i just finished this story. i read 20 chapters in one day. i’m feeling so many emotions. this is such a good story i’m in tears. i cant. i’m gonna reread this story for the rest of my life. this is a masterpiece. i’m so glad i found this story. i hope the authors feels better soon and continues writing masterpieces like these. this story felt so life changing 😭😭😭.

summary: football player! miguel, nerd! reader, miguel and y/n have both liked eachother but haven’t confessed, miguel’s teammates have convinced him to ask her to homecoming, after the homecoming game, he went up to her and asked her if she wanted to go to homecoming with him. (lowercase intended) (this was based off a tiktok i saw but i lost the tiktok so i tried my best)

miguel and you had both gone to the same elementary schools to highschool. though y’all grew up together you both go distant when you got into ap classes and didn’t see him as often. though you did a smile at him when you both passed by eachother.

homecoming day, 3:30, y/n’s house

you enter your house, backpack in hand, keys in the other. knowing your mom isn’t home you went upstairs and got ready to go to the football game your friends forced you to go to. they even had to bribe you with food. you wiped off the old makeup putting on new makeup, you headed to your dressing room. and picked out an outfit.

you finish getting ready and head downstairs to your garage. getting on your motorcycle you head to the football game.

arriving to the football game, you find your girl-friends. you see them huddle up and you run up to them. they flinch and laugh it off when you give them a confused face. “are y’all okay?” you say worried. they nod. “c’mon we’re gonna miss the beginning.” rory says and drags us along. you all sit down on the middle row.

at the end of the game; authors pov

miguel just got a touch down. everyone cheered. the buzzer sounded. miguel got surrounded by his teammates carrying him up, cheering loudly for him. once they put miguel down they talked about the homecoming proposal.

reader’s pov

you had gotten up, heading for the exit. “uhh! y/n wait i need to tie my shoe..” rory says and crouches down near the fences to the football field. you wait and see miguel out of the corner of your eye. “rory. how slow can you tie your shoe?” you say, inpatient. “uhm. y/n?” miguel says, you turn around. his friends are surrounding him. “yes?” you say confused. he lifts up his football jersey and shows a white shirt with black letters and check boxes. “will you be my homecoming date? yes or no.”holy shit. he has a black sharpie on his right, having the left holding his shirt. you grab the sharpie and put a check mark on the yes. when you finish the check mark he immediately holds your face and kisses you, your light lipstick left a kiss stain on his right cheek. after the kiss, his teammates come up to him, hyping him up. rory and lily hug you, you were so optimistic.

you finish putting on some make up and finish with your hair, doing simple light curls. you move away from your vanity and glance at the homecoming dress you had bought in a rush. you had bought the dress after miguel confessed, not knowing you would actually go to homecoming. you smile and head to your closet looking at yourself in the long mirror.

you finally arrive at the venue where the homecoming is being held. you enter, texting miguel and your friends trying to find them

miguel 🙊🙊: hey :) where are you?

rory🤗🤗: bitch i see your bf hurry up

lily😽: miguel is asking us where you at. we’re near the food, hurry up.

you were headed to the food table, have not eaten something before getting to the venue. miguel comes up to you and gives you a corsage with a pink tulip. you give him a kiss on the lips, not wanting to make out in front of your friends.

“ugh, you make me sick,” Rory says rolling her eyes and lily agrees. you and Miguel smile. a slow song starts to play and you a Miguel look at each other. “can i have this dance with you? m’lady?” he says and puts a handout. “yes you may, if you don’t ever say m’lady again.” you say with a smile. you both head to the dance floor and you place your hands on his shoulder and his hands are on your waist. “you look so pretty tonight,” he says smiling. “only tonight?” you say jokingly. he immediately gets nervous. “i’m kidding, thank you miggs. you look amazing too.” you say and place a kiss on his cheek. his face flushed with a pink tint. god he’s so pretty in this lighting. you think, smiling ear to ear.
