sidestep died for your sins
(reposted cause tumblr suppressed my last post for some reason)
put on a damn helmet you idiots
LEAVE HIM ALONE!!! LEAVE NIKKI ALONE!!!
time to dump all my sidestep art and run! did i spend way too much time thinking about this? y e ah,
This is my Sidestep, Rose Becker, AKA Spectre.
I’ll post a stat sheet later :)
notes below cut
she has bad taste, ty for reading
keeps that face scar covered almost all the time
got it during HB, window go smash-o-crash
suit made to steal stuff, gets giant glowing logo on the front
nice job idiot
better HIGHLIGHT the zone I don’t want punched (the glow can be turned off tho)
ALSO FEATHERY SHOULDER PADS BABYYY
wanted heels but couldn’t do that with jump jets, so shes got some clunky wedge boots as a concession
why did mortum enable her poor choices
in retribution she starts wearing black turtlenecks, leather pants, and a lil’ skull necklace; looks too sinister, gotta throw on a hawaiian shirt over it all to throw ‘em off the scent
Rose, probably: “Leather pants = Villain, Right?”
(Steel: Suspicion +5) (Ortega: Suspicion -5) “A fashion disaster, seems normal to me, Chen.”
pre HB wearing joggers and sweatshirts over suit at ALL TIMES, ready to go do some sweet backflips and bad guy punching always
sweatshirt from a thrift shop, “Mr. Whiskers 6th Birthday Bash”; prob her fave sweatshirt @ the time because “Mr. Whiskers” definitely became an inside joke b/w her and Ortega
high daring/high empathy; outsider scar+inevitability motive, filled with guilt and regret, just generally bad at being bad.
“Yeah, i may have saved those civilians BUT i am also here to commit crime???cr i m e??? please punch me now”
this is the mood (x)
god Herald won her over so easy by being genuine and nice and heroic; she’s a sucker
Rose is that special blend of high empathy/daring that I like to refer to as “soft-hearted dumbass”
Also, her arrogance level fluctuates wildly and mostly rockets up when she compulsively drops hints about being a villain to everyone within earshot >;)
kickass sidestep template created by @unitedrussia :)
and sidestep’s face remains a mystery… (for now)
bonus:
(spoiler: he did warm up to her)
Just started reading 'Fallen Hero: Rebirth' and wanted to give a face for my anti-hero emo dude Luke Travis.
Thanks @westealtoys for introducing me to this story. :) I guess I will get obsessed with it very soon too. :D
Rough sketch of Luke and his puppet Christine.
No clear idea yet how I will go about background (them being in some balcony/terrace, kind of?), though still wanted to share work progress of younger Ortega and my Sidestep Luke. :)
It is my first try to draw a coloured art for Fallen Hero, I am so excited ^^
Sidestep and Ortega in earlier days
In this piece tried to capture their characters' and age difference. No clue where they are in this pic, balcony/terrace/rooftop or something like that? Just wanted to create some atmosphere heh.
Luke is surely plotting something heheh
Gonna add some details and mask part later of course, but really wanted to try to make a rough sketch of my Sidestep in his new costume :)
Sooooo... question for Luke. How vicious was he in the Rangers fight?
Thanks for the ask! ^^
For starters, just to know the general image about him, no matter how hard Luke tried to be a villain, he always had self doubts about his evil plans. But anyway, when the big day has come, he was excited for the show to come, of course.
Even if his empathy showed more than ruthlessness in most of the situations, Luke was quite cruel against Herald. It was probably mostly because he's a relatively new to the Rangers' crew and Luke wanted to teach him a lesson, to show the brutal side of reality. Also, Luke couldn't resist not to tell a monologue like a true villain in the very end of their fight, and of course it backfired as he got Ortega punching him from the back (that part kinda made me laugh, I mean Luke completely deserved it, what an idiot :D).
Fighting Ortega, at first Luke enjoyed that feeling of them fighting as equals, that he knows the style Ricardo fights and that Luke can win this thing. Though in the end he started having doubts again, it felt so wrong to hurt Ortega, that Luke couldn't knock him out, just left him bleeding on the ground. Luke secretly wished, that Ortega could stop him.
And Argent's fight was the most challenging one for sure. Luke tried to distract her by taunting, but she wasn't easily shaken. He barely avoided her claws way too many times so he chose to flee underground. When he realized that the fight is not over and Lady Argent found him, Luke prepared himself for an ambush. He still had hard time fighting her, so he used a vicious telepathic trick to make Argent choking, and that's the way he managed to bring her down. Although, when her unconscious body fell into the rushing water, Luke couldn't leave her to drown and dragged her up to the safe ground.
So I'd say all in all, he did some evil things during the fight and injured the Rangers quite much, but he wasn't a merciless one.
Tried to make slight evolution of the way Luke looked in events of first and second book, and it kinda turns out like psychological portraits of him too. Earlier Luke's (on left) hair is more messy, he looks deep in thought and completely confused and lacking confidence, seeing himself as a nobody. The right one is Luke after revealing himself as a villain. That portrait of him shows way more confidence and seems more relaxed and also flirty? :)
By the way, picture on his jacket is about his villain's name - Seth, which I gave after ancient Egypt's deity of chaos and violence.
