. You could only see a silhouette, but you would know that voice anywhere.
“Ace-” your voice cracked as you spoke his name. “I didn’t want you to find out like this.”
He shrugged, but you could see the pain in his eyes as he stepped out from the shadows. “You always said you were going to move on if I kept leaving you behind.”
“I’m sorry,” you whispered. Tears were already reforming in your eyes. Your chest ached for his touch again, but you resisted the urge to step closer to him.
“Do you love him?”
“He’s a good man. He’s kind and loyal and always looks out for me” You couldn’t look at him as you said it. It felt wrong speaking about William here. You didn’t want to think about him now.
Ace stepped toward you and reached out toward you, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear. He held your face in his hand, forcing you to look at him.
“Do you love him?” he asked again.
“I-” You tried to avert your gaze, but he held your chin firmly, forcing you to look at him as you answered his question. “I think I could, given enough time.”
Pain flashed across his face again, but he quickly recovered. “Do you want that?”
“What?”
“Do you want to love him? To marry him?”
You weren’t sure of the answer. Especially with Ace here in front of you.
“I have to marry him,” you finally said. “My parents need me to do this.”
His eye twitched for a moment, and you could feel his hand warm against your cheek. “What do you need?”
“You.” The words were out of your mouth before you thought to change them.
That was all he needed to hear. His lips came crashing down onto yours, passionate and hungry. His warmth enveloped you like a summer’s day. You only wanted him. You would only ever be his. Nobody else mattered at this moment.
“Sail away with me,” he whispered, his fingers already tangled in your hair.
You simply hushed him in return, trying to find his lips again.
He indulged you with another kiss, this one longer and slower, as if he wanted to draw it out for as long as possible. As if he wanted to remember it.
This was a goodbye kiss.
“Ace-”
“Sail away with me,” he offered again, his lips caressing your jawline.
“You’re serious?” You resisted the urge to laugh. He couldn’t be serious, could he?
“I’ll go if you want me to.” He kissed your neck once, then twice, slowly moving toward your shoulder as he spoke. “Just tell me to go and I will leave you to this life. I won’t interfere anymore.”
You whimpered in response. This couldn’t be the last time you ever saw him. You needed him as much as you needed air. Your heart waited for him on that cliff every day, praying he would come back whenever he could. The very whisper of the Whitebeard pirates returning could turn your whole day around.
“Or you can come with me.”
“I can’t.”
“You could.” His lips pressed against your collarbones as he said the words.
You considered it. Being free on the ocean. The only thing to worry about was where you would go the next day. Having people around you who actually cared about you. Being with a crew loved you for who you were, not who they wanted you to be.
“Okay,” you sighed, already seeing your new life play out before you.
Ace grew deathly still, only his eyes flicking up to meet yours. “Okay?”
You couldn’t look away from him. “I’ll go.”
He stared at you, refusing to believe it was so easy.
But your mind was already pushed into high gear, trying to think of everything you would have to do before you left. “My parents will never let me go, so we’ll have to sneak away. I’ll have to write them letters. And I’ll have to write a letter to William. And pack some of my belongings.”
You pulled away from him and moved to your closet, planning what to take and what to leave behind. You had a few bags you could pack. Between you and Ace, you were sure you could carry it all.
Ace stood in the center of your room, watching your whirlwind of preparation as you shoved things into bags and weighed the value of your items.
“Wait.” He finally said. His eyes had never left you.
You glanced over at him as you packed up a few shirts. He looked dreadfully pale, and your heart sank. The question he had asked was in the heat of the moment.
You froze, watching him closely. “You weren’t being sincere in your offer?”
“Of course I was!” He rushed to get the words out. “You really want to go?”
“I do.” You went back to packing.
“You’d leave everything behind? For what?”
You shrugged. “A life on the seas.”
“What changed?” He took a few steps toward you. “I’ve asked you every time, and the answer was always no. So what changed?”
He was going to make you say it. Of course he was. He had to hear it from your lips. Your actions weren’t enough.
You stopped folding your clothes and turned to him. “Because I love you, Ace. You absolute buffoon, I love you! And I was never at risk of losing you- truly losing you- until now. And I can’t bear the thought of you going away and never coming back. I can’t imagine a life where I marry William and live a perfectly normal life and die an unimportant death and I never see you again. Is that a good enough reason for you?”
He stared at you, shocked by your sudden outburst. It was all the things you wanted to say to him since the first time you saw him at the bar. And now it was out in the open, hanging between the two of you.
He rushed toward you, effortlessly scooping you into his arms and covering your face in kisses. When he finally put you down, you felt dizzy from the heat of his lips peppering your cheeks.
“What else needs to be packed?” He asked.
You gave him a few tasks and pulled some paper from a drawer. You had a lot of apologizing to do for those you were leaving behind.
A few hours later, in the dead of night, you walked hand in hand as you carried your belongings toward the pirate ship in the distance. The only thing that would remain of you on the island was two letters and an engagement ring.
Ace squeezed your hand. You could see his beaming smile against the moonlight. “You know,” he said softly. “I couldn’t live without you either.”
Law
You went to your room as soon as you got home. Your parents didn’t object, didn’t even ask if you wanted dinner. You weren’t hungry anyway.
You laid in bed, trying not to think of the day. You hated the way it had all turned out. The lack of freedom you had on this island due to your parents made you sick. You had no freedom here. No sense of self.
You weren’t sure when you dozed off, but you woke to a periodic tapping on your window. For a moment, you were too scared to get out of bed. It could be anything or anyone. But after a few more taps on the window, you knew you wouldn’t be able to fall back asleep. Besides, you were on the second story. Nobody could get you from outside your window. So you got up and peeked outside.
Trafalgar Law was standing under your window. His golden eyes glimmered in the light of the full moon as they locked onto you.
There was a moment of weightlessness, and then your bare feet slammed against the cobblestone path. You let out a yelp of surprise, but Law’s hands were around your mouth to muffle the sound.
“Sorry,” he said. “I figured this would be faster than you trying to sneak out.”
“What the hell did you do?!” You looked back at your bedroom window, confused about how you had gotten here so fast. You were still in your pajamas and barefoot. Hardly the way you wanted Trafalgar Law to see you.
He scratched the back of his head as if it had just dawned on him that his actions might not be the best approach. “It’s, uh, my devil fruit ability.”
You gave him a skeptical look. “Can you put me back?”
“Do you want to go back?”
You scoffed. “I’d like some shoes, at the very least. And proper clothes.”
In the moonlight, you could see his cheeks pinken. “Right,” he said quickly. “Just let me know when you’re ready.”
Another weightless moment and you were back in your room. You had been expecting it this time and resisted the urge to let out another shout. You didn’t want to alert your parents to your movements or the individual outside.
You wanted to do more than simply change clothes and put on shoes, but you didn’t want to keep Law waiting. You weren’t even sure how much time you would have with him as it was.
Once you were as ready as you could be, you gave the window a little tap to alert him, and then gave him a thumbs up.
A moment later, you were standing next to him. His hand instinctively went out and helped steady you.
“I don’t think I’ll ever get used to that,” you said breathlessly.
Law gave a smirk. “You’d be surprised.”
The two of you walked in silence for a while, waiting until you were out of sight from the house before you dared to speak.
“Where are we going?” you finally asked.
“I had bigger plans for us, but the beach will do for tonight.” Law jerked his head down a side path through the forest.
It was a path you knew well. It led to a small private alcove. Nobody would find you there. Especially at this time of night.
“This is my favorite place on this island,” he said softly, leading you to a large blanket lying on the sand. “The view of the stars with the sound of the waves is unmatched. I always come here when I need to think. It’s the most peaceful place on the Grand Line.”
You snorted at his remark, looking up at the sky. “Surely there’s better places out there.”
“But this is my favorite.”
“I dunno why,” you grumbled. “People here give you no respect. You’ve helped these people more than they can count and they still refuse to treat you well.”
Law hummed in agreement at that. He couldn’t deny that the islanders weren’t always kind to him. “You speak as though you’re not one of them.”
“I wish I wasn’t.”
Law’s eyes flicked over, studying you closely. “What do you mean?”
“I just wish I had more.” You turned to look at him. “There’s a whole world out there and I’m stuck in a sandwich shop.”
His eyebrow quirked up. “You don’t have to be.”
“I have nowhere to go and no one to go with. I’m stuck.”
His eyes returned to the sky, not saying anything. The two of you were quiet for a long while, staring at the sky lost in thought. It was the perfect night out, between the soft warm breeze and the waves crashing against the shore. You could feel your eyelids starting to close, lulling you back to sleep.
“You could come with me.” Law’s voice jolted you awake, and for a second you thought you were dreaming.
“What?”
His eyes were still on the stars. “My crew. You could join us and sail. We could go anywhere you wanted.”
You sat up, staring at him intensely. “You’re serious?”
He gave a nod in return.
“I want to,” you said. “I will. I’ll go with you.”
“We leave tomorrow.”
“I can’t leave tomorrow,” you frowned, shaking your head. There was too much to do to prepare. You couldn’t just vanish. “But…ask me again next time you’re here.”
He gave a nod of understanding. “I’ll be back in a week.”
You broke out in a smile, your mind already turning with possibilities and dreams. “I’ll be ready then.”
One more week, and then you would be with Law. One more week, and then you would be a Heart Pirate.
Shanks
The next morning you left the house before your parents were down for breakfast. You didn’t want to face them after dinner last night. You didn’t want to think about what they had said to you, how Shanks had been with another woman.
You wanted to be out of the house and distracted from your thoughts, so you took off early to make it to campus and study before class. You tried to think about anything other than that red-haired pirate. You had exams and projects coming up. Going over the concepts you researched and studied for, you walked right into another person.
“A bit distracted, love?” You didn’t have to look up to know who was speaking. Out of all the places he could’ve been on this island, he had to be on this path.
You took a quick step back and nervously tucked your hair behind your ear. “Hey Shanks. Sorry about that.”
His brow furrowed at your formality. “Everything okay?”
“Just on the way to class.” You tried your best to smile. “Busy day.”
“I’ve been trying to catch you since we got here. I’ve missed you.” He reached out to grab you, but you stepped out of his reach.
“It was good to see you.” You gave a quick look around, hoping nobody was watching you. “I don’t want to be late for class.”
His lips pressed into a thin line. “Your class doesn’t start for another two hours.”
Shit. You had told him that the last time he visited. His mind was too keen to forget small details like that.
His hand reached out again, this time grabbing your wrist. “What’s going on?”
“Please Shanks,” you tried to pull away, but he held firm. “Let me go.”
“What is this cold shoulder business? Did I do something to make you upset? This can’t be over-”
“Why don’t you ask that girl you were with at the market?” You don’t know what possessed you to do it, but you spat out the words to him.
Shanks visibly recoiled from your words, pure confusion on his face.
Confusion. Not guilt. Not shame. He had no idea what you were talking about.
“My mother lied to me,” you whispered, tears forming in your eyes. “Oh god, Shanks. I'm so-”
He pulled you into his chest, clasping his arms tightly around you. “Shhh,” he whispered. “It’s okay. I should’ve found you sooner. I’m sorry.”
You buried your face in his chest, ashamed. “I believed them. Why did I believe them?”
“It’s okay.” He smoothed your hair as he held you. “We figured it out in the end, right?”
“I can’t stay here. We need to leave.” You pulled back, looking at him.
He only gave a light laugh, unsure of what you meant.
But that only made you more determined. “I’m serious, Shanks. I can’t stay here anymore. It’s suffocating. I’m dying here. I need life. I need adventure. I need you.”
The smallest spark of light gleaned in his eyes. “You want to sail? With me?”
“Yes.”
“You’ll be a pirate. An outlaw, wanted by the government. You’ll be-”
“I’ll be with you,” you said, cutting him off. “The only one who has ever made me feel like I am my own person. I’ll be with you. I don’t care about the rest.”
He broke into a grin. “You’re serious?”
You stood on the tips of your toes and leaned forward to kiss him. “I’m serious. When can we go?”
“As soon as you want to.”
The excitement of living flooded into your veins. “Now.”
The two of you took off toward the docks hand in hand. And you felt more at peace looking into the unknown than you had in your entire life.
I've got a sinking feeling - {Five Hargreeves x GN!Reader}
Synopsis: You are very flirty with Five, and he's tricked himself into believing he hates it. He tells you to stop. Then he learns the hard way how much he took you for granted when you meet someone else.
Note: Five requests would be very appreciated! Thank you to those who sent requests on my last one shot.
(Not Edited)
Warnings: Swearing
Word count: 1.5k
Extra Information: Viisi means Five in Finnish. Five and Y/n were partners in the commission. They look seventeen or eighteen instead of thirteen. This one-shot takes place on the last episode of season one, and the entirety of season two.
----
The Academy, Five's home, has just collapsed--courtesy of Vanya's new powers--and Five ordered his family to meet at Super Star Lanes bowling alley to come up with a new plan of action.
He grabs your wrist, blinking you with him. You're both in front of the bowling alley in a flash of blue.
Five takes a moment to pace around, not entering the building. The crisp, spring air bites at your earlobes as you hug your sides for warmth
"Hey, Viisi, can we go inside?" You look at him with a grimace and a pleading smile. He whips his head in your direction to glare at you, then strolls inside with a roll of his eyes. You follow in his stead.
The interior is heated, thankfully. Five informs the underpaid worker that his "parents" will be arriving shortly to pay for his bowling shoes. He takes a seat adjacent to Lane 6 and you sit next to him.
"So, how was the farewell with Delores? I know you two were close." You lean back in your seat, getting more comfortable while waiting for Five's siblings to arrive.
He does not look at you, his jaw ticks in annoyance.
"Come onnn, I know you're stressed, but this is your sister. I'm sure she's reasonable enough not to end the world." You turn towards him, leaning your elbows on your thighs and admiring his pretty face.
"No, it's not that." He scoffs, looking at you with a sneer.
You notice that his tie is crooked so you reach out to fix it, like you often do. It's sort of your thing.
He smacks your hand away and you raise an eyebrow.
"You okay Viisi?" You rub your hand a little, surprised. Normally, he lets you fix his tie with no problem. Although, he would grumble about it a little.
"God- No. I'm not okay." He puts his hands in his hair, gripping it slightly with an exasperated expression. "And stop calling me that."
"What?" You breathe with a smile of disbelief. "What's going on? Did something happen- Did I do something?" You lean away from him a little to give him more space.
"Stop, just stop it with the touching and the nicknames. I'm sick of it!" He looks at you with cold eyes. This is very unusual of him.
You cock your head to the side, trying to understand. "Five, I thought- I thought that was our thing! Y'know, the friendly banter and-"
"I know you're desperate for some sort of relationship with me, but I'm here to tell you that it's not going to happen. We were only ever co-workers." He says through gritted teeth, avoiding your eyes. "I'm telling you to stop pursuing me." You were never 'pursuing' him.
Usually you would brush this sort of behavior off, ignore it. Tell yourself that it's only because he's stressed. He's always stressed! Thinking back, he was never all that nice to you. Even in your Commission days.
You'd tricked yourself into thinking that maybe he thought you were special, or that you were at least his friend. His confidant.
You look at him with eyes full of hurt, which Five has never seen from you. He almost feels something bubbling up his throat, but the feeling dissipates quickly. "Have I made myself clear?" He says evenly.
You only nod, turning away so he doesn't see the tears prick at your eyes.
Five's siblings come inside and you two don't speak to each other again.
A year and seven months later (for you, at least.)
1963, Dallas Texas:
Five anxiously pulls at his tie after narrowly escaping three armed Swedish men. He had just watched his siblings, along with you, blow up in yet another nuclear explosion. It's left him oddly shaken up about how he treated you back in 2019.
He's pacing down the alley-way between the Commerse and Knox when he notices a flash atop the roof. A large camera of some sort.
A brown haired man closes his window briskly. That's strange.
Five teleports inside, scaling up a flight of stairs with cat-like agility. When he knocks on a door, the one beside him answers, revealing a mouse-y looking man in his early thirties. He looks at him with big, expectant eyes.
"What do you want." His tone is dripping with suspicion.
"Hi, I'm selling encyclopedias for my youth group. I was curious if-" Five gets a door to the face. He huffs, blinking inside after him.
The man, Elliot, jumps, yelping in fear and pulling out a butter-knife from his drawer of kitchen utensils. "H-how did you do that?" He hesitates, astonished.
Five looks at him with amusement. "Don't really have time to explain."
Elliot runs a hand through his unkempt brown hair, gripping the butter-knife in a feeble attempt to protect himself. "You from the Pentagon? Huh?"
"Definitely not."
"CIA? FBI? KGB?"
Five eyes up the kitchen, noticing a coffee pot on the other side of the room. "Is that fresh?" He uses his powers again, blinking himself right in front of the coffee pot.
Elliot screams, whipping his head back and forth between the place Five just was and the place he appeared. "What..." He pants, eyes wide.
"Elliot? You okay?" Five hears a faraway voice from another room. A familiar voice. "Who's with you?" It asks.
You appear from around the corner, presumably from Elliot's bedroom, looking almost two years older.
Five furrows his eyebrows and so do you. He breathes out your name is what you almost register as relief. But, you know better then to think that.
"Oh, Five. You're back." You say casually, nodding and crossing your arms. Five sets the coffee down, unwillingly noticing how you didn't call him by his nickname.
"How long have you been here?" He walks towards you, looking at your slightly different features. You changed your hair, he observes. He says nothing about it.
"A year and a half, I believe." You tap your chin in thought. Elliot glances between you two with interest or surprise.
"You two know each-other?" He puts the butter-knife back onto the counter with a small clatter.
You nod, shrugging. "We were co-workers." You send Elliot a reassuring, genuine smile.
Co-workers. Five doesn't like how the word rolled off your tongue.
He licks his lips, looking away. "You live here?" He asks you, though it was a silly question considering its obvious answer.
You nod with tight lipped smile, approaching Elliot. You fix his hair with your fingers and flip the collar of his flannel back down. "Did he scare you? I told you he could be a bit much."
Elliot exhales a shaky laugh at your words and actions as Five begins to feel a hot, frothy feeling in the pit of his stomach. He changes the subject. "Are my siblings here too?"
Elliot answers for you, looking back towards the teen again. "The other six anomalys- The power surges." He begins to look excited at this new discovery. "They're your siblings?"
Five ticks his jaw, ignoring him. "So they're alive..." He begins to pace around. "I think I stranded them here. Now listen to me..."
"Elliot." You tell him his name.
"Whatever, alright? I got ten days to find them and save the world." He points to you and Elliot. "Now, I need your help to do that."
Elliot is just so happy to be involved, his three year long project finally achieving some major development. He scrambles to find a certain newspaper scrap from his desk drawer. "You know what? I, uh..." He fumbles with it, handing it to Five.
"I always thought that this, uh, mugshot looked like arrival number four."
"Diego." Five reads softly, then he twists around to face you. "You're coming with me." He states.
You hiss awkwardly through your teeth, avoiding his eyes. "Ohh, about that... Actually, Elliot and I were about to play scrabble."
Five narrows his eyes at you, barking your name. "The world is ending and you're just gonna play scrabble with this homebody?"
Elliot looks at his dusty wooden floors with a look of dejection.
"Uh, yeah. That's exactly what I'm gonna do." You lean against the door-frame with a bored expression. "I thought you wanted me to stop following you around like a lost puppy."
Five feels strange. "You know what? I don't need this." He blinks away to search for Diego.
When Five returns from the strip club, after a failed attempt of recruiting both Luther and Diego, he decides to test something. His fingers reach for his tie, pulling at it and skewing it. Perfectly crooked.
You couldn't resist fixing his tie, he knew this.
So why didn't you? He finds himself uncharacteristically frustrated about unresponsiveness.
As he demands that Elliot develop his Frankel Footage, his eyes trail to you occasionally, silently tempting you to straighten his tie.
Your eyes flicked to it once. However, you made no move to adjust it.
Five heaves a dramatic sigh, angrily fixes it, and leaves to look for Vanya.
He messed up before, he realizes. He feels like shit.

“is this nepotism? like how i got this modeling gig?” johnny questions, swinging his hands in the air in surrender when you pause and shoot him a horrified look, “hey! nepotism isn’t exclusive to families! it’s like friends and associates too!”
“good,” you roll your eyes, reaching up to fix his collar, “i’m very relieved that my boyfriend isn’t suggesting we’re together because of oedipal shit— we’re over if you call me mommy,”
“i can’t believe you think i’d say something like that,” johnny sighs, melancholically tilting his head off to the side. before you’re able to smooth out the creases along his shoulders, johnny’s hand catches yours as he stares right into your eyes and places a chaste kiss on your knuckle, “babe, you know i’d never. you’re my beautiful, amazing lover who is well within an appropriate age range for us to be in a perfectly acceptable and healthy relationship,”
“you know what, i think jaehyun said he was free today. maybe i should ask him to model for my assignment,” you mutter, flicking his nose gently as you continue to set his accessories and hair in place, “think he’d be down to come help?”
“how could you?” johnny laments, feigning offense as he clutches your hands in his, “you wound me, love. i can’t believe how easily you’re throwing me aside and considering replacing me with my own best friend after claiming that i was your muse for this collection,”
johnny throws his head theatrically, stepping away from you while keeping one of his hands connected with yours, “oh y/n, how could you be so cruel to your muse, your boyfriend, the literal love of your life?”

fake dating, strangers to lovers, fluff w.c: 4.5k
The college exams were really getting to Johnny, but another complicated situation was troubling his mind: his parents' pressure for him to seriously date someone. It was no secret that Johnny was focused on his studies, but he also didn't miss a chance to have fun with friends and even get involved with some people, yet he never started a serious relationship.
One of Johnny's cousins' wedding was approaching and his mother asked him to be there, once again bringing up the fact that he wasn’t dating anyone. In response, Johnny ended up saying he was in a relationship, which was a big lie.
“Why did you tell your parents that?” Jaehyun, Johnny's friend and classmate, asked him while they were in the cafeteria.
“To see if they would stop pressuring me so much, but now I have a week to find a girl to pretend to be my girlfriend.”
“But that’s easy, look at how many women you’ve hooked up with here.”
The fact was that Johnny was well-known and very desired at college. His charm, good humor, and his sculptural body attracted a lot of attention.
“Yeah, but I don’t want to and can’t just take anyone. It’s a wedding!”
So, Jaehyun started suggesting various possible candidates, but Johnny had very convincing excuses. Then Jaehyun looked around the cafeteria and spotted you.
“Why not talk to her?”
Johnny looked in your direction, seeing you laugh at something your friend was saying. You both were in the same major, but you started college after Johnny, making him your senior. You and Johnny had talked a few times, but you were far from being friends. You were known for being a dedicated and very reserved student, not fond of attending the college parties, which made contact with him rare.
“But how am I supposed to ask her? I can’t just go up to her and say ‘do you want to pretend to be my girlfriend for a few days?’”
“That’s not my problem. Think about it, maybe fate will bring her your way in the next few days.”
And it seemed fate was indeed on Johnny’s side. He had gone to talk to the professor of the subject he had been a teaching assistant for the previous semester to resolve some issues. Upon arriving at the office door, he found you talking to the professor, saying you had some questions and needed help to finalize the final project for the subject.
“Unfortunately, I can’t help you because I need to make a short trip to take care of some personal matters.” That’s when the professor noticed someone at the door, directed his gaze to Johnny and asked him to come in. “But it seems you’re in luck. I think you know Johnny. He was my TA last term, and I think he can help you.”
“Really?!” You said, quite excited and hopeful.
“I can help, we just need to figure out some days and times that work, so I can also study for the final exams.”
“Perfect. Are you free after classes tomorrow?”
And so, you arranged to meet in the library the next day for Johnny to help you with the project. He was already waiting for you and it didn’t take long for you to arrive, a bit flustered trying to balance your notebook and notes in your hands, which made Johnny chuckle.
“Sorry for the delay, but the professor wouldn’t stop talking.”
“It’s fine, I just got here.”
After organizing your things on the table and turning on the notebook, you started asking questions and sharing some ideas you were considering for the project. Johnny proved to be very helpful, definitely more than you expected. After some time in the library, you left together heading to the exit, when Johnny offered you a ride since he had a car and saw you were heading to the bus stop. Initially, you tried to refuse but ended up accepting with the condition that you would stop at a coffee shop near your house.
Once there, you placed your orders, which you insisted on paying for, and began talking about various topics, like the similarities of being only children, your tattoos and their meanings, the reasons for choosing that major, and so on. You were discovering more about each other's lives when suddenly Johnny heard someone call his name and recognized his mother’s voice.
“My dear! It’s so good to see you here.”
“You too, mom. What are you doing here?”
“I came to buy some things for your cousin’s wedding and decided to stop for a coffee.” She then looked at you with a very friendly smile. You stood up to greet Johnny’s mother.
“Mom, this is…”
“Don’t tell me she’s your girlfriend?!”
You were about to say you were just a university colleague when Johnny interrupted.
“Yes. My girlfriend.”
Confusion was written all over your face. While being pulled into a hug by Johnny’s mother, you looked at him, seeking an explanation, he just whispered, “I’ll explain later, but please help me.”
“I can’t believe Johnny is finally dating and with such a beautiful woman like you.”
“Ah, thank you…”
“I’m leaving now. It was a pleasure meeting you, dear. And I look forward to seeing you at the wedding.”
“Of course, mom.” Johnny hugged you by the shoulders, startling you a bit. “We’ll definitely be there.”
After saying goodbye to Johnny’s mom with fake smiles, you pulled away from him and demanded an explanation.
“Long story short: I lied to my mom saying I had a girlfriend and she wants me to bring her to my cousin’s wedding. I hadn’t said who it was yet and I was going to talk to you about it before, but then my mom showed up and all this happened. I’m sorry for putting you in this situation.”
“And you think this will work?”
Johnny held your hand and kept his gaze on your eyes. That gave you butterflies, something you didn’t understand why it was happening.
“They say desperate times call for desperate measures. Will you help me?”
You took a deep breath and said, bringing a smile to the man in front of you, “You helped me, so… we have a wedding to go to.”
-
Since you had only a few days before the wedding, your meetings became more frequent, both inside and outside the university. Johnny helped you finish the project, which you presented impeccably and you also studied together for exams, each for your respective subjects, keeping each other company, thus forming a friendship between you.
Already on vacation and on the eve of the wedding, some final details were decided: the wedding and the reception would be in a neighboring town, so Johnny asked you to bring comfortable clothes for the trip and you created a story about your relationship in case anyone asked (you studied at the same university, Johnny always saw you in the corridors and fell in love with you, asked you out, and you had been dating for 2 months).
On Saturday morning, the day of the wedding, Johnny was already at your doorstep, waiting by the car and laughed when he saw you walking towards him with curlers in your hair, holding the dress and a small suitcase.
“Why are you like that?” Johnny laughed as he helped you put your things in the car.
“To speed things up, of course. We would be late if I did this at the hotel and I hate being late. And this isn’t the way to greet your ‘girlfriend’ on a saturday morning.”
“You're right. Good morning, my dear.” Johnny said, putting his hands on your waist and then laughing at the face you made. So, you decided to be as affectionate as he was. Standing on tiptoe, you gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, leaving him very surprised.
“Good morning, honey. Now let’s go, the road is long.”
That little kiss, innocent as it was, significantly affected Johnny, who took a while to process everything and got into the car.
A little over two hours later, you were at the hotel, and since you were returning the same day, Johnny only booked one room for you to get ready for the wedding. You checked in, ate something, and started preparing. You had already showered and were now doing your makeup. Johnny was in the shower but soon came out, complaining that he couldn’t put on the tie.
“I have no idea how to do this, I think I’ll go without it.”
“Calm down, Johnny, I’ll–” You stopped talking when you saw him with wet, messy hair, the first four buttons of his shirt open, giving a glimpse of his chest, and pants perfectly fitted to his body. Even like that, you thought Johnny was the most attractive man in the world and didn’t want to imagine how he would look when fully ready. You approached him, hoping he wouldn’t notice your blushing face, started buttoning his shirt and tied his tie perfectly. Unlike you, who was very “focused,” Johnny looked at every detail of your face, how your eyelashes were long, how your eyes were mesmerizing, how your lips seemed so soft that he wanted to kiss you right there, but he was snapped out of his trance when you patted his shoulder.
“How do you know how to tie ties?”
“I had to wear one for an event and watched some tutorials online.” You said, smiling. “I’ll add the final touches to my makeup and put on the dress.”
It didn’t take long for Johnny to get ready, so he waited for you until he heard, “Johnny, can you help me?” from the bathroom. He entered the room, seeing you struggling to zip up the dress, and quickly positioned himself behind you. This was your moment to hold your breath at his proximity as he slowly zipped up the dress. You felt your arm hair stand up when his breath touched your neck and when his hands touched your waist. You looked at each other in the mirror, and a smile appeared on your lips.
“So, how do I look?”
Johnny, even nervous, tried to talk to you more casually. “You’re so beautiful we might end up going from a fake relationship to a fake marriage.” He laughed at what he said, knowing he was trying to give you confidence. Johnny turned you to face him and said in a more serious tone, giving you goosebumps for the second time that day, “But seriously, you’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met.”
Arriving at the wedding venue, Johnny extended his hand to help you out of the car. You held his hand, intertwining your fingers with his, after all, you had to appear as a couple from the moment you stepped into the wedding. You started to get nervous about it, but when you looked into Johnny’s eyes, you felt calmer. As the wedding was about to start, you only waved to Johnny’s parents, who were radiant with the fact that their son was “dating.” The wedding proceeded wonderfully. Mark, Johnny’s cousin, and his bride were happy, and from a distance, it was clear they truly loved each other. His speech made most people cry, including you, which Johnny noticed. In an unthinkable act, he wiped your tears and held your hand, caressing it afterward. You were startled for a second but then gave a subtle smile.
After the ceremony, there was the reception, where you had to really act like a couple. Johnny’s parents greeted you right away. His mother kept talking about how beautiful you were as a couple, made for each other, while his father said he was delighted to see that you made Johnny very happy. A few minutes later, your “mother-in-law” took you to meet Johnny’s aunts, leaving him alone with his father.
“I’m so happy for you, son. It’s clear how happy this girl makes you.”
“Really?”
“Of course. Just by looking at you, it’s obvious you’re head over heels for her.”
Johnny didn’t respond to his father, unsure of what to say. He just looked at where you were, cheerfully chatting with his aunts, fitting in like family. Your eyes crinkled as you smiled, your contagious laugh making him smile unconsciously. You noticed his gaze, smiled genuinely, as if to say everything was fine, and it was then Johnny realized he was actually falling for his fake girlfriend.
The party continued. You had already had a lot of fun with Johnny's aunts, talked to the newlyweds and even danced a bit. Now you were sitting next to Johnny, just waiting for the right time to head back to the hotel, after all, the weather was turning and you would need to hit the road before it started raining. That’s when the bride announced that it was time for the much-anticipated bouquet toss. You weren’t planning to join the others, but your “mother-in-law” pulled you in, you gave Johnny a look pleading for help, but he just gave you a "can't do anything" expression.
There you were, in the middle of some women, trying to give polite smiles but clearly not wanting to be in that situation. Then, you heard the bride’s voice saying that the next one to catch the bouquet would have to get married and soon started the countdown.

And by the irony of fate, the bouquet came your way and you caught it before it hit your face. Your wide-eyed expression made Johnny laugh as he rushed towards you. He was about to speak when his very excited mother arrived, saying:
“I knew that bouquet was yours! Now I want a photo of you two.”
You approached Johnny and whispered for only him to hear: “You two are the same, love taking photos of everything!” In the days you spent more time together, you discovered that photography was one of Johnny’s passions and that he was incredible at it.
When you saw Johnny’s mother positioning the phone for a picture of the two of you, you felt Johnny’s hand on your waist, pulling you closer and you felt a kind of warmth there. You posed for the photo, but you didn’t look like a couple. That’s when Johnny’s mother, quite cleverly, said, “Son, kiss your girlfriend!”
Johnny’s eyes widened. Now what? He couldn’t make you do anything like that. He couldn’t keep up this act. He was about to tell his mother the whole truth when he felt your hand on the back of his neck. There was a brief exchange of looks and you said, “I’m sorry.”
He didn’t have time to respond as your lips on his prevented him from doing so. It would be cliché to say that “it seemed like everything around had disappeared and only you two were there,” but that’s what was really happening. The gentle touch you gave to the back of Johnny’s neck with the hand not holding the bouquet was reciprocated by the way he held your waist. Johnny knew he was in trouble but didn’t want to think about it at that moment. For him, it was like a dream, but he was “awakened” when you pulled away, only to see the man in front of you with his eyes closed. You couldn’t help but smile when he opened his eyes and you ended up wiping the gloss that had stayed on his lips.
After a while, you decided to return to the hotel and, just as you arrived, a heavy rain started.
“It’s like we predicted this would happen,” said Johnny. He asked you to go to the room to start organizing your things while he settled a few things at the reception. The time you spent alone in the room was enough for you to think about everything that had happened, how much you loved being near Johnny, how welcomed you felt by his family, how nervous you got when you had to pretend to be his girlfriend and how much you loved that kiss. But, did he feel anything for you? Did he feel something with that kiss?
Some time later, Johnny returned to the room, and he didn’t look very happy. “The rain is getting worse and some trees have fallen on the road, so we’ll have to spend the night here.”
“Oh, that’s fine then.”
“You don’t mind us sharing the room?”
“Of course not, John, it’s okay. I’ll sleep on that little sofa and you can take the bed,” you said, pointing to the small sofa in the corner of the room.
“Are you crazy? I’ll sleep on the sofa and YOU can have the bed.”
“I think you’re the crazy one. Look at your size and the size of the sofa.” You were right. The sofa was too small for him, so you thought of a simple solution that made you nervous. “If you don’t mind, we can share the bed.” Johnny looked at you as if to say, “Are you sure about this?” You understood his expression completely and said, “It’s fine. We’ll put some pillows in the middle and it’ll be perfect. The bed is huge.”
After showering, Johnny was arranging the bed while you were combing your hair.
“Did you enjoy the wedding?”
“What? So much! Seriously, Johnny, your family is so lively and funny. I talked for ages with your mom and aunts.”
“I noticed. You even danced with them. You spent more time with them than with your boyfriend.”
“What’s up with that? You should have pulled me to dance.”
“Oh really?”
Then, Johnny picked up his phone and selected a song, specifically “More Than Words” by Extreme and, in a very exaggerated manner, extended his hand to invite you to dance with him in the middle of the hotel room. You couldn’t help but smile, which he noticed, and took his hand, accepting the invitation. The dance continued, Johnny made some exaggerated moves, leading you along with him. With each twirl he made you do, your laughter increased. It was amazing how, even in such a short time, you felt light and happy around Johnny, as he didn’t have to make any effort to make you smile, he just was… himself. The “exaggerated dance” went on for a few more minutes until Johnny lifted you and spun around, but ended up tripping and falling onto the bed, taking you with him. Despite the scare, you both laughed at the situation. But the smiles faded as you realized how close your faces were. You had been this close before, after all, you had kissed earlier, but it was all part of a “show”, now you were alone. Your mouths were almost meeting when Johnny’s phone rang, bringing you back to reality for the second time that day. You got off Johnny and went straight to the bathroom to catch your breath. Meanwhile, Johnny answered the call, discovering it was his mother, just asking if everything was alright.
When you left the bathroom, Johnny was already lying on his side of the bed, ready to sleep, and you did the same, wishing him a good night.
-
Although Johnny’s mind was racing because of everything that had happened the day before and because of the new feelings in his heart, he had a great night’s sleep, except he felt some weight on him. Because of the sun rays entering through the curtain gaps, he slowly opened his eyes and realized that the “weight” was your leg over his, your head using his arm as a pillow and your arms hugging him like he was a giant teddy bear. Johnny noticed that the pillow barrier you had made to divide the bed had fallen and now you were in that situation. He couldn’t help but smile when he saw your squished face, sleeping so peacefully and comfortably in his arms. As much as he wanted to stay there, he had to get out of bed. He tried to do it in a way that wouldn’t wake you, but it didn’t work, and your eyes started to open.
“Good morning, sleepyhead. Is this pillow comfortable?”
“Good morning, sort of, it’s just a bit hard…” The next second, you realized you were clinging to him and jumped out of bed. “OH MY GOD, JOHNNY, I’M SORRY! You must have slept all crooked because of me. How embarrassing!” You said while running your hands over your face, while Johnny, still in bed, just laughed at your “panic.”
-
As the days went by, you exchanged messages with trivial updates about what was happening in your lives. With each message you received, you could feel your heart beat faster just thinking it was from Johnny. All your friends knew when you were talking to him because you always had a silly smile on your face, like a lovesick teenager. Missing him so much, you decided to ask him out and he accepted right away.
You arrived in front of the chosen place: a homemade food restaurant where you had once worked and were still friends with Joe, the elderly owner. A few minutes later, Johnny arrived and he couldn’t help but smile when he saw you, especially because of the sunflower-patterned dress you were wearing. He didn’t miss the chance to joke, “Is that dress in my honor?” knowing that he had a sunflower tattooed on his forearm.
Upon entering the restaurant, you took Johnny’s hand to introduce him to the owner.
“Mr. Joe, it’s been so long!”
“Hi, my dear, I’ve missed you.” With a friendly smile, he turned his attention to Johnny. “Did you come to introduce me to your boyfriend?”
Lately, you two were so often mistaken for a couple that Johnny didn’t mind what was said but couldn’t help but feel sad when you stated that you were just friends.
“I see, well, enjoy the evening and maybe things will change tonight.” The elderly man shook Johnny’s hand, winking at him. Was it that obvious that he was in love with you?
You took the lead, followed by Johnny, who found it strange that you were heading somewhere other than where the customers were eating. He was about to ask where you were going when he was surprised as you reached the restaurant’s terrace. It was a rarely used place but very well-decorated and had an incredible view at night.
“Wow, this place is amazing!”
“I think so too. It was one of my favorite spots. I used to stay here during my breaks and sometimes came here to study or just think about life. The owner doesn’t use it much, but I asked a friend who still works here to set it up, just in case I brought someone here.
“And do you often bring people here?”
“To be honest, you’re the first person I’ve brought here.” Johnny gave a restrained smile, feeling special for some reason.
After placing your orders, you talked about various things. It was incredible how you always had so much to talk about. Then, a cold breeze passed, making you shiver and complain about wearing a dress and forgetting your jacket. Within seconds, Johnny promptly got up, took off his jacket and put it on your shoulders, making you momentarily forget how to breathe due to his sudden closeness.
When he returned to his seat, Johnny found it odd that you started laughing for apparently no reason.
“Please don’t get me wrong, I just think it’s amazing how you can sometimes be so sweet despite being so...” You gestured to indicate his height.
“Tall? Handsome? Hot? No need to be at a loss for words to describe me. They say that’s my charm: being sweet to balance out the fact that I’m extremely attractive” Johnny said in a charming tone and you decided to play along.
“For sure, and very modest too.”
After dinner and more conversation, you suggested to Johnny that you go to an ice cream shop near your place.
“What? But weren’t you cold?”
“No cold can make me refuse a good ice cream.”
And that’s how you ended up on your street, heading to your building with your ice creams, you looking like a happy child finally eating your favorite dessert and Johnny laughing at everything you said.
“Well, I guess this is where we say goodbye,” you said, but deep down you didn’t want the night to end.
“The night was amazing. I haven’t had this much fun in a long time.”
“Oh! Before I forget.” You said while taking off the jacket and handing it back to Johnny. “I swear I’ll bring mine next time.”
“So, there will be a next time?” Johnny said provocatively while putting on his jacket. You pretended to be thoughtful for a second and replied, “Maybe… Wait a second.”
You stepped closer to Johnny to adjust his jacket collar, bringing you just inches apart. Your eyes locked, but this time in a more intense way. You could admire Johnny’s beautiful honey-colored eyes while he examined every detail of your face, which looked even more beautiful in the moonlight. You made a move to pull away, but Johnny placed his hands on your waist, preventing you from leaving. Your gaze dropped to his mouth as he said, “You’ve already kissed me once, what are you waiting for to do it again?”
“Now it’s your turn to take the initiative. Kiss me, John.”
Closing the minimal gap between you, Johnny kissed you. Unlike the first time, you felt the intensity of this kiss, and when Johnny’s tongue touched yours, you could swear you would explode with happiness, so much so that it made you smile in the middle of the kiss, causing Johnny to pull away, laughing. “Are you that happy to kiss me?”
“Of course. Because now we’re really kissing.” You kissed Johnny again, unable to believe he felt something for you too. “Hm, does this mean we’re really dating now?”
“Hmm, let’s see.” Johnny made a mock thoughtful face and listed what had already happened between you two. “I’ve introduced you to my family, we went to a wedding as a couple, we slept together… so I guess we are dating.”
“Good.” You threw yourself into Johnny’s arms, standing on tiptoe. “I won’t have to pretend anymore for your family because next week I’m going to play golf with your mom and your aunts.” You said, giving him a peck.
“YOU WHAT?”
“That’s right, I’m going to spend some quality time with my mother-in-law and show her that I’m the best girlfriend her son could have.”
Johnny’s laughter made you smile even more, he couldn’t believe how quickly you had won over his mother. He hugged you tighter, lifting you off the ground.
“Get inside before I end up kissing you all night, girlfriend.”
“There’s nothing stopping you from doing that, boyfriend.”
You both smiled and kissed once more, savoring the moment that was more real than ever.
