You know, it's never talked about, but Mabel is demonstrably an artistic prodigy.

I think it's a bit of truth in television that her artistic prowess is completely dismissed / undervalued in comparison to the logical intelligence that Dipper presents, but nonetheless, the artistic and crafting feats that Mabel pulls off in the show are nothing short of amazing. Of course, she's not gifted in all areas (her drawings are just okay), but in others?

Mabel hand knits all of her own sweaters, as well as sweaters for other people, animals, and magical beings. She can start and finish a sweater in a single day (perhaps even multiple sweaters, as seen in Weirdmageddon 3). Not only that, but while we mostly see her with balls of yarn, we also know that she can knit using a variety of materials; in the end tag for "Headhunters" when Mabel is trying to choose between two sweaters, she says that the llama sweater (yes, the one that is eventually given to Pacifica) is made from llama hair. Mabel is twelve years old, and she can not only knit sweaters from a standard material at a rate comparable with a machine, but she can also knit llama hair sweaters, too. The girl has a gift.

And speaking of "Headhunters"!

In "Headhunters", we learn that Stan once had a wax museum at the Mystery Shack, and also that his wax statue of Abraham Lincoln melted in the sun. Mabel ends up building a wax figure of Stan out of the melted wax. A couple things of note:

It was old wax that had already melted who knows how long ago, possibly cooled, and then melted again . . . to be fair I know fuck all about working with wax, but I can't imagine that wax was in the best shape.

Even assuming that it was in the best shape, on her very first try Mabel created a wax figure of Stan that was so accurate that he screamed, leaped away from it, and formed an attachment to it, possibly because it reminded him of his twin brother. The murderer in the episode also mistook it for the real Stan.

I repeat: this was Mabel's FIRST TRY, and it was THAT PERFECT.

Mabel is TWELVE.

Mabel is often dismissed, both in the show and out of it, because she's silly, has an active imagination, and is girly and likes girly things. But she has a serious artistic gift. The girl is a prodigy! Sure, she's not a scientific genius, but who needs to be when you can outfit an entire town for funsies in a day and make immaculate sculptures like it's nothing?

What I'm saying is: when Mabel graduates high school, she's going to art school on a full ride scholarship, where she'll hone her craft to have art shows and galleries and make art pieces that'll change the world and stand the test of time.

Or at least, that's the dream . . .

It just occured to me that Stan technically canonically liked to draw, so here's my take of what Stanley's sketchbook would have looked like had he never gave up on art :]

It Just Occured To Me That Stan Technically Canonically Liked To Draw, So Here's My Take Of What Stanley's

Stanley first found this sketchbook left behind in a dumpster next to a library. The rings that once held the pages together were broken and warped, so he instead fashioned himself a jury rigged binder by weaveing one of his shoelaces through the holes in the side. In the end, it was essentially just a stack of barely held together paper, but he was still satisfied with it.

Pencils were easy enough to snag from the store since they fit so easily inside his pockets; but he had to settle for the shitty stubby pink erasers that barely did its job on the end of the pencils if he made any mistakes.

Stanley wasn't much of a poetic guy, and he didn't do the kind of art that had deep symbolism or meaning behind them. He was more the kind of artist that just drew what was in front of him, plain and simple. Had he been younger, he might have been able to fill in this cobbled together sketchbook in a matter of days, page after page filled to the brim with creatures and adventures of the wildest dreams.

Well, Stanley wasn't exactly a sprightly young child anymore with a boundless imagination to take inspiration from, but 10 years was a long time to be on the road and moving around, so there was plenty for him to draw.

[Summer of 1971, Kentucky- Natasha Jones. Stanley met her at a small farmers market located in a somehow even smaller backwater town. His fingers were itching for something to distract themselves with from the dull inactivity of the town, and he found his eyes drawn to Natasha lounging behind her fruit stand just across from him. Her body language was languid and loose, like a cat. She hadn't appreciated it when she caught him staring, but was apologetic when she realized she gave Stanley a black eye not for being a pervert, but for simply drawing her. She and him still keeps in contact to this day.]
[1972- Carla McCorkle. Stanley crossed paths with her completely out of the blue at the Juke Joint. During a brief pause in their dancing escapade, Stanley managed to roughly capture Carla's dancing in his sketchbook. He was enraptured by her boundless energy, and wanted to challenge himself to try and imitate her lively movements and poses on paper.]

(My primary goal was just to make these pages look as realistic as possible, but I did add in mini backstories in each of the pages' image description, if you feel like reading that :])

[1973- Jack Andersen. Jack was a travelling business man who was staying in room #26 at the same motel Stanley was temporarily residing. Stan doesn't remember what it had been about Jack that intrigued him so much at the time. It might have been his voice, or his height, or his face. In any case, Jack noticed him hunched over the counter and scribbling a portrait of him onto a scrap piece of cardboard from across the lobby. He offered to meet up later to give Stanley a better view of what he was drawing. Stan still has his phone number.]
[1973- Maddison. She was the waitress attending to Stanley at the diner he had taken a pit-stop at to evade the pouring autumn rain. She had the bluest eyes he'd ever seen, and she seemed delighted when he showed her the small portrait he had done of her in cheap blue ink on the receipt.]
[1974- Jimmy Snakes. For such a laid-back man, Stanley never seemed to be able to catch him staying still long enough to draw him. He didn't get the chance to draw him a whole lot.]
[Winter of 1974- Sarah Campbell. Stanley met her out on the streets begging for money with an empty coffee cup. It was cold enough to see your breath fog, and she looked far too young to be homeless already, but she had one of the sunniest smiles that Stan had ever seen on another person. He was dragged into keeping her company when she noticed his sketchbook in his pocket and practically demanded that he draw her. He indulged her, and let her hijack the sketchbook to doodle her own drawings onto the page. She left to beg in a different area after about an hour, and Stan never saw her again. He still thinks about her sometimes. She reminds him so much of Mabel.]
[June 1975- Morrison. They met at a seedy bar in a random town that Stan doesn't care to remember the name of. In the afterglow of their one night stand, Morrison asked for Stanley to draw him after learning of the latter's hobby. He remembers Morrison walking out on him with a huff when he saw that Stanley never once drew his face.]
[He doesn't remember drawing this one.]
[1976, Colombia- Ana María. She was one of the muscles involved in a cartel mission that Stanley was participating in. His boss didn't notice him sitting in the corner with his sketchbook balanced on his knees during the meeting, and Ana María certainly didn't seem to care, although she definitely noticed him.]
[1980, Colombia- Stanley only barely managed to hide his sketchbook from the guards during the initial body search, and he never dared to pull it out in front of his inmates, lest they damage it. Besides, pencils that weren't being used as a stabbing weapon was a rarity in prison, and paper was bound to get ruined with blood at some point or another]
[Summer of 2012- Mabel and Dipper Pines. Stan remembered the day he first met the twins; not in Gravity Falls, but at Piedmont, California, almost a decade ago. They had been so small at the time, and Stan had been having such a hard time stifling his tears that he was barely able to hold his pencil properly to draw the slumbering pair, cocooned in their tiny blankets. The extra sixth finger on his gloves hadn't helped with his shakiness, but he was desperate to busy his hands so Shermie didn't notice him crying. He did anyways, and Shermie himself had looked like he was about to burst out laughing at the sight of Stan, the traitor.]

What all of your femme!tf2 headcannons?

Fem!Scout

Feral. And I mean feral. Scout is to this team what Pyro is to the canon mercs.

Medic gave her some sharper teeth so she can bite people.

Also she’s from New Jersey.

Not as fast as C!Scout but hits much harder.

She’s Miss Pauling’s girlfriend. Pauling likes her because she’s chaos incarnate but is also just very sincere. No over-trying, no posing, no filter, it’s attractive to her.

Fem!Sniper

Has an incredible sense of humor. If she met C!Sniper she’d probably say something like “Mate, you’re paid to blow up idiots in the dessert. Loosen up.”

Her best attribute would probably be her stealth. It doesn’t matter if she doesn’t hit her target the first time because you’ve no idea where’s she’s coming from.

Her second best would be her gymnastic skills. She finds perches anywhere and climbs just about anything.

Basically, she’s really hard to spot. Almost better at camouflage than the Spy.

Fem!Soldier

Much like her counterpart, she is incredibly patriotic and was prevented from joining the army.

However she was denied for stupid reasons like

“this is the 40s and girls can’t be soldiers”

and “No you can’t be a nurse either, especially when you tell us you plan on going AWOL”

and “For Christ’s sake girl you’re obviously not 18. You can’t join the army, you’re a child.”

Didn’t stop her from training though! By the time the 60s rolled around she’s more than able.

She’s really good at playing the trumpet. Absolutely shreds that thing.

She’s also an idiot, but a happier idiot.

Fem!Spy

Good relationship with Scout although they’re not related. Basically the inverse of C!Scout and C!Spy’s relationship.

Hear me out. She’s a stoner.

The predominant way she attacks is via poisons. They have effects such as temporarily blinding a player or reducing their muscle movement.

Also holograms. She has hologram gadgets.

She’s still French and has expensive taste, just less uptight.

Pyro

Does not wear a full gas mask, but wears a face covering and goggles and usually has a hood up along with gloves, long sleeves, and boots. So it’s the same effect.

They are completely nonverbal. (Can’t talk, not just a muffled voice.)

They really like cars. Surprisingly, not just for the gasoline.

They’re about as much of an enigma as canon!pyro, with the exception that their hair is sometimes visible.

Bit of a loner honestly.

Fem!Medic

She’s British! She is also exiled from England and banned from the UK.

Yes it was for the medical malpractice.

She has antidotes for Spy’s poisons. They have a rivalry that matches canon Spy and Engineer’s but with fem!spy being more like engineer in this case.

She’s an aunt in personality. “Love, dear, darling,” etc. are an integral part of her dialogue.

She’s crazy as the canon medic but in the opposite way. She has an abundance of calmness and apathy as opposed to his surplus of exuberance.

Fem!Engineer

Probably the most similar her counterpart.

She’s got the Southern charm. the subtle god complex, and the country-isums.

Unlike C!Engineer, however, she’s not a patient person. She has a temper like hot coals.

She remains a sweet smiling Southern bell when she’s furious, her tone doesn’t change but her actions do. She gets violent.

She never shows physical signs of anger. No red face or growling or anything like that. Just gets a vicious smile and glare.

Fem!Demo

Also very similar to her counterpart in personality but not in background.

Really jolly and friendly. And loud.

Has extreme bad luck. Like, comically bad luck. Her last name may as well be Murphy.

She, however, does not believe in luck.

She’s an orphan who grew up apprenticing under several types of demolition jobs.

Eventually she was refused by everyone else because every mentor that took her on would end up blown up by their own had within the year.

Fem!Heavy

She builds her weapons herself. She’s incredibly resourceful and a scavenger by habit.

Kazakh.

She likes collecting little things. She has a giant doll house filled with miniatures of everyday objects.

She’s completely stoic when in battle. Big, intimidating, quiet, doberman type.

Outside of fighting, though, she’s a really gentle and good humored person. She has an affinity for Sniper’s antics.
