Good wood - escape the cold in this sublime chalet in the Canadian Blue Mountains. Toronto based firm Atelier Kastelic Buffey completed this contrasting black and white ski chalet in Ontario’s Blue Mountains, echoing the forms of the area’s traditional barns and farmhouses.

Raimund Abraham, Delancey Tower, (2005)
An unrealized project by Abraham for a structure on Delancey Street on the Lower East Site of Manhattan.
“In what direction is architecture moving? Architecture moves toward itself to dissolve in itself. To become speechless for the sake of silence, Yet filled with the desire to signify it’s solitude. Silent, unknown, sign. In the written image: Immutable. In the drawn image: unspeakable. In the built image: uninhabitable. The mystery of these images becomes the myth of the journey of architecture. And the odyssey of the imaginary inhabitants Who attempt to decipher them.”
-Maurice Blanchot, ”The Song of the Sirens”
(Quoted by Abraham in his essay, “Speechless”, first published in: Exhibition Catalogue: Grenzliien/Borderlines, Technical University of Graz, Austria, (1989))
