I was listening to the Mamma Mia 2 soundtrack again and I got Icemav thoughts:

If "Andate, Andate," is Maverick to Ice, then "The Name of the Game" is Ice to Maverick.

Goose: Mav, you want to know who the best is? That's him: Iceman. It's the way he flies, ice cold, no mistakes.

Imagine a song fic based on "For Good" from Wicked where all Slider can do, a few days after Ice's death, think about the message he received from his best friend that morning, and realising that it was a goodbye: "Let me say this, Sli; so much of me is what I've learned from you. And whatever way your story ends, I can say for a fact that you have rewritten mine, by being my friend. And I know it was for good."

And Slider feels the same way because he knows that he and Ice changed each other, permanently, inescapably. But he thinks that it was for the better; that it was for good.

Songs that are Icemav coded

Okay, so you'll have to hear me out, but the song "Tightrope" from The Greatest Showman is so Icemav-coded; every time I listen to it, it's all I can think of.

"Hand in my hand, and we promised to never let go" would so be Ice's hope that they would always be wingmen and how he doesn't want to lose Maverick.

"Will you catch me if I should fall?" is so Maverick worrying if Ice will still want him when he's at worst (or when Bradley leaves after the whole paper-pulling mess).

"And I risk it all for this life we choose" describes both of their worries with the risks their relationship poses (fuck DADT) and how they're both risking their entire careers and lives to be together in secret.

Also, I think the whole "we're walking the tightrope" applies to their relationship because they go from being in a safe place but the next move they make, they could end up on the ground.
