Why the quotations around the word mango, Anon? I am very confused. Otherwise, I would gladly do it

I can totally imagine my OTP in this situation

Years of desperation, of pain, hunger, stress, and fear. Years of abuse, manipulation, betrayals, and abandonment. All of it kept pilling up endlessly, wearing you down, fraying your edges and chipping away at your soul, until finally… you simply couldn’t take it anymore.

People saw you as strong, fearless, and unwavering, but it was all a lie. You were so tired, so broken, so very very fragile, but no one ever saw it. No one ever saw you. They didn’t want to. 

When you went to them, you had fully hoped expected, that you would be meeting your end.

How ironic it was, that when you finally found a place of safety and kindness, it was in the arms of the enemy.
