you have to MANUALLY opt out of it as well.

to opt out on desktop, click your blog ➡️ blog settings ➡️ scroll til you see visibility options and it’ll be the last option to toggle.

to opt out on mobile, click your blog ➡️ scroll then click visibility ➡️ toggle opt out option.

if you’ve already opted out of showing up in google searches, it’s preselected for you. if you don’t have the option available, update your app or close your browser/refresh a few times. important to note you also have to opt out for each blog you own separately, so if you’d like to prevent AI scraping your blog i’d really recommend taking the time to opt out. I keep meeting artists who complain that Tumblr Is Dead then when I check their blog they've made four posts in six months and all of them were self promo lmao. Influencers whining that "tumblr is useless for engagement" tells me every part of the problem, like sorry you can't just show up and farm this userbase for clicks by waving buzzwords around the way you can on tiktok. I think some people forget that some literature and some media is meant to be deeply uncomfortable and unsettling. It's meant to make you have a very visceral reaction to it. If you genuinely can't handle these stories then you are under no obligation to consume them but acting as if they have no purpose or as if people don't have a right to tell these stories, stories that often relate to the darkest or most disturbing parts of life, then you should do some introspection.

I think I had to reblog, this was not a choice

I was feeling terrible all morning. I've been having a tough few days, but I thought I was past it. The bad mood was weird to me because of that. When I went to go run errands, though, the sky was dreary. I chalked my bad mood up to that, but then it started to rain.

Usually, I get annoyed by the rain. This time, though, it washed all my heartache away. I felt so much better just from seeing it. Smelling the wet bricks, the clay pots, the dirt from the plants at the store. Maybe I've been reading too much poetry, but it reminded me of something.

Rain brings life. It travels, bringing new smells and sensations from place to place. Animals love it because it enriches their lives. It reminds them that the world around them is alive and full.

What a beautiful thing it is, to be alive. To be here on the planet Earth with you. With everyone. Rain is symbolic for life and rebirth, and I remembered that today.

I remembered that just because I'm in pain doesn't mean it will last forever. The rain leads to new life and new beginning. The pain is temporary and life is beautiful.

I'm so glad to be experiencing life on Earth with all of you.
