I walk around my hometown, specifically the place i grew up in. I've always viewed this place as pretty safe. Even as a little girl. It's astounding how children can't fear things the way we do. So why force them to fear? Why teach them from an early age that there is a god to be feared. That parents should be feared. That eating 'too much' should be feared. That self expression should be feared. That standing out should be feared. Why? Why not just let them discover themselves first. If i was taught to fear actual threats instead of myself and my power, i would feel less small and insignificant today at my big age. And maybe i would fear the right things. Perhaps i would be more at ease with my humanity.

Safe to say, my parents did NOT get to choose. I was born a daughter of Cain.
