Jungkook waited by his phone to see if maybe you would text him, but he knew you would be hanging out with your crush Taehyung today. If he was being honest, he was worried. He didn’t know why but he just had a bad feeling about it, so he made sure to cancel all his plans just in case you called.

You couldn’t be any happier though. Taehyung had invited you to dinner, a thing you two used to do a lot before he suddenly stopped inviting you. You didn’t think too much of why he did since he had just gotten a new job so you assumed he was busy, you’re just glad that he finally has time for himself again.

Taehyung takes you to a new restaurant, one you’ve never been too before. He’s excited to show you and you’re excited that he’s excited, it’s been so long since you two last hung out.

The last time being Christmas but you’ve forgotten all about that incident.

You and Taehyung sat as you waited for your waitress to come, and she immediately comes almost running. The girl clears her throat before introducing herself to Taehyung. You looked up and recognized her, she was in one of your art classes, Jennie. She was absolutely gorgeous and definitely Taehyungs type. It was even rumored that they were hooking up but you never believed them since Taehyung said he wasn’t that type of guy.

He was far too busy and wanted a real love story.

But now seeing how she’s glaring at you, you’re starting to believe differently.

You picked at your napkin as she blatantly flirted with Taehyung completely ignoring you. You felt her eyes shift to you every now and then.

She’s so judging you right now.

You probably look so bad.

Why did you wear a dress?

Why can’t you be pretty like her?

You sighed and Taehyung glanced at you, seeing how bored you looked.

He felt bad since Jennie always became somewhat of a chatterbox around him, but tonight was about you and him.

He gave her a short response before smiling.

“We’ll call you back when we’re ready to order.”

Taehyung dismissed Jennie, making her pout and go back to glaring at you.

You bounced in your seat, happy that you get him all to yourself now.

Taehyung flipped through the menu as he suddenly remembered something he’d been meaning to ask you.

“Y/n how much do you pay your trainer?”

You looked up from the menu.

“My trainer?”

“Yea the guy you always work out with,” Taehyung glanced at you,” the one with all the tattoos.”

Oh right. He’s talking about Jungkook.

“Oh,” you awkwardly smiled,” he’s not my trainer- he’s my friend! We work out together since he says it’s funner to do it together and he actually-“

“You were serious about that?”

You blinked.

“W-Well yea?”

“Oh I see,” Taehyung looked down at his menu before continuing,” be careful then.”

“What?”

He bit his lip thinking if he should continue but went against his better judgement because, why else would someone like him be interested in you?

“Well there’s lots of men who would take advantage of girls like you.”

Girls like you.

He means fat girls.

Your skin prickled with a hint of what you think might actually be anger.

You held back a scoff.

“What do you mean girls like me?”

Taehyung looked at you wide eyed and shocked from how strong you sounded,” I- I meant like- you know…” his voice trailed but it added weight to the lump in your chest.

“No I don’t know.”

He sighed loudly before whispering as if it was such a scandalous conversation.

“Y/n come on,” Taehyung tried to think before he spoke but alas, he still spoke,” like bigger girls…there’s guys at the gym who take advantage of bigger girls because they’re inexperienced and-“

“Jungkook’s not like that,” You felt your ears blush with frustration,” he’s sweet and caring and he’s never once even tried to take advantage of me.”

“Ok I’m sorry,” he put his hands up in defense,” all I’m saying is to be careful.”

Before you could respond and tell him that you and Jungkook were just friends, and he’d never do anything to hurt you, Jennie came back to take your order.

Taehyung looked relieved to see her, she’d understand what he was trying to say.

“Are you ready?” She twirled her hair and she spoke to Taehyung only, again.

“Yes,” he smiled at her,”I’ll have the steak, well done.”

“Great choice,” she turned to you with half assed energy,” and you?”

You quickly looked down at the menu to avoid their eyes,” I’ll have the chicken with Mac and cheese.”

Jennie cleared her throat before leaning into you to whisper, but not low enough so Taehyung couldn’t hear.

She wanted him to hear.

“Y/n we have salads if you’d rather have that.” She smiled innocently, but you saw right through it. Taehyung on the other hand, was eating up her innocent act.

Jennie was always the sweetest, she probably knew about your new lifestyle change since you’ve been posting your new recipes on your Instagram. Taehyung thinks Jennie was just trying to help you out since you’re going to the gym and you were on a diet, it would probably be better if you ordered a salad.

You've been working hard and he’d hate to be the one to make you fall back into old habits.

He smiled at you and his mouth flew before his brain could walk and process Jennie’s true intentions.

“Actually the salads here are really good here, Y/n, I’ll order one with you,” he leaned to you to whisper, thinking he was being discreet,” so you don’t break your…diet.”

Your heart stopped, everything around you became silent, like it was just you in this world.

Your eyes prickled with tears but you weren’t going to cry.

They’re patronizing you.

You smiled through the heart break that Taehyung left you in.

“I’ll have the orange chicken salad then.”

Jennie licked her lips smugly before writing down your order.

“I’ll have that one too.” Taehyung smiled at you not seeing how your bottom lip quivered.

“I’ll be back with your drinks.” She winked at Taehyung before leaving.

The silence was awkward, so awkward it hurt. The air around you was thick, you couldn’t breath.

Taehyung played with his thumbs feeling the awkward tension.

Maybe he crossed a line.

You hummed,” I’m going to the bathroom really quickly.”

He nodded his head and smiled at you.

You didn’t really have to go to the bathroom, you just needed to take a deep breath for just a second.

You walked out to the balcony they had and looked out into the night sky. Luckily it was a slow night so you were the only one there.

You took a deep breath, taking in the light jazz music and chilly air that surrounded you.

Why are you embarrassed?

He’s just trying to help you out.

He’s looking out for you.

He really does care for you!

You agreed with that shrill voice in your head, Taehyung was always so nice and considerate of others. That was one of the reasons why you fell for him, he always noticed little details about you and he always found ways to make you smile.

But now it was actually starting to get hard to see those reasons, it was like all his little comments were overshadowing what you felt was immense love for him.

You sighed before going to wash your hands.

You’re being dramatic

It’s not that deep

You took a deep breath before locking away any feelings you had.

You weren’t going to ruin one of the few times Taehyung invited you out.

You walked back into the restaurant to see Jennie back at your table once again flirting with Taehyung.

He saw you and smiled,” I’ll see you in class Jennie.”

He waved her off and put his attention on you again.

She snickered before leaving, she really was flirting since she didn’t even bring your food yet.

You wanted to scoff but went against it because Taehyung was more important. You heart swirled with love for him but you still had that lump that slowed down its swirls. Something nasty nipped inside your heart and head.

Remember when he called you fat earlier?

You ignored your thoughts so you could listen to Taehyung talk about his new project.

The rest of the night was actually fun. Taehyung didn’t bring up anything about Jungkook again. He was talking to you like an actual friend.

No talk about the gym or your diet. He talked to you like he used to.

After much talking and giggling you both finished your meals, content with the salads.

It actually wasn’t that bad, thanks Jennie

Taehyung put his hand on the small of your back to guide you outside.

“Want me to take you home? Looks like it’s gonna rain.”

You looked up at the sky, it was starting to drizzle just a little.

“Actually Yoon’s going to come pick me up,” you forced a smiled,” I’ll just wait here for her.”

“Are you sure?” Taehyung asked, feeling his phone buzzing in his pocket, knowing it was probably Jennie since she always was a jealous one.

“I’m sure.”

“Then I’ll see you tomorrow?” Taehyung patted your head before smiling, you hummed hoping he’d just leave already so you could go home and play online with Jungkook.

Jungkook.

Jungkook would never have treated you like that.

Jungkook would have said something to them.

He would have told Jennie to mind her business.

You felt yourself sniffling and went to wipe your face clean. You felt small drops of water but assumed it was the rain but then you noticed you were under a small terrace.

You were crying.

You pulled your fingers back and wondered why you were crying. Now you can’t stop crying and you don’t realize that your finger was hovering over Jungkooks contact name. Calling him made all the emotions that you pushed away flooded back to you like a broken dam, the pressure of the intense feelings made you bawl your eyes out in front of the restaurant.

You needed him.

You just hope he wasn’t busy.

Jungkook was in fact not busy, he was reading a manga you let him borrow when he heard his phone ring. His book flew across the room as he jumped to answer.

His heart did an awesome 360 flip in his chest as he answered the phone.

“Well well well, how’s your date going?” He smirked but instead of hearing you gush he heard you sniffling.

He panicked.

“Y/n? Are you okay? Hey, what's wrong? Y/n-“

“C-Can you- can you come get me please.” You sobbed and sniffled, making the ache in Jungkooks heart hurt really fucking bad.

“Fuck okay- fuck send me your location,” Jungkook jumped out of his bed,” don’t go anywhere Im coming!” He grabbed his Spider-Man crocs and his roommates keys before hightailing it to you.

Jungkook talked to himself before getting there.

She probably saw a sad movie.

Nothing happened.

She’s fine.

Unless she’s not.

Then we’ll beat Taehyungs ass.

Then take her home and cuddle her.

Maybe kiss her cheeks a little.

Jungkook smiled but felt his happy place break when he saw you sitting outside of the restaurant.

He was furious, there you sat looking cuter than he’s ever seen you before, today should have been great for you, amazing even! Yet you sat there looking down at your lap, visibly sniffing. He wanted to hug you and ask you what happened, he wanted to console you, really.

But his anger took over so the first thing he did was ask where Taehyung was.

You looked up at him, and his heart broke in a million pieces. Your makeup was messed up and your eyes were puffy and red from crying. You sobbed more when you realized he was there.

“He- He went home.” You cried.

“He just left you here?” Jungkook looked upset.

“N-No I told him to go, I said I was going to wait for Yoon.”

“Whens she coming? I’ll wait with you-“

You whined,” Jungkook, I don’t wanna go home.”

Jungkook sighed before bringing you in for a tight hug, he almost broke your bones from how hard he squeezed but it made you feel so much better.

It was almost exactly what you needed.

Just a hug.

Jungkook decided that you’d spend the night at his place, besides he’s been wanting to show you his action figure collection so it was like a win-win situation.

A sleepover and he gets to show off.

“Please don’t ask what happened,” you pouted, melting Jungkook‘s heart.

Jungkook rolled his eyes, he really wanted to know what happened,”let’s go.”

You sniffled as he took your hand and led you to the car.

“Are you taking me home?”

“No.”

“Where are we going?”

Jungkook stopped in his tracks to turn around and face you. His heart was absolutely torn apart, your makeup was gone and your usual smile was nowhere to be seen.

“Do you trust me?”

“Are you gonna like,” you sniffled,” like murder me?”

Jungkook scoffed,” I literally took you out the other day in the middle of the night but now you’re worried I’m going to murder you?”

You shrugged,” I don’t know how murderers work, you could have just been buttering me up I don’t know.”

“Just follow me,” he grabbed your hand again,” always on your clown shit.”

Jungkook somehow knew it was going to rain and borrowed his Hyungs jeep, without permission but he won’t tell you that.

He buckled your seatbelt in before driving off in silence. Jungkook took this opportunity to let you cry all you needed.

Once you arrived to his apartment, you were in a much better mood. He unlocked the door and showed you around a little but it was his room he was most excited to show you.

“Your apartment is nice.” You sniffled.

“Thanks, Hyung and Noona don’t let me decorate because they don’t want a bunch of Spider-Man stuff around- luckily I can decorate my room,” Jungkook did a whole twirl before opening his door for you,” tada~”

It was a typical Jungkook setting. Everything was black except for his Spider-Man moodlamp that was glowing. One wall was full of Spider-Man figurines and another with small Pokémon ones.

He excitedly sat on his computer chair and showed you his baby.

“Built this girly myself.” He tapped her like he would a hood of a car.

You chuckled, he looked so happy and you don’t know what came over you but you started crying again making him bite his lip in worry.

He let you cry, closing the door behind you so his Hyung wouldn’t come snooping.

Jungkook laid on his bed before tapping a spot on his chest.

You instantly knew what he was telling you.

“I-I’m too heavy..” You cried.

“So you can’t be cuddled because you’re too heavy?“ Jungkook scoffed, getting up to pull on your sleeve,”Don’t piss me off y/n these hands are rated E for everyone, Now come.”

You gulped and decided to do what he said to avoid angering him. You started to feel bad, you probably ruined his weekend and now you were annoying him in his own house.

“S-Sorry.” You pouted

“Why are you apologizing?” He wrapped his arms around you to pull you into his chest.

“B-Because,” you sighed,” I don’t know.”

Jungkook tried to hide his anger so you would feel better but seeing you cry made his blood boil.

It took every fiber of Jungkooks body not to go look for Taehyung and beat the shit out of him. He really had to hold you tight to dissolve any anger he had in his veins.

It was working for you too since he felt you relax in his arms, eventually falling asleep.

Jungkook hugged you tighter and kissed the top of your hair, feeling frustrated that he could not do a single thing.

Your body still shook every now and then but slowly stopped when he started patting your back. He felt the angry flame in his body die down with every breath you took.

Then your phone rang.

“Asshole.” Jungkook grumbled before snuggling into you.

He’s going to make you the best breakfast tomorrow.

That’s why when he saw you, he instantly attached himself to you like a piece of gum that you couldn’t scrape off your shoe, except you kind of don’t want to scrap him off of your shoe.

You reminded Jungkook a lot of his best friends Yoongi and Yoonji, very shy but you were way, way cuter and you laughed at his jokes instead of calling him a dumbass.

It’s been a week since you first met and he feels you’re warming up to him already.

You didn’t know why, you've always been on the shyer and even cautious side, but maybe it was because to Jungkook, you’re just you and you’re really starting to like being just you.

Jungkook waits for you on the treadmill now, excited to have a new buddy to work out with.

You remembered just a couple days ago when Jungkook came up with his revolutionary idea. He was doing his weights when he was feeling just a little lonely and saw you looking a little lonely too. He walked up to your treadmill, hanging on the front like he didn’t care about his safety. You stared at him wondering what he possibly could be doing.

“Hey!” Jungkook said a little bit too loud,” what if we work out together?”

You sighed feeling bad that no one offered him any help.

Now you find yourself watching Jungkook dominate the bicep bars while you sip on your water and wait for your turn.

You were really enjoying yourself, he managed to flirt his way into letting the staff play his workout playlist which was oddly relaxing.

But then you saw a very, very familiar mop of curly hair from the corner of your eyes and you froze.

You almost spit your water out.

What was Taehyung doing here?

You came to this gym because it was a little farther from your place so you could avoid anyone you know but why was he here?

You panicked and debated whether you should run away but it’s too late because his eyes found yours and now he’s waving at you and it would be weird if you ran off right now.

You felt your whole body heat up, he was so gorgeous with his bouncy black curls it genuinely hurt your heart looking at him sometimes.

Taehyung walked up to you and Jungkook who was suddenly done with his reps.

You stood up from the bench to face him.

“T-Taehyung…hi.”

Since when did he come here?

“Hey y/n, surprised to see you here.” He smiled and your heart almost fluttered away from your chest.

“I uh, I just started coming.”

“Really? That’s great! I’m happy for you.”

“Thanks.” You glanced at Jungkook who was staring intently at Taehyung. You could tell he was connecting dots that were created with each word exchanged between you and Taehyung.

Taehyung placed his hands on your shoulders to squeeze them lightly, a gesture of reassurance you think.

“No really, I’m happy you’re finally taking control of your life. I was starting to get worried ya know?”

Jungkook felt his chest heavy with a feeling he didn’t like, he didn’t like it not one bit.

Jungkook scoffed that feeling away.

“W-What?“ You looked at him wide eyed and shocked.

“Fuck him,” He blew a childish rassberry,” Taking control of your life? You’re just at the gym not fucking rehab. Who is he anyway?”

But anyone could see it a mile away.

“Some friend he is,” Jungkook waved him off.

You stood there not knowing what to say, Taehyung's comment did hurt but it wasn’t anything new.

“He’s just worried since I gained weight recently,” you defended him.

“So?” Jungkooks expression softened,” everyone gains weight, y/n its normal, we don’t always stay one weight. Fuck even me, I may be Hercules himself with this bod but my weight is always changing.”

“Yea but you’re like,” you gestured to him,” it’s different.”

Jungkook stood up before crossing his arms,” unless you’re an alien then you have a lot of explaining to do bro.”

You looked up at Jungkook who was now dramatically examining you to make sure you actually were human.

You couldn’t help but laugh, which in return made him laugh.

“N-No I’m human.” You tried to stop laughing before you snorted.

He’d think you’re a real pig then.

“Thought so,” Jungkook smirked,” besides, aliens aren't this cute, they’re probably some real ugly ass fuckers.”

Your heart raced faster than it did then when you were on the treadmill.

You were so trapped in your own mind you didn’t hear him call your name.

Jungkook worried he made you uncomfortable but you had this cute little pout on and he couldn't help his finger that flicked your forehead.

You yelped, glaring at him.

“You zoned out on me there,” Jungkook squinted his eyes at you,” were you, perhaps, communicating to your home world that I figured out your true identity?”

“Yes,” you played along,” now I have to take you as my hostage.”

“Alien snacks provided though, right?” Jungkook negotiated his rights.

You smiled.

“Right.”

Jungkook had a way of making your icky feelings turn into fun ones, maybe that’s why you felt yourself opening up to him just a little.

Taehyung on the other hand, couldn’t help but stare at you, it was weird seeing you here, he even had a weird feeling in his gut watching you smile and laugh with that guy you were with earlier.

You never laughed like that with him.
