“he’s smiling! genuinely smiling! there’s definitely something wrong with kageyama.” shoyo’s snarky comment earned him a crisp slap to the nape.

tobio suppressed his grin and looked away shyly from the rest of the team, grumbling to himself in embarrassment. the last thing he wanted was for the rest of the team to see how the time had been affecting him.

today was such a drag—usually zoning out in class made it pass in the blink of an eye. but something about today was different, and he was excited for today.

something other than volleyball.

“oh, i see what this is.” he jumped as noya cheekily elbowed at his side. “you scored a lucky day with y/n, huh? is that right?”

“ooooooh, kageyama’s got the hots for ‘em!” tanaka joined the libero’s banter from the other side. “y/n must’ve hit the jackpot.”

“no, nothing like that! shut up!” he pushed the two away and scoffed, but the blush in his cheeks couldn’t lie. “i’m meeting y/n because she agreed to tutor me in english. that’s all.”

“that’s all, huh? what’s got his highness so worked up, then? y/n is merely your subject, no?” daichi had to split the two first years up as tobio reached out to grab and grip the front of kei’s jersey.

“well, i think that y/n is a very lovely person, kageyama. you’ll get better in no time.” suga let out a sigh and shook his head thoughtfully. “i’m pretty sure you have no other choice, anyway.”

“can i come with—”

“no.” hinata blinked as the first year setter interrupted the question with his mind made up, the team watching him carefully as he packed his bag. “y/n said i can go see them tomorrow during lunch, so i won’t be late for practice.”

“have fun, lover boy!” noya and tanaka blew kisses in kags’s direction, earning them both a dirty glare from their captain. “if you want to be late for practice, that’s okay! you just enjoy your little date.”

“i’m not going to be late for practice tomorrow.” tobio huffed as the team parted ways after the net was put away, him and shoyo walking home together as they always did. hinata would be blind to not see the extra energy in his friend’s steps.

“you’re excited, aren’t you kageyama?”

he opened his mouth to protest but paused, instead looking to his teammate with that same smile that got him called out earlier. hinata could see the little sparkle of anticipation in his eyes and knew the answer before he could say anything out loud.

if only you knew how lucky you were.

“yeah,” he replied softly. “just a little.”

sprints to the front door when he hears you walk in

hugs you the moment you're within reach and will hold you for a few moments, swaying from side to side

probably already prepared a bath for you and asks what you want to have for dinner before telling you to shower

takes time to give you massages or foot rubs— or just cuddle, whichever you need to recharge and relax

spends his down time reading books and randomly hits you with the trivia he's read

cannot stay in the house for too long even if his life depended on it

he's like a puppy that needs to channel his energy somewhere

so he's usually out running errands for you

every morning he sits in the kitchen as you list all the things he needs to do for the day— eyes sleepy and arms resisting the urge to reach out and wrap around your waist but he just CAN'T 😩

a bit clumsy with housework but it's fine

also putting in the effort to learn how to cook decent meals for you!!

and by that i mean pampers you bath and beauty products— spa nights are common for you two

kisses and waves goodbye from the doorway looking all cute with his doggy apron and house slippers

don't be fooled tho, this man cannot cook

tries to follow recipes but always messes it up some way or another

burned soup once but we don't talk about that 🤐

ushijima wakatoshi

does not wait for you at home

picks you up from work 100% of the time and either takes you out for dinner or go grocery shopping with you

this is because he can't cook as well 😀

he's secretly taking cooking classes though so watch out for his culinary debut!!

very neat and keeps the house tidy by regularly doing chores

loves lounging on the couch with you when you get home and spending weekends outside

THIS MAN‼️😩

perfect househusband 10/10 would recommend

he does the cooking, he does the cleaning all while being THAT pretty

regrows vegetables and has his own little garden— he uses them for cooking and sometimes shares some with the neighbors

your house always smells so fresh because of him and his plant babies

being kita's wife means coming home to a clean house and delicious dinner everyday

would probably like to have a pet cat to keep him company while you're away 🥺 pls let him have one
