I have to get some sleep, but I just wanted to come on here and say how much "Our Flag Means Death" has healed me as both a queer person and a fandom participant. I'm on cloud 9 right now. David Jenkins has my entire heart and soul!
The reaction to Izzy's death is exactly what I was afraid would happen when I saw how the fandom got ahold of him. It was pretty obvious from season 1 his character needed to go. Not only does it make sense, but was good storytelling. I think the writers were incredibly generous to the fandom and the character with the arc he got, honestly.
I'm sorry some of you are so upset, but art is supposed to make you feel things and those things aren't always sunshine and rainbows. No piece of media has ever made me feel this loved and appreciated, and I will defend it to the end.
