The fandom not only twist Stiles' character and damage his characterization but take something from Deaton's words and twist it into a new species to create to make Stiles a supernatural rather than have him as the investigative human of the pack. The toxic half of the fandom cannot stand a Latino character being the main character and the center stage of the show.

Man, sometimes the Teen Wolf fandom makes me dislike Stiles. And I enjoy his character (because he's flawed and sometimes just plain wrong), but "Stiles should be the main character" makes me want to kill him off in increasingly dumb ways in fics.

Stiles drinks paint thinner because warnings are a suggestion. Stiles licks an asbestos wall because he's tough too. Stiles uses his spark (something that doesn't exist) and gets run over by a car.

These two would have been partners in crime, their intelligence, tech savvy, knowledge of supernaturals and sass would have been amazing and helped give the show more screen time to POC in Teen Wolf💯💯💯 but no...we were robbed of Danny after season 3B😑😑 and Mason is underappreciated and underestimated in the show.
