Shinra is jealous when (Y/N) bakes a cake for Arthur, and ends up accidentally confessing.

''So, you're going to help me ?'' (Y/N) asked, a huge smile on her face. She was really too close to Shinra, who only did his weird smile he always does when he's nervous. ''Yeah, sure...'' He finally answered. Actually, the girl had planned to bake a cake for Arthur, since he had saved her during an Inferno attack. Everyone else was busy, and she wasn't going to ask Arthur himself to help her. And she really liked to spend time with Shinra as well, so of course she would've asked him.

          Actually, the boy had a crush on her. It was pretty obvious, but since he was smiling really often, people weren't noticing it much. And that's why he wasn't pleased to spend some time with her for once ; it was only for the sake of Arthur. He knew (Y/N) wasn't in love with the blonde, but still, it was pissing him off. She never had baked him a cake ! 

         ''Did you hear me ?'' She snapped him out of his thoughts. ''Uh ? N-no, sorry ! What did you say ?'' He asked, a huge smile on his face. She giggled at the sight, but didn't say anything about it. ''I asked you if he liked chocolate. Cause with what we have, it'll be else a chocolate cake, else a cheesecake. And I'm able to fuck up the cheesecake, so it'll be better if he likes chocolate.'' Shinra nodded, and (Y/N) began to prepare the ingredients, telling the boy what he had to do.

          ''You can taste what's left, we won't need that.'' She said, pointing at some melted chocolate that had been left in a bowl. ''Are you sure ?'' He asked, not believing that they actually won't need those leftovers. ''Well, if we need more chocolate, I'll just melt more...'' He chuckled at her sentence, but gently tasted some chocolate with his finger.

          While they were waiting for some part of the recipe to cool down, they decided to goof around. Actually, (Y/N) started it. She was tasting chocolate with a spoon, and seeing her licking it like that, Shinra couldn't help but space out. It's not that he was a perv, it's just that he was a 17 years old boy who was around his crush, and she was licking a spoon.

        Seeing that he was lost in his thoughts once again -not minding the nervous smile on his face- (Y/N) put some chocolate on her finger before rubbing it on Shinra's nose. He jumped at the touch, since he hadn't noticed how close she had been, and laughed when he understood what was going on. He licked the chocolate after taking it with his finger, and then threw some flour at the girl.

          They fought with the ingredients until (Y/N) was covered with flour while Shinra had easily won the fight. However, they had to stop when their heard the 'ding' of the alarm. The girl took the cake out of the fridge, and Shinra followed what the new orders were, even if he was much less tense now. 

           When the cake was done, the girl put a little flower on it. ''Now, it doesn't look half bad.'' Shinra chuckled. ''Yeah, that looks tasty.'' She smiled at his statement. ''You were a good help, though, thanks !'' He raised an eyebrow, trying to prevent a nervous smile to appear on his face once again. ''You didn't need me, though. You could've done that by yourself.''

         She seemed to pout. ''But that would've been less fun ! And I would've put too much effort...'' That said, Shinra agreed. ''I really don't know why you would put effort in something for him.'' He actually said what he was thinking out loud, making him jump when (Y/N) turned to look at him.

          He tried to put an innocent expression on, but he just looked like he was pouting. He was avoiding her gaze, mostly to avoid another smile. ''I mean, I know he saved your life, but baking a whole cake for only one person, I mean... He wouldn't have done that ? And he's just a flirt anyway, I'm sure if he insisted to be the one helping you it was mostly to seduce you..'' (Y/N) raised an eyebrow, but smiled after processing what he had just said.

          ''Awn, don't be jealous, I'll bake you a cake too if you want. And it's not because you didn't save me that you aren't my favorite.'' He jumped -damn was he jumping a lot- at her last sentence. ''What ? Your favorite ?'' She nodded. ''Yeah, you're the coolest person in this firehouse. And your smile is so cute !''

         This time, Shinra couldn't help but smile, even though he really didn't want that to happen. He didn't want her to think he did that on purpose ! ‘’Arthur says it looks weird, but sometimes he's trying to do the same smile as yours. He knows I find that cute. I hope someday he'll realize there are other girls he can try to flirt with in this place.'' She wasn't looking at him anymore, so his smile faded a bit. He raised an eyebrow, though.

             ''You don't like him ?'' (Y/N) chuckled. ''I appreciate him. But am I falling for his tricks and flirts ? No.'' She giggled while saying that, and that made Shinra melt. ''Most girls do, though.'' He commented, before she added : ‘’I mean, he's handsome and stuff, but the boy is stupid.'' Shinra couldn't help but laugh at her statement. She smiled when he did.

         ''You won't deserve him anyway. You're strong and you're clever, even if sometimes you ask 3 times about the same stuff to the commandant cause you don't understand the words he uses. We don't really care about those things, as long as you're not dumb like Arthur and you make good choices when we're fighting, it's all that matters. And you were clever enough to choose the 8th company instead of those others, even when they asked you to join them instead.''

           Shinra didn't realize he was talking all alone and kinda fast, until there was a long silence. (Y/N) was staring at him, widened eyes, her lips parted. He never had smiled that big during the whole afternoon spent with her, and he needed to hide it with his hands. ''That's... actually very nice of you to say. And even to remember ?'' She chuckled, kind of asking herself. ''It's because it's true. I like you. I don't know how people wouldn't.''

          He still had his hands on his lips, and it seemed like he couldn't prevent himself from confessing at this point. What made him realize it maybe wasn't a bad thing, was when he noticed her blushing. ''You really like me ?'' She asked, quite rapidly. He nodded. ''I like you too.'' She continued, using the same tone.

         Shinra stopped to hide his smile when it turned into a real one, and not a nervous one. ''Would it be weird if I kiss you ?'' He asked, but she seemed as lost as him. ''I don't know !'' But he had an idea. There wasn't any chocolate left, but there was still flour on the table. He put some on his thumb before rubbing the lower lip of the girl with it. Understanding what he was doing, she chuckled -that made some flour fly away in the process.

         But he didn't mind. Indeed, he cupped her face with both hands, and kissed her. The first kiss was quite long, until they locked eyes. Noticing that the embarrassment from both parties was now gone, they both giggled at the cliché scene they had just made. After that, Shinra pecked the girl's lips several times, enjoying the moment.

          They giggled for a while, until they heard a door being opened. They separated, even though they didn't care about people knowing -it was just a reflex, they were sharing a moment right there ! And they were right, since it was Arthur himself. ''What's going on ?'' (Y/N) smiled. ''I baked you a cake because you saved me ! Shinra helped me !''

              Arthur walked to the cake to look at it, and smiled. ''Thanks, (Y/N) ! It was only a knight's job ! Do you mind if we eat it after dinner, though ?'' She shook her head no, and that said, Arthur walked away. After a silence, Shinra spoke up. ''Can we eat the cake without him ? I mean he would deserve it.'' (Y/N) rolled her eyes playfully. ''No !''
