I’ve vaguely mentioned it once or twice, but I haven’t properly drawn anything about it.

Riley has a relationship with one of the New Vegas companions far prior to the start of the game’s canon: our boy Raul Tejada! He was a friend of Riley’s mother, Ellie, when he was a child. So Raul was sort of an uncle to Riley growing up. Long story short, they’d lose contact quickly after his mother’s ‘disappearance’ and wouldn’t see each other until Riley’s return to the Mojave on a delivery. He tried searching for Raul in his shack, but no luck. But one radio broadcast (and one panic attack) later and Riley ends up finding our dude held captive by Tabitha. And now he’s travelling with Riley on his crazy bullshit journey to help the Mojave.

And having Raul back in his life is uh. Interesting.

I know they try to have counterparts between the romance options and that Sam and Penny are considered counterparts because they both provide for their dysfunctional families financially (at least I assume that's the connection there, they don't really interact at all), but I really would have loved to see the dynamic between Penny and Alex. Not just because I like them both the best (though that too) but because Alex had a shitty abusive father and I could imagine him saying all the things he wanted to say to his dad, to Pam instead in Penny's honor

Not even as like a romantic thing just like, an unexpected friendship between the head empty jock and the bookish wallflower because they both recognize that they deserve better than the way their parents treated them

fun fact about mormons (especially the Utah ones) they can't drink coffee/hot beverages. so they LOVE their soda. Utah is kinda infamous for their soda shops and "dirty soda" for this reason. anyways i imagine after living away from the rest of society for so long joshua would go ape shit hearing the shhhh sound of cracking open a nuka cola for the first time in years

Honestly, if Raul came across Cooper Howard I think within two minutes he’d be like ‘hey, aren’t you that gringo who did all those shitty cowboy movies?’ and then it would just be two old ghoul men fighting. Which is beautiful, but they’re both too old for that shit no matter how many chems Coop takes on the daily. Besides, Raul would win.
