➸ a/n: i had been meaning to rewrite this old fic for some time now, and today i finally decided to sit down and remake it into a johnny drabble. i really hope you guys enjoy it, pls don’t hesitate in letting me know! 

With a tired huff, Johnny finishes wiping down the last of the dirty tables on his section and smiles triumphantly. He turns around to give the shop a once over, then makes his way towards the back.

“Taeil—I’m taking my break now, I’ll be back in fifteen!” Johnny exclaims popping his head into the backroom where Taeil is doing inventory on the different coffee beans they currently have.

Taeil barely spares him a glance and waves him away humming in agreement then carries on jotting down things on his clipboard.

Grabbing a vanilla caramel latte and a banana nut muffin, Johnny rounds the corner and surveys the coffee shop once more. He spots a free table near the back and begins to make his way towards it. He hasn’t even taken three steps when someone runs into him, crushing his cup between the both of them coffee spilling all over their clothes.

Johnny groans in annoyance—mostly because he was looking forward to drinking his coffee which is now all over the floor and on his shirt, and also because he has no spare clothing for the rest of his shift and he can already feel his shirt getting sticky and clinging to his chest. He shifts his gaze from the floor and finds himself face to face with a very beautiful but very distraught young lady. Tears are running down her cheeks and her shoulders are slumped, seemingly having given up on life as she stares down at her white ruined blouse which is now stained with Johnny’s coffee.

Sniffling loudly, she makes her way towards the counter and begins to grab all the napkins she can.

If he was being honest, Johnny might have been mad at the fact that the girl had yet to apologize—or acknowledge his existence in the least bit for that matter, but she was clearly having a shit day so he lets it slide.

“Are you alright?” Johnny asks voice full of concern. He places a hand on the girl’s shoulder but it only makes her go stiff, when suddenly she’s doubling over and gasping. Johnny immediately pulls away but a sudden wave of warmth courses through his entire body, from the tips of the fingers that had just been connected to the girl’s shoulder to the tips of his toes and he stumbles backwards eyes wide and mouth agape.

The girl looks up to stare at Johnny right in the eyes, face tear streaked as her bottom lip trembles, a new set of tears falling freely from her eyes.

“Of course this happens today, of all days” the girl all but wails standing up straight and creating some distance between her and Johnny. “I can’t do this right now, I really can’t, I am so sorry” she girl says as she scrambles to pick her bag up from the floor and clutching it to her chest. She hastily moves towards leaving the coffee shop in  sudden rush not once looking back.

Johnny stares after her, gaping, not really fully understanding what just happened.

“Hey Johnny—whoa, dude you good?” Taeil asks coming to stand next to him; he looks towards the door to where Johnny is still staring dazedly.

“Dude, I think—I think I just met my soulmate?” Johnny says a little bit in awe, rubbing at the spot right above his heart on his chest lightly.

“Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit!” Taeil exclaims clapping a hand over his mouth and shaking Johnny by the shoulder with the other. Johnny let’s out a strangled and slightly maniacal laugh.

“Yeah,” she replied, already in the process of taking her books out of her bag and showing you all the notes she made, “Well, what did I expect from you? You’re always so damn forgetful.”

“Sorry,” you sheepishly chuckled, sending a pleading look, “You can help me, right?”

“Damn right I can. You know Soori from class 3A, right? The girl that gets away with everything?” You nodded as your best friend pulled out her phone and scrolled through a LINE chat, clicking on a picture, “Well, they got the quiz yesterday. She took a picture when the teacher wasn’t looking.”

“You’re a lifesaver,” you grinned, already taking a black sharpie from your locker and dragging your best friend to the toilets, “Really.”

“I know I am,” she smiled, and you burst into the restroom together.
