From my observation, It is the highlander costume that is first seen at RAH. Its style is in the same vein as the RAH costume, which is kind of different from the other highlanders.
So this costume is apparently called the ‘Scotsman’. It’s worn by Donald Craig in the new London production… @operafantomet is this a new costume or have I just never seen it before?
Thank you so much!
Hello Anea! I'm from that franken-star princess Instagram. First, I really really love your blog! It helps me so much with the costuming and almost everything POTO related 💖🙏
Secondly, would you mind making a compilation of European Star Princess puff sleeves? It'd be the big help for my art project ❤️
Oh, but SURE! Here's a random selection of versions I like, or where the photo is good and shows details well.
Kimilee Bryant, Basel:
Colleen Besett, Vienna:
Viktoria Krantz Tocca, Copenhagen:
Hanne Damm, Copenhagen:
Isabel Schwartzbach, Copenhagen:
Anne Görner, Essen:
Elizabeth Welch, Oberhausen:
Elena Bahtiyarova, Moscow:
Amy Manford, West End:
... and keep up the good work <3
A throwback to HNY card of 2020-2021 that I did! It's probably not in the best state at the moment, but I'm still proud of those drop dead gorgeous embroideries and details I've had added to the wishing gown.
2021-2022 HNY card is on its way. I might make it PC wallpaper friendly or something ☺️
Beaded wedding dress bodices: inspirations
When I started on my wedding dress replica back in the days I was so fascinated by those doing ornate, yet fairly subtle beading over the bust instead of the lace fan decorations. Here’s some of the c. 2000 European dresses that inspired me.
Hanne Damm, Copenhagen 2001
Silvia Luchetti, Madrid 2002
Susanne Elmark, Copenhagen 2000
Bodice backstage in Copenhagen, 2002
Colby Thomas, Hamburg 2001
My own replica, still without a basque
Celia Graham, West End 2002
Anne Görner, Essen 2005
Deborah Dutcher, West End 2000
(original design by Maria Bjørnson)
that was an amazing read! Maman I love 😍🖐🏻
My lovelies… The article I’ve written on Maria Bjørnson’s costume design for The Phantom of the Opera is now out:
