When thinking about different scenarios and AUs for Teen Wolf stories, did you ever considered how werewolfs and other shapeshifters would wear armor or tactical gear? How would that even work? I've been trying to figure out a realistic explanation for this situation but unless their equipament was very advanced, with retractable and self adjusting parts,I just can't think how they could wear any protection for combat without limiting their abilities,or tearing tearing their gear apart.Thoughts?

I haven't thought about that either. But I guess they wouldn't? It seems kind of pointless if you have supernatural healing speed, and as you mentioned, it would limit your abilities. I mean, maybe they'd wear some sort of protection for the chest to avoid the wounds that need the most time to heal. Other than that, I don't think they would've worn much.

“A little heads-up,” Theo says, slamming the driver’s door shut, “if we get killed, I’ll break up with you.” 

Stiles rolls his eyes. “We both know that’s a big fat fucking lie.” Slinging his backpack over his shoulders, he turns to the cabin they’ll inhabit for the weekend. “Being the possessive little shithead that you are, you’re probably already scheming how to lock me down for all eternity.” It looks smaller than it did on the website. It’s also in desperate need of a renovation. Or eight. Hopefully, the owner didn’t forget to put the key underneath the doormat. Because the other option was leaving the door unlocked for them, and although Stiles is ready to deal with a demon, he’s not ready to find himself face to face with a knife-wielding maniac at the back of beyond in the middle of the night. Theo might be supernatural but he’s a heavy sleeper. A couple weeks ago, Stiles had to kick him five times until he finally got a response. Come to think of it, maybe he ignored him.

The car beeps, and Theo pushes his keys into the pocket of his jacket. “Not if you keep dragging me into bullshit like this for the rest of our lives.”

@msmischief101 @fandomslash @sunel0 I had some ideas from that speculation about shapeshifters in Teen Wolf and how they would wear armor, and decied to write something. This fanfic is the result, hope you guys like it!

In the wake of the war against the supernatural started by rogue hunters, the Argent family stood by it's code of protecting those who can't protect themselves, and sided with the supernatural community and sensible hunters to maintain order. But as the conflict became deadlier and more erratic, the Argents decided to call upon thrustwotrhy and knowledgeable engineers, gunsmiths, armorers, sorcerers, artificers and experts in occult lore, to discuss what they could do as a group to help keep resistance fighters safe in their battles to end the war.

And thus, the Argent's Armory was born, an organization dedicated to mixing technology with both the natural and arcane sciences to create the most advanced weapons and protective equipment to date, attending both the natural and supernatural in it's quest to protect both worlds.

Now, we have the pride to present our first creation, the Warden Armor! It's a pinnacle of modern protection equipment, made possible by the synthesis between magic and advanced technology!

The fabric, plates and foam of the armor and it’s pieces are naturally flexibe, sturdy and light, attributes wich are heightened by the magic woven into every part of the set. High-tech components orchestrate the many functions the Warden provides, and the imbued magic flows seamlessly through every equipment and it’s parts, ensuring technological and arcane excellency in function of the armor’s sytems.

The amalgamation of magic and technology also allowed our designers to create the first truly compact, reliable and potent magical shield generator: the Warden Barrier Generator!

We say first because while it's know that magical barriers, and ways to imbue objects with them, have existed for a long time, Argent's Armory is the first organization that has been able to produce a generator of magical shields that has high efficiency and constant duration in such a compact and reliable platform. Before our creation such device belonged in the works of science fiction, but now we’ve made it a reality.

The Warden Barrier Generator is located in the back of the armor for convenience and safety, and it produces two energy shields by emanating repulsive fields from tiny emmiters that automatically identify and repell high velocity projectiles and magical attacks, thus keeping it's user safe but still allowing them to move around without knocking every single object out of their way.

The first shield is a barrier of the cyclonic type, with rapidly-oscilating energy fields to allow for greater resistance against heavy artillery and powerful magical attacks, while the second shield is a backup barrier, powered by our newly developed redundant field generator, that activates instantly in case of depletion of the cyclonic barrier or the bypassing of something through it, increasing the survivability of the user.

If depleted both barriers recharge automatically over time with our Arcane and Ambient Energy Recycler, but it takes thirty seconds for them to be active at minimal funcionality again, and five minutes to fully recharge. That's too long to wait in a combat, where every second can be the difference between life and death. As a solution to that, the engineers and technoarcanists at Argent's Armory developed our very own shield energy cells!

Compact and easy to use, our energy cells can fully recharge the armor's energy shields as soon as inserted in the battery slot, meaning you can get out of cover and back to battle in a moments notice.

Along with the barriers, the armor also benefits from our very own Warden Enchancement and Adaptabilty System, wich consists of subtle mechanical parts that act in a similar fashion to an exosqueleton, providing enchanced stenght and speed to it's user. On top of that, for shapeshifters (or sorcerers capable of polymorphism) that experience heavy bodily changes with their shifts, the armor can adapt to the users transformation with it's auto-adjusting parts (wich opens space for a werewolf to manifest their claws without hurting themselves or damaging their armor, for example), and with the elastic fiber that can expand itself to give room to the users bones and muscles to readjust.

It can even accompany it's user thorugh a full shift, with the mechanical pieces retracting parts of the armor and fiber, and arcane components decreasing the mass of the armor even further and agglutinating pieces together to small sizes, to the point were it fits perfectly with it's users current shape. It's important to note however that the Warden Armor will not provide any additional protection in this form other than shields at minimum functionality, so while you can carry your armor with you in animal (or other) forms, you will not be able to benefit from all the protection it can fully provide until returning to your natural shape.

Argent's Armory would also like to point out that the Warden Armor and it's systems cannot be bought or used separetedly, since it's a masterwork equipment that was specifically made to work as one.

For safety and to ensure the better perfomance of our products, we require information of the purchaser to know who exactly we are seeling our itens to, and so that we can personalise the equipment to ensure it attends our clients greatest needs.

We understand that this war has taken too much from too many, and therefore we adjust the prices of our equipment as much as possible according to the buyer's capacity to pay. We refuse to take advantage of people's desperation for profit, and are working together with many resistance groups to distribute the armors as easily as possible for best price possible. We are transparent with the use of the money acquired from the sales, wich we use to pay our employees, acquire more materials to keep the production flown going, backing the resistance and assistance groups for those most afflicted by the war.

Our goal is to put an end to this conflict, not create more.

Argent tech is a cool idea, I always imagined they had some interesting things hidden in their armory. Maybe magically infused experimental Argent tech? I think that has potential.
