But why? Why come here? Because this is home.

Everyone wants to go home to die.

A nine panel comic done in a realistic style with a muted and neutral color palette with an overlay to make it appear as if it was a physical screen printed comic. The first four panels shows a series of details from a larger room: a tiled floor with a large, black window in the wall, a ceiling corner with an air conditioning vent and smoke detector, the handle of a door with another black window, and a security camera mounted in the corner of a room. The next panels are two hallways, one that turns into an unseen corner with a large black stain on the floor and the other that ends with a simple white door. The next panel is a simple drawing of a house on a landscape with the sun behind it, the house is on fire with flames coming out of the window. In the next, the house is a smoking pile with the sun now lower in the sky. The final panel is the door of an apartment opening away from the viewer to show black. The text of the comic is “at a certain point routine becomes comfort / you have to walk through here to reach it. eventually you learn to see them everywhere. infrared footprints, the hallway that always bruises with your weight. the familiar evergreen hum. i have opened every door / and still haven’t found it. i have opened every door and every room was empty. / a single body, coming back to itself.”
An illustration of Dina (she/he) in a realistic style with a saturated palette of pinks, oranges, and yellows. Centered in the piece are two heads in profile, to the right is Dina’s face and to the left is a vertical bisection of a human head. Two rays extend from Dina’s eye to become graphed points. Towards the near of the bisection are two blue nodules that travel down the spinal cord and eventually meet a small cube room at the bottom of the composition. The fourth wall of the room is removed so the viewer can look inside and see a small figure of Dina standing beneath a hanging ceiling lamp with her face turned towards the viewer. There is a single window opposite to him and from it the blue line continues out it and turns down, cut off by the border.
