Teen Wolf Fandom Problems - Tumblr Posts

As much as I love Isaac💯💯❤️❤️, I also love Allison too. this post demonstrates the standard reaction and why Allison is justified in the way she feels about Derek and his pack, since:

1) Derek, Isaac, Erica and Boyd were going to kill Lydia, the very first friend she made on her first day in Beacon Hills High. Isaac and Erica were sent to kill Lydia under the blind assumption (by their Alpha) that she was the Kanima.

2) Derek bit her mother, and while Gerard did scheme and commenced the machinations to manipulate Allison through the loss of Victoria, Derek did still bite her, which for any hunter, regardless whether or not the bite kills them, they are already a dead person by their code.

I love both characters and enjoy writing them out, but the Fandom tends to make things toxic with the apparent racist and misogynist elements in it that ruin it for the good members of the Fandom who likes to enjoy the show for it's storyline and character developments. Plus I do enjoy being a Allisaac shipper, which this scene foreshadows their relationship before the tragic fate of Allison.

I love Scott McCall dearly❤️❤️ the way the fandom that are toxic and racist input these kinds of fanon elements in the story that make Scott look like the bad one and the "bad friend" trope is irritating and plain prejudice. Scott loved and protected his friends to the point he died for them.

I love Stiles and I don't hate him as a character, but there are flaws that he commits that makes it questionable at times. But the toxic half of the fandom love to twist and recreate him in their own way to make him have all of Scott's traits and make him look good while Scott is either the "bad friend", the "side character", or "centered around Stiles". The fanon tend to ruin both Scott's and Stiles' image because they want a white character to be the main character because they cannot stand or relate to a main character who is Latino and a POC.

Since I'm back in my teen wolf obsession after the movie I'm just gonna say it. The vitriolic hatred for both Scott McCall and Tyler Posey was just fucking racism. There was literally no reason to hate them so much and every excuse I've seen people have for hating Scott is that he didn't center himself around Stiles (his white friend) more.

Scott McCall's only flaw was that he loved his friends too much and he was too trusting and forgiving of people.

I'm all for ship and let ship but Tyler is right about Sterek being weird. Stiles was a minor and Derek was at least 20-23 and as a former Sterek shipper who has seen the light. I don't blame Tyler. Y'all got hella annoying with that ship.

Sterek was never queerbait

Stiles and Derek did not like each other. They only tolerated each other because of Scott. Derek literally says he only came back to beacon hills for Scott. Y'all let Dylan and Tyler Hoechiln convince you otherwise.

Also people hating Scott is another case of white people having this weird issue with not being able to relate to a poc character because y'all literally take all of Scott's traits and give them to Stiles (because mostly I only see white people hating him and a few people of color)

The "iconic" baseball batt and red hoodie y'all love to give Stiles is literally what Scott was wearing in episode 1 of Season 1

EDIT: I'll also never forgive you FREAKS for bullying Tyler Posey after his mom died and said it was karma for saying sterek is weird. You people are fucking sick, disgusting pathetic excuses of a human being--no you're not human. You're literal scum for doing that.

Stiles and Dylan O'Brien were not the face of Teen Wolf. It is Tyler and Scott. Hell for example the sims 3 Supernatural. The werewolf on the cover looks like season 1 Scott.

I LOVE Stiles but those certain Stiles fans have put a sour taste in my mouth for the character.

Also the "Scott McCall is a bad friend" tag is so dumb cause Stiles and every other character on that show would laugh in your face if you tried to tell them that

The fandom not only twist Stiles' character and damage his characterization but take something from Deaton's words and twist it into a new species to create to make Stiles a supernatural rather than have him as the investigative human of the pack. The toxic half of the fandom cannot stand a Latino character being the main character and the center stage of the show.

Man, sometimes the Teen Wolf fandom makes me dislike Stiles. And I enjoy his character (because he's flawed and sometimes just plain wrong), but "Stiles should be the main character" makes me want to kill him off in increasingly dumb ways in fics.

Stiles drinks paint thinner because warnings are a suggestion. Stiles licks an asbestos wall because he's tough too. Stiles uses his spark (something that doesn't exist) and gets run over by a car.

#remember when the fandom called Scott a gaslighter over this

@bucksboobs I believe it made it to Athena's 'checklist' of examples of Scott hitting all the boxes on being a textbook abuser. Because much like the obvious case of the show being told through the lens of the unreliable narrator and it was really about Derek and Stiles all along, with Scott being the Anakin character destined to fall to darkness, it was a given that he was canonically twisting the truth in this scene, as was his wont. There was never any possibility that these words could be taken at face value and Isaac, indeed, was on watch last.

Not to mention that in this fandom specifically some have become so comfortable that they actually have zero qualms expressing their true nature. Artichoke dark, anyone?

Indisputably

@camelotpark I can't get over the idea that 'you can't be racist against Scott McCall unless you specifically declare you hate him for being Latino," while every reason these people give could be applied to their favorite white male character just as easily.

If you hate Scott McCall because he didn't realize Stiles was in trouble in the swimming pool during the Abomination (2x04) while he and Allison were trying to break into Gerard Argent's safe but you don't hate Stiles for almost shooting Scott in the head with a crossbow bolt in Venomous (2x05) or becoming MVP of the Lacrosse Championship while Scott was fighting for his life in the locker room in Battlefield (2x11), you might be racist.

If you hate Scott McCall because he told Derek that werewolf hunters might have a reason to hunt werewolves in Magic Bullet (1x04), but you don't hate Stiles when he told Derek that he killed Laura because he was jealous of her turning into a full wolf in Second Chance at First Line (1x02), you might be racist.

If you hate Scott McCall because he didn't put aside the trauma of being gassed to death by Victoria Argent for the crime of dating her daughter so he could tell Allison the truth and thus 'protect Derek's pack,' but you don't hate Derek for not putting aside his trauma and telling Scott about how Kate seduced him and thus 'protect Scott," you might be racist.

If you hate Scott McCall because he went with Deucalion rather than staying with Stiles in The Overlooked (3x10) because he didn't think he had any choice, but you don't hate Stiles for not telling Scott about Donovan when it first happened because Stiles didn't think he had any choice, you might be racist.

I could go on for like, an hour. All these events have context, but if your hatred of the lead protagonist is based on stripping these scenes of all context and all empathy, you might, just might be acting in a racist manner without consciously declaring that you are about to do that.

"I'm not racist unless I say I'm being racist" is not a logical argument.
