That's a cool idea!
When thinking about different scenarios and AUs for Teen Wolf stories, did you ever considered how werewolfs and other shapeshifters would wear armor or tactical gear? How would that even work? I've been trying to figure out a realistic explanation for this situation but unless their equipament was very advanced, with retractable and self adjusting parts,I just can't think how they could wear any protection for combat without limiting their abilities,or tearing tearing their gear apart.Thoughts?
I haven't thought about that either. But I guess they wouldn't? It seems kind of pointless if you have supernatural healing speed, and as you mentioned, it would limit your abilities. I mean, maybe they'd wear some sort of protection for the chest to avoid the wounds that need the most time to heal. Other than that, I don't think they would've worn much.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it, and if you ever decide to do a booklet design for the story please let me know! I would love to see it!
Argent’s Armory
@msmischief101 @fandomslash @sunel0 I had some ideas from that speculation about shapeshifters in Teen Wolf and how they would wear armor, and decied to write something. This fanfic is the result, hope you guys like it!

I agree with @sunel0 too, Lydia would most likely be the one to decided their actual name. Maybe something like Abnormal Crimes and Events Investigative Agency (ACEIA), that way they could present themselves to the police if necessary and be taken seriously.
As for the name of the AU, I didn't think of anything concrete but was considering something with the theme of supernatural detectives, but Road Trips and Other Disasters sounds really cool! And like @sunel0 said it can abbreviated to ROADS!
Stiles and Theo are just such masters at mind games and figuring things out, I can only imagine what those two would accomplish if they had worked together. The absolute power...
Like imagine if after the finale Stiles and Theo met each other again, and Stiles sees that Theo has changed a lot for the better and is trying to atone for all the damage he did, and over time they become friends and start working together to solve cases and stop supernatural threats. They would be pratically unstoppable!
Thrown in Lydia with her vast knowledge and psychic abilities, along with Danny and his tech skills and you've got a top tier investigation and inteligence gathering team!
@sunel0 I think it was you that suggested the abbreviation of Road Trips and Other Disasters to ROADS in your tags, but I can't find it your blog anymore so if it wansn't you and I'm just confusing things I'm sorry.
Also I really liked your description of them as a team, they really fit the "dream team" pop culture trope!

Got it! I was having a headache so I didn't realise the abbreviation wansn't a perfect fit until I read it a second time, lol. But I still like it, it might not be a perfect abbreviation but it sounds really cool and fits with the theme! I guess RAODS or RTAOD would be more correct, but those two feel kind of weird. Maybe eventually a new name could come up, but at least for now I guess we can go with ROADS!
And I really liked your suggestion to turn ACEIA into ACEvIA! It really looks and sounds way better!

Hi! It makes me really happy that my idea ended up in a discussion with such creative people, and that now you're actually considering writing an AU about it!
I really liked your ideas and the ones from @msmischief101, but if I may I would also like to add some suggestions:
- Stiles has an active Spark and is a sorcerer (or mage), and he's been training his abilities for a while. He's not an archmage or anything (at least not yet), but he's really good and already has a lot of knowledge of both theoretical and practical applications of the arcane, so eventually he could get there. He pratices constantly to keep his powers sharp and improve, and that's one of the reasons why he's roomate didn't want to live with him anymore. He never saw anything serious, like objects levitating or stuff like that, but got seriously creeped by seeing Stiles meditating while recitating arcane words in the dark surrounded by candles (for example).
- Lydia developed her Banshee abilities too, and can now sense danger and death with a lot more precision, as well as scream with enough power to destroy entire buildings if she wanted to. While her abilities and Stiles's are diferent both in nature and execution in any ways, they still worked together to figure out how to control and reliably use their powers, and Lydia is the only one with arcane knowledge in the same level as Stiles, so they usually research things together and discuss complex theories that makes everyone else confused.
- This is probably something you'd probably only briefly mention even if you decided to include, but Allison is alive. I have this headcannon that Stiles used magic to bring her back in a very dangerous ritual that nearly killed him around the time of S5 (I'm trying to write a Steo fic were this happens, hopefully I'll finish it before the end of the century, lol), and I really love Alisson and Lydia's friendship so.... yeah. I just think Allison is great and her interactions with Lydia are top tier. Also her presence could be an interesting way to explain how the hunter community changed (specially if you decide your story will take into consideration the canon finale), with Allison and her father using her status as an Argent and rallying sensible hunters against Monroe, or even just promoting changes to make sure no innocent supernatural creatures would be hunted. There are a lot of possibilities, but I understand this might not be something you would like to include and you have every right not to, this is your version of this AU after all, I only suggested because Allison is one of my favorite characters and I love stories were she's alive and well.
- And as for the first serious monster they face, I agree with @msmischief101 about it possibly being something from Slavic mythology, like a Strzyga or a Leshen, but it could also be something like a Wendigo from Native American mythology. But if you do go with a Wendigo, I also suggest ignoring TW's canon version and doing something along the lines of what Until Dawn did (UD is a videogame and has an amazing and terrifying interpretation of the Wendigo).
Those are my suggestions! But don't feel pressured to incorporate them in your fic, use them or not as you like, just write the story you think will be the most amazing! I can't wait to read it!
Dear @lawfulgeek and @msmischief101 ,
I don't think it's my place and I can always delete this, but since I can't sleep (as always) may I perhaps interest you in a sort of maybe origin story of the AU (I decided not to reblog the whole thing again)?:D
Naturally, it's just my ideas, and you can always tell me if I'm being too much:D
So basically
Lydia, Stiles, Danny and Theo are studying different stuff in Pasadena (like Stiles in the FBI, Lydia studies Math, Danny - programming and Theo is probably in some kind of Medical thing, but to work on a lab, privacy analyzing things (like for crimes and stuff or in a hospital) or maybe working on medicaments and things (the first one actually comes from my AU where Isaak also worked in ER))
Stiles, Lydia and Danny rent an apartment together, and Theo lives with some roommate in the same building on a different floor mostly (ahm if he says so) accident, because he came into the city a year later after actually graduating, and it's not like he had the best relationships with the pack by the end of things, like not hostile, but there was a lot of room for improvement
But he did start therapy with (as if there's literally anyone else who we know could possibly help him) Morel (probably Kira who ended up having the best relationship with him through the year (and she didn't go to college yet) convinced him), now via Skype, so he generally gets better as a human
But now he doesn't really know how to communicate with new people without lying about his whole life and pretending, he's not used to it yet, the roommate was found also basically by accident
So Lydia (seeing a puppy in need) decides to take him under her wing (they sort of helped him as it was but we're not really close) and make sure he doesn't feel that lonely ("That's bot good for his mental state"), so she invites him to hang out with them, Stiles is a bit apprehensive about it at first, and Danny wasn't there for most of it, so he doesn't care that much. Slowly they all grow closer and all that, some particular TENSION is back in the game and everything
So they continue like this
And their contract for both of the apartments is ending, and Theo's roommate wants to move out to his partner's place, and Theo could afford a place himself, but he doesn't have THAT much money, considering he pays for a Med school
Luckily, by this time Lydia and Jackson's renewed now long-distance relationship evolved enough for Jackson to transfer to Pasadena (he studies something like economics or politics probably)
And initially they thought he'll just move in with Theo, but in the end Lydia and Jackson take Theo's apartment and Theo moves in with Stiles and Danny
It all goes alright, maybe something burns slowly, who knows
Then Brett calls, he needs a place to stay for a couple of days, there's something going on in the city, and some of the Alphas are concerned, so the called Satomi (as she's one of the most experienced Alphas in the state if not the country), maybe she knows what's up, and she sent Brett to take a look at the situation
Naturally, Stiles gets involved, with him Lydia gets too, and Theo helps with identifying the creature by the teeth marks
And Satomi and Brett honestly tell the Alphas that the main job was done by Stiles, Lydia and Theo, so next time they go straight to them
This time, however, they end up tugging Danny in for hacking purposes
And eventually it escalates to the point where they not only identify the creatures but also deal with them
And finally Jackson gets directly involved with paying for the guns and things they need for that (it's not BH but it is a big city plus they work for suburbs too)
So they go on, and once they get a call from a different city, pretty far, and they go there, and do their job
They get calls from places more and more distant, so eventually Lydia suggests the thing Stiles had thought about for a long time: just finally giving in and going on a roadtrip without a foreseeable end, maybe studying remotely (is this the right word?) if they can
And Theo and Jackson go without a question, and all together they manage to convince Danny (who wasn't fighting all too hard)
And somewhere in this Steo do starts dating, annoying Danny to no end
It's probably not the most comprehensible thing, considering it's 6:34 in the morning for me but well anyway I did this maybe now I'll calm down a bit:'D
Oh, don't worry about not writing it, guess I misunderstood. I would still love to see your work if you ever decide to write something!
Thank you for liking the suggestions, I'll try to write something for this AU sometime! Right now I'm working on a Steo fanfic taking place around S5, but I'll take notes of any idea I have for a new story in this AU and keep them, in case I end up writing something for it. Maybe a sequel to my Steo fic? Probably, I'm liking the idea!
As for how they figured out Lydia can destroy building... that's something from the Steo fanfic I'm working on. Let's just say a creature messed with the wrong Banshee. Hopefully it won't take me forever to write the remaining parts of the story, and figure out how exactly some scenes will play out.
Please feel free to continue sharing ideas, same goes for @msmischief101 and anyone else that would like to interact, I'm loving this AU!

Great ideas! Post-mission drama, a scared Theo, and I can definitely see Stiles doing his best to comfort him, with a lot of potential for fluff! I love it!
so it is for the ROADS AU but it's not something interesting I just like little drama thingies per usual so is there really sense to count it as part of the AU
So it's after a case, and some shit went down, and Theo's shaken but he acts nonchalant just quiet
And he tried to listen to music in his headphones in the car but Jackson complained so he didn't
Stiles is driving, Lydia, Danny and Jackson are on the back seat, it's very late, and all three of them are asleep (actually maybey Lydia woke up for this), there's not a single car in sight
Stiles stops on the red light, and looks over at Theo who might seem asleep from the back seat because of how hunched in curled in on himself he is, with his head against the window, but Stiles can see that Theo's looking outside, and he also can see how lost and far away he looks, paler than usual, almost scared
So he reaches over the console and touches Theo's cheek, cupping it for a moment when Theo looks over, tracing his jaw with feather light touch
Theo looks him in the eyes with the same lost expression, then looks away for a second, and then turnes back to the window, hiding his face and closing his eyes
Stiles' hand falls, and he still looks at Theo, concerned, but the light changes, so he looks at the road and drives
The drama... This is so good! Please don't think no one will enjoy this, because it's a really great idea and feels very realistic, specially considering everything Theo went through.
And you didn't post this idea as an answer to my other post, I just saw it in your blog and rebloged.
Don't worry about sharing your ideas, they're awesome!

I love this, it's an amazing idea for the beginning of a ghost story!
Dear @lawfulgeek and @auriette ,
I didn't want to use the post with the graveyard job post again, so I'm making this post, again
There was a pilot for a cartoon Obituary about a girl who was raised by ghosts because she lived on a cemetery or around it, I don't remember exactly, but it sort of inspired this (a bit), as well as the post, so
Stiles does different jobs with supernatural undertone, or when people think it might be (it usually is not), all kinds of small jobs
And this time he's taken on a weird job in a small town. Someone from the local government decided to make the old cemetery a tourist attraction, but for that it had to be cleaned, so they found Stiles
He meets the person he talked to on the phone near the cemetery. While the person explains to him what he has to do, a car stops nearby and a girl with red hair gets out of it with a huge and seemingly heavy bag with what looks like books, only to be greeted by the person's very tired "You again?". The girl replies with a cheerful smile and possibly slightly sarcastic "Yes, me again" and walks past them directly to the cemetery gate
The person explains to Stiles that this is Lydia, she's a bit weird after spending a couple of days naked in the woods and for some reason recently started to hang out around here all the time
When the person has driven off, Stiles is approached by a guy who introduces himself as Isaak and says that he works on the new cemetery on the other side of the church, and when he feels like walking he comes to the old one, although it's technically closed for non-relatives for a few years now, so he's around a lot anyway, maybe he can help Stiles for small share of the money
Looking at the project, Stiles thinks about the deadlineand and decides that he might need some help
What he doesn't expect is for the cemetery to turn out actually haunted (and Isaak could have warned him, but now he'll probably die laughing about the way Stiles shrieked when a rather friendly ghost of a young man named Jordan greeted him (here Parrish actually died when he was supposed to die if the Hellhound didn't get involved))
And so he has a week to make this admittedly creepy and unbelievably dirty and overgrown place a pictureworthy tourist attraction
And then other things (ahm Theo ahm) happen:D
So Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children TW crossover-ish AU thing where Lydia can sense and predict death, Kira controls electricity, Jackson can actually paralyze people, Liam is super strong, Corey can turn invisible, and Theo can control a person’s mind with his voice (that’s why he’s not allowed to talk just to avoid incidents like the one that happened when his peculiarity first presented itself when he was 10 and his sister died; it works much better on normal people than peculiars thought, but he's still is much more convincing than most people, especially if the peculiar is inclined to believe him in the first place) (yes all of those are rather obvious ones), Isaak possibly can move ground, Allison is an untrained ymbrine maybe (she turns into a grackle), Mason might be able to see the Voids, and Stiles can absorb any light (by concentrating it and eating it, it's a funny thing, he can produce an unnatural, impenetrable darkness this way, which he also can shape the way he needs, and he also can give the light back in a pretty powerful column if he has enough, it can be dangerous (yes, it's Noor's peculiarity))
And basically the main issue is the same as in the last two (I just started the 5th book, so idk for sure) books: peculiars of the New World don't have the same organization, everyone survives as best as they can, and there are organized groups (packs) of different sizes, and some of them are quite aggressive and hunt "feral" peculiars to join their group
And so there's an apocalyptic style prophesy about 7 peculiars "who will bring peculiardom to a new age", and Stiles (like Noor in the books) is one of them, so since he accidentally used his power in front of people from one of the groups of peculiars (guess it's something of the Alpha pack analogy), he's hunted, and his friends are under attack as well
Theo here would be worked on by some sort of "scientists" like the ones that caused the voids to come into life, and desperately want to have a strong group (because let's be real, his peculiarity is very useful and very dangerous) to get some sort of protection against others; and most of their peculiarities have shown themselves relatively late, considering the average age of the characters in the film and the books; and packs go amazing with those "peculiar gangs"
I think personality being a key factor to what they become makes sense in some level for normal supernatural creatures, but the Dread Doctors were shown to engineer their mutations in a way they turn into whatever the Doctors want them to. Tracy never shifted into a full kanima like Jackson, she always looked half reptile instead of completely losing human features while transformed, and while it's maybe because she didn't know how to use her full potential, I think it's because that's how the Doctors wanted her to be. A creature like her would be extremely unlikely (but I suposse possible, since uncommon or even unique mutations can happen in biology), but since she was artificially created Tracy was truly both a werewolf and a kanima at the same time. Even tough a kanima is a genetic mutation caused by physicological factors, through DNA manipulation the DD apparently managed to create a creature that was both it's regular form (werewolf), and one of it's mutations (kanima) at the same time.
So I don't think Corey's personality (or that of any other chimera) would actually impact what he would become, at best he could try to repress a side of it, but he would still have it, and eventually it would shown up. Because that's how the DD made him.
Also since the DD used supernatural elements in their experiments, I think what they did lies more in the realm of alchemy instead of regular chemistry and genetic manipulation. Basically they did supernatural science.
As for the alternate dimensions, I agree that wathever Hell and the home of the Wild Hunt where, they weren't separeted (at least not entirely) from the "main" reality. There was some connection that between them, like separeted realms in diferrent frequencies, or like you said dimensional pockets, but existing within the same universe.
And I don't think the train stations where the home of the Wild Hunt, based on what was shown in canon that was just a prison/processing plant for their victims and future ghost ridders. I think they had always the same method to achieve their goals: they opened portals to a place, kidnapped everyone, put them in the "train stations" were they would be put in a stupor and slowly indocrinated and twisted by the energies of the place (with rare exceptions, like Stiles), closed the portals when everyone was already captured, and then completed the process turning them into riders.
What dosen't make sense to me is why every rider dresses and acts like a cowboy, they should look and behave differently (specially in combat depending) on who they were before, where they're from and from when. Wouldn't it be cool to have multiple types of riders? Like knights, vikings, hoplites and others instead of just cowboys!
But I guess it's because the Teen Wolf writers just really liked cowboys. Or didn't have enough budget to have multiple types of them.
I was thinking about Corey and how his ability is to become invisible as well as seeing and apparently interacting with other dimensions, and even link them, and that's really cool but I fell like he should also have abilities that help him in combat, wich is something that happens a lot in Teen Wolf. Specially in S5, when pretty much all he could do was become invisible, because apparently the Dread Doctors created him with chamaleon DNA and... another random creature?
Theo was a werewolf/werecoyote, Belasko was a werewolf/garuda, Tracy was a werewolf/kanima, Josh was a werewolf/ell, Donovan was a wendigo/lamprey, but Corey? All we know is that he's (apparently) part chamaleon, and if we deduce that wathever additional DNA that was used to create him was from some kind of dimentional hopping being, and therefore the interdimensional part of his powers aren't from his chamaleon side, why wansn't this adressed in S5? Why didn't Theo and the Dread Doctors tried to use this side of his abilities? Why would the Dread Doctors create a chimera with such limited offensive applications?
Maybe it's bad writing, or just poor planning, like they introduced the character and only way after that decided what to do with him and how, but I think it would have been interesting if Corey had more offensive capabilities in canon.
Like if he was a chamaleon/naja chimera, he could go invisible, climb surfaces and use the naja's venom propelling capabilities along with his extendable tongue (wich he dosen't seem to have in canon, but still... chamaleon), to administer poison on his targets from a distance. He would be perfect to infiltrate instalations and silently attack threats, wich is something that would make sense for the Dread Doctors to create.
There was just so much potential with Corey, he could have been a chimera with very a unique and interesting set of abilities (even if he was a werewolf/chamaleon), but sadly I feel like he never reached his full potential as a character. Even after they gave his powers a bit more depth in S6 he never really could do much other than carry others to their destinations, it would have been great if he had a more active role instead of always being support.
He really would be a great gift giver! :)
Theo showns that he has an extremely good memory, learns fast and is good at grasping complex topics. If he dedicated himself he could be pretty much in the same level as Lydia in terms of knowledge, had things been different it would have been fun to see a friendly rivalry between them to see who's top of the class.
It would have also been fun to see what he would give Stiles for Valentine's Day!
To be as manipulative as Theo is, if lacking experience in both manipulation and life because he's very young, one has to pay such great attention to details, always remember what and to whom one lies or how uses the facts, and all the little things about people around in order to make up effective stories, what they like, what they think, how they see the world, what their life is like, their needs, desires, aspirations, dreams and goals
What I am saying is Theo's would've made an amazing gift giver if he actually put in some effort and cared enough
Yes to all of this!
