Part 2.

It has been a week now since Jaebum has “chosen you” to be his queen. You reply, looking down at your food, too afraid that if you look him in the eye again you will actually melt. “All those women you’ve had must’ve really boosted your ego.”

You groan very dramatically as you make your way out of your room and to the hallway. As you pass Leila, she gives you a little pat on your back for encouragement. You both can only imagine what’s going to be said

You’ve reached the lounging area and your parents are standing at the front of the room with Prince Jaebum’s parents as well. You bow to them and take a seat. Jaebum enters not long after you and does a bow as well, then quickly taking a seat.

“Okay you guys!” Queen Im starts almost at the same time Prince Jaebum’s seat touched the chair. “We are sending you two back home for this last week together so she can become familiar with the palace and our people” She says very excitedly.

“What?” You gasp. 

This means you and Prince Jaebum alone. For a week. In his territory. As much as you’ve been saying you don’t want to let him have you so easily, it would be very naive of you to say that nothing will happen between you two, probably on the first night! Especially not after the way things went this morning. 

Prince Jaebum leans back in his seat with a smile, “So it’ll be just me and the princess?”

His father chuckles while his mom give a disapproving look.

You look over to your parents, still in shock.

“Oh relax, Y/N. This will be a great chance for you two to get to know each other with out us hovering so much and like Queen Im said, you’ll become familiar with your new home,” she says with a sad smile.

Your dad was quick to mention the no sleeping in the same bed thing.

You roll your eyes at that. Yeah, right.

“When are we supposed to be leaving?” You asked.

“Tomorrow morning, first thing!”

You’ve been tossing and turning in your bed for what feels like hours. You should’ve seen this coming. You should’ve been preparing yourself to leave your old life behind this whole week. You thought you’d have more time before being completely alone with him, though.

Your mind starts to wander back to Prince Jaebum. You start replaying that moment over and over in your head. You think about how he looked at you. He probably looks at every girl like that, that’s how he gets them to his bedroom, you think to yourself.

The next morning you say your goodbyes to your parents and Leila. You’re still trying to convince the Ims to let Leila come along after the wedding. They keep telling you she’s “just a servant.” But she’s not just that, she’s also your best friend.

You put your arm through his and allow him to walk you to your family’s dining room where you sit next to him. Joining you are both your parents, but only for a short while.

Once they’ve walked out of the dining room, Jaebum’s whole mood changed.

“Alright, they’re gone finally!” He starts off, “Do you perhaps have a wine cellar?” He asks inquisitively.

You roll your eyes. Really?

“We do” You eye him for a second watching his face change to an excited look, “I hope you don’t think I’d let you get me drunk so you can fuck me and decide tomorrow I’m not the princess you’re looking for. I know about you, Prince Jaebum.”

Jaebum takes a seat next to you and chuckles again, “So what did you mean, Princess?” He asks with a smirk.

He must think incredibly highly of himself.

“Oh, come on. People talk, Jaebum. You can’t expect to sleep with every woman you encounter and them not gossip about it.” You hear how it comes out of your mouth and cringe. 

He chuckles again, “Is that what princesses are saying about me?” He looks at you, “If I didn’t know any better I’d say you were jealous..good thing you’re stuck with me,” he shrugs with a smile.

“Excuse me?”

“Once I’ve told my parents that I actually like you and I choose you to be my bride, you’re stuck with me.”

You roll your eyes. He’s absolutely right. This is not how you thought this was going to go. 

You hear him laughing again. “What’s the matter princess? I’m not your first pick?”

“Definitely not,” You scoff, looking into your lap.

You feel his body heat as leans over to you. He whispers in your ear, “I can't wait to make you fall in love with me,” he starts to gently rub your back, “You’ll be begging me to fuck you by our wedding day.”

You hear the doors behind you open and Jaebum pulls away quickly, as both of your parents come out.

“Yes, of course.” She responds with a smile. 

As she calls for one of the maids to come escort him, your father walks up to him. “I hope you found our daughter to be to your liking.”

“Oh she is lovely,” he looks back at you and winks. “I think she is definitely Queen material. The kind of Queen our town needs. 

You see his parents smile at him as a way of showing approval.

You turn back to the giant swan bush in front of you. You then close your eyes and mentally prepare for the weeks to come and all the time you’ll have to spend with Prince Im Jaebum.
