I mean, I personally think Wukong would eat that excuse up like celestial peaches.

Actually you raise a compelling argument but even then I feel like Wukong would still feel some semblance of betrayal cuz this dude really thought it was just him and Macaque against the rest of the three realms so hearing Macaque choose the greater good over Wukong is still gonna hurt
