He frowns at you, sending you a withering scowl that has you clutching the pillow closer to your chest. 

“Are you kidding? I’ll take the couch.” He rolls his eyes and sits down on his couch, making it a point to glare at every single pillow and magazine in the living room. 

You bite the inside of your lip, unsure of what to say.

“Oh my god, Jungkook! Jungkook!” You cry, angry tears streaming out of your face as the clouds darken and thunder rolls loudly, as if they’re mourning their demigod with you. 

You scream as you stand protectively over Jungkook’s fallen figure and raise your hands towards the sky of the Underworld, tears streaming down your face and rain soaking the both of you as the monster in front of you roars and begins to charge towards your direction. 

Fire begins to flicker at your fingertips and the ground begins to rumble as you focus your energy, the anger, the injustice, and the vengeance over Jungkook’s death into your hands. Slowly, a dark hole begins to open up from the ground, emitting horrid groans and wails from the creatures that were cursed to Tartarus forever. You’d only heard about the children of Hades being able to open portals to Tartarus, but you now realize that the focused energy from your hands, along with the thunder and lightning that Jungkook had summoned was helping you channel the power enough to do so. 

The monster trips into the hole and roars, wrenching his foot to try and get out, but there is no use. You watch in horror as immediately, ghostly hands of souls lost forever in Tartarus begin to grip at his horns, his skin, skeletal figures climbing onto him and dragging him down, down, until his roars and the cries of the lost souls seem to have disappeared forever. 

You collapse on the ground as the hole closes up, and the darkness fades. One of the hellhounds bound up to you, no longer afraid of the hole you’d opened up, and licks your face and whines as he butts your hand with his head. 

You open your eyes, breathing heavily, tears streaming down as you turn, your whole body burning with overuse and exhaustion as you pull yourself up and kneel next to Jungkook’s body. 

His handsome face is matted with blood and dirt, and the rain cakes his dark hair to his face that looks much paler and more gaunt than it did when the both of you left Camp Halfblood a few days ago. He’d jumped in front of the monster when you were distracted with fighting the other smaller minions, and the monster had completely pierced Jungkook’s torso with his horn. 

“Jungkook! Please,” You cry, rocking back and forth. “Please, no, you were my only good friend, the only person I could trust. Please, no, not again. I can’t lose you, too. Everyone that comes near me gets hurt, this is all my fault.” 

You cry, wailing in anger as you hold his corpse close, cradling his head against your chest as you watch the rain slowly wash the blood and dirt away. The hellhounds whine and lower their heads as they watch the both of you, and the fires of the Underworld around you seem to dim in honor of the demigod who’d given his life for the daughter of their King.

I was really anticipating this update and I'm so excited to see this story till the end. I enjoyed seeing Neverland expand and seeing the Lost boys for the first time. Theres a lot of character nuances and the mangrove scene really solidifies that every single one of these characters are soooo much more complex than what I initially expected/thought. I loved it so much. Also shout out to lost boy Jimin for enduring that pain for Hook 😤 Hook's relationships with all the boys are so interesting and I'm very excited to see how everything progresses.

Is it bad that I love Namjoon so much? I know this is a Hoseok story but i am so down with Joon's character and story and I like his relationship and familiarity that he has with Hook a lot. Maybe it's just cuz I like the fondness between them lol.

Overall a great second chapter!!

An interlude on hybrids and hybrid affections: 

Out of the entire various 30 or so hybrid species- there are several marked characteristics that separate them. But One commonality among all hybrids is the need for affection. Most hybrids are bred to be extremely affectionate and cuddly by nature, with the least affectionate being snake hybrids, and the most affectionate being dog hybrids. 

But There also some exceptions to this rule- snakes hybrids like dog hybrids, exhibit typical imprinting behavior exemplified by the extreme attachment and dependence on one human. In many cases, removal of the hybrid that has imprinted from the imprinted parties will result in extreme emotional distress and depression. The hybrid in question may stop eating, taking care of themselves, or accepting any sort of affection or interaction with outside humans. 

As imprinting a second time is extremely rare if a hybrid is abandoned by it’s imprintee, these hybrids require forever homes. Imprintation between hybrids on other hybrids has never been observed and seems to be completely a subset of human/hybrid relationships, and it’s typical among most species.

- Jimin wakes with a start on a comfortable bed, the mattress thicker and more plush than any bed he’s ever slept on. The knit quilt on top of him warm but not too hot, his limbs shaking with adrenaline his head aching. The neat lines of wooden bunk beds numbering in the dozens stretch out down the long room are empty. 

- But he takes in all the smells- the smells of hybrids, but it’s like he can’t even really figure out what the scents mean. Trying to piece together his jagged memories from the day before. The windows are open, pushed up to let in a nice breeze, carrying with it the smell of freshly cut grass, flowers, earth, and unmistakably distant animals. 

- A noise, a Suprised grumble, Jimin whips his head towards the door, finding the source of his wakefulness, Namjoon looks awkward and a little sorry, “I didn’t mean to wake you but I wanted to make sure you were okay.”
