I am now displaced in a tent in the city of Khan Yunis, south of Gaza, with my son Hamoud, 14 months old, and my husband Ayman, who lost his job as a fisherman because his fishing boat was destroyed. We are now without food, polluted water and clothes. The situation has become catastrophic. Umm, was reading a fic and it had an earthquake and then.. uh... And then the solution was rushing everyone indoors?!
You guys, what is taught about emergency actions in case of an earthquake over there?! because it is Not rushing indoors or under tables, what the fuck, that's just asking to get crushed!
Get outside, preferably open ground, preferably away from any building structures and then sit down if you can. The jolts and waves can be handled but remaining indoors is a lot more dangerous. It is only safe in a special case when the building is very highly earthquake proof. Learn something from the animals, they evacuate minutes before the waves hit
i'm just curious bc i'm watching How to Train Your Dragon and i always forget how happy and calm it makes me feel. i mean, i did name my cat after Toothless the dragon. but i also love Lion King, that's my Disney comfort movie. and my Ghibli comfort movie is Spirited Away. watching any of these when i'm in a foul mood or my anxiety is high always helps 🥰 but i watch them just for fun too, not only when i'm in a mood. what about you?
