Hi! I'm the anon who sent you this ask, and I decided take your advice and write this story! It's from Stiles POV and it's not very long, but it's my first Steo fanfic and it would mean a lot to me to know your opinion on it. I called it "Prove me wrong". And thank you so much for your encouragement!
What do you think of the idea that Stiles and Theo had a childhood crush on each other? I'm thinking of writing that into a fic.
Do it!!!! I love it! That is so adorable.

Prove me wrong
“You don’t remember me, do you?”
Stiles looked at the boy in front of him with a mixture of shock and nostalgia. His friends looked confused, they didn’t know who this was, and aside from of Scott, who hadn’t caught up, they all had a good reason not to. They had never met him, and his words weren’t directed at all of them.
“I guess I look a little different since the fouth grade”
There was already no doubt for Stiles of who was standing before him, but these words seemed to have been what Scott needed to arive to the same conclusion.
“Theo?”
He heard his friend ask, and the smile on the other boy’s face brought memories he hadn’t revisited in quite a while.
Theodore Raeken. Theo. His childhood friend that he knew for so little time, but somehow got to know so well. Stiles remeber how they met while playing baseball. How even though Theo was good, his ashtma made him stay in the bench with Stiles many times. How they grew close, how they would get to so much mischief together. How when Theo laughed at his stupid jokes it made him feel butterflies in his stomach. How he had problems with his parents, who even though had enough money to give Theo and his sister, Tara, a good life, barely gave their children any attention. How Theo would cry on his shoulder sometimes, telling him how he felt like a failure, that he hated having asthma, that he believed that if it wasn’t for it he would be able to play baseball without fear, his parents would go see the games and he would make them proud. How, even though he loved Tara, he felt jealous of his sister, who didn’t had the same condition he did, and who he sometimes believed was the only child his parents were happy existed.
He also remembers comforting his friend as best he could, telling that his parents did loved him, even though sometimes Stiles felt like they really were cold with Theo, and with him as well. Stiles offered to tell his dad, maybe he could help, after all he was Beacon Hill’s Sheriff, but Theo was afraid they would take him away, and made Stiles promise to never tell anyone. Resignated, Stiles agreed.
He kept his promise to Theo, but knew there was something wrong with his parents. On the few times they saw them playing together and talked with them, Stiles felt like the Raekens were cold with their son, and that they didn’t think he was good enough to be friends with their Theo. They seemed that kind of stuck up.
But even though Theo wanted his parents approval, he didn’t seem to care if they didn’t like Stiles, and neither did he. So what if Theo’s parents didn’t like him? A lot of people didn’t, and while knowing that hurt, he never let that stop him. And Theo liked being his friend, so checkmate.
Stiles even introduced Theo to his only other friend, Scott. He hoped they would get along, and they did. For the most part. Scott even helped Theo, when he forgot his inhalor at home and didn’t realized it until he had an ashtma attack, but thankfully Scott, who also had asthma, always carried a spare inhalor and gave it to Theo. He remember how Theo felt thankful, but also very embarresed, and how it helped when Stiles started cracking jokes to distract him.
But sometimes he felt Scott was a little jealous of his other friendship, and that his friend came up with activities that would exclude Theo. And he was mostly ok with that, there was nothing wrong with having Scott and Stiles moments, but sometimes he felt like Scott overdid it. And sometimes, when the three of them were together, he was pretty sure Scott was sometimes mean to Theo. Stiles was mad at him for it, and decided to hang out with them separatedly as much as possible.
Not that it necessarily helped to put an end to Scott’s idea that Stiles was putting him aside, because maybe Stiles really was hanging out a lot more just with Theo, and maybe he wouldn’t shup up about Theo when talikng to Scott, and sure even when he did stoped talking, he hoped somenone would say something that gave him a chance to casually throw in a new cool thing he learned about Theo. But what could he do? It was Theo! His friend who he loved to spend time with! Not that he didn’t like spending time with Scott, or that he wasn’t cool, it was just different. Scott was like a brother, and Theo was... well, Stiles didn’t know how to define what Theo was to him, but he knew it was awesome! A bit scary sometimes, in those fractions of a second were he worried he looked dumb or weird, but all the other seconds, were Theo assured Stiles he was funny, and said how awesome his jokes were, how cool he was and how great it was to hang out with him, it made Stiles fell more than amazing. More than just happy.
They kept hanging out, and more and more Stiles felt drawn to Theo Raeken. Wanting to spend time with him, hear what he had to say, seeing his smile and listen to his laugh, all of these things had pratically entered the list of priorites of Stiles’s life. The butterflies in his stomach becoming a stronger and more constant feeling everytime he was around his friend, or simply thought about him. He didn’t understand what that meant, but he knew he liked it.
One time he asked his dad what that could be, John froze for a split second after Stile’s explained what he felt, looked at his son with a reasuring smile and just said it meant he was very fond of Theo, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Then his father hugged him, and Stiles had no idea what was all the fuss over a simple question, but he just hugged his dad back. He liked hugs, so he wasn’t going to complain if his father wanted to give him one.
Now he understands what “all the fuss was” about, and him reacting the way he did is one the many reasons he’s happy and proud to be the son of Sheriff John Stilinsky.
“You know him”
Malia asked Scott, and it made Stiles return his focus to the present, if only for a moment, because Theo answered before Scott had a chance to, and his words threw him for another loop.
“They used to”
That cut Stiles deep, even if it didn’t make sense to be hurt by that statement. It had been years since they last saw each other, but the memory of the day Theo left Beacon Hills was still painful.
Stiles had no idea what it was, but Theo had started to grown distant after a while. The last time they had spend time together and were close as they had, was one afternoon when he came crying to Stiles because of his parents. They had been fighting a lot, something about possible financial issues, his father drank far too much, and terrible things were said. Among those things, Theo heard them speaking about him, he heard his father say how his son dissapointed him, his wife not really disagreeing, basically saying the same thing but without sounding so harsh, in an attempt to calm down her husband.
Stiles could half relate to Theo’s problem, in regards to listening his parents say terrible things when in an altered state, his mother due to dementia during her last days, and his dad with the alcohool after her passing. But even even though Stiles lost his mother and had some problems with his dad, he at least could say that his parents loved him and each other more than anything. Even if his mother said bad things in her last days as the dementia caused by her disease took over, even if for a while his dad had a drinking problem that made him say bad things, Stiles know’s the truth is that his mother and father love him, and nothing could ever change that.
Sadly, he worried that he couldn’t say the same about Theo and his family. He did everything he could to make his friend feel happy, but he felt like no matter what he said he wasn’t able lift the sadness off Theo this time, and seeing him sad made Stiles fell like there was something breaking inside himself. Once again Stiles suggested going to his dad, and while this time a part of Theo felt like it wanted to say yes, he saw the way fear quickly took over his friends face and made him say no. Not long after, it started getting dark and Stiles had to return home, he invited Theo but he also said no to that, so they said goodbye and went their separate ways.
The next day when the two met, he could tell there was something different about Theo. He wasn’t talking much, and when Stiles asked what happened, Theo simply told him, with an almost innexpressive voice, that the fight his parents were having got even worse as the night went on, him and his sister isolated themselves each in their own rooms, and at one point he couldn’t take listening to it anymore, and ran to the forest near the house without anyone noticing. Then he got really quiet, the expession on his face unreadable, so unlike the Theo he came to know. So Stiles panicked and started making a thousand questions, desperatley trying to get Theo to speak. All he said in response to his questions, in a attempt to make him stop, is that he didn’t have to worry about him, that he made some friends in the forest that promised to help.
This made red flags and alarms go off in Stiles’s head, and in an attempt to learn more, he asked who they were, what are their names and where are they from. Theo seemed bothered by these questions, and said harshly he couldn’t answer. When Stiles’s pushed for more information anyway, Theo told him to leave him alone and ran away.
That broke Stiles’s heart in a way he never felt before, and as Theo became more unreadable and irritable, his heart broke even more. One day, after following Theo for almost five minutes during recess time begging him to speak to him, he just turned around and said they couldn’t be friends anymore. Stiles paused for a second and started crying, and asked Theo why, to wich he said, also with tears in his eyes, that he liked him too much, and didn’t want to see Stiles hurt. He froze as Theo turned around and walked away again, both crying and with broken hearts, the words “I like you too much” echoing through Stiles’s mind, and almost involuntary, but barely above a whisper, he spoke “I like you too”.
Stiles wasn’t sure what he meant by that at the time, but looking back, he knows exactly what it is he felt for Theo.
And even after that, even after Theo said he didn’t want Stiles near him, he dindn’t give up winning Theo over. He left notes for him in his locker at every opportunity, all of them with jokes he came up himself. He would sometimes spend hours triying to come up with something that would make the other boy laugh, and he could see his jokes worked by the barely contained smile in Theo’s face as he watched from across the hall. That was all the contact he was having with Theo, but at least there was something. At least he knew Theo didn’t hate him. At least he could still see his smile.
Then one sunday night, as Stiles prepared his backpack for the next day, he noticed a note inside. His heart jumped, and when he opened it he saw that it was, as he hoped, from Theo. Stiles heart seemed to want to jump out of his chest as he read it, with Theo saying how much Stiles means to him, how happy he was that they met, and that’s he’s sorry if he hurt him, and that he’ll always remember him fondly. Stiles was a bit confused by the last part, but he was so happy that he didn’t give it much thought, because if Theo put this note into his back it could only mean that he wanted to be friends again!
He showed his dad the note, who seemed very happy for him, but didn’t let him call Theo’s house because it was already late at night. Stiles insisted, but John wouldn’t change his mind and said he would have time to talk to Theo tomorrow before class. And for the first time in his life, Stiles was excited to go to school.
But the next morning Stiles was woken up early by his dad, already dressed in his sheriff uniform, telling him he had to hurry to work, and that the reason was the police was searching for Theo’s sister who had dissapeared.
Stiles almost panicked. Tara was missing? He never had much contact with her, but she was Theo’s sister and that was more than enough to make her extremely important to him. He had to talk to Theo, he had to know if he was fine, to be there for him!
He started crying and almost yelling, asking his father so many questions at such a speed John could barely understand what his son was saying, but he understood some things, and knew how important Theo was to his son, and that was enough to know Stiles wanted him to say. So he did his best to calm his son and told him that Theo was fine, but he would be staying with his family for now. When Stiles asked if he could call Theo, John said he had spoken to the Raeken’s and apparently Theo is pretty shaken by the situation, and dosen’t want to talk to anyone for now.
Something felt very wrong to Stiles, who in an act of desperation told his dad everything he had wanted to tell about Theo’s situation for so long. How he’s friend was treated at home, how he felt, all he had been going through. John just listened to everything Stiles had to say, who was trying to make himself understood despite crying and sobbing, and assured his son he would look into it. But for now, it was important to him Stiles calmed down and trusted him that he would do everything to help his friend’s family. His dad told him he didn’t had to go to school until he felt better, seeing how this affected him, and left him with Scott’s mom, Melissa, who had a day off from her work as a nurse, and would take care of him since John had to go to the take part in the investigation immediately. It wasn’t the first time Melissa looked after Stiles, and he felt comfortable with her.
The Sheriff’s Department did everything they could, but sadly they never found Tara, but given the gathered evidence the girl was presumed dead. Her funeral was restricted to family, and even though John called the Reaken’s asking to attend after Stiles insistence, their presence was not authorized by them. And neither did they let Stiles speak to their son.
The next day Stiles decided to call Theo by himself, but it was as if the Raeken’s phone was not working, because the call never went through. Weird. So he told his dad he would go see Theo, but John told him to wait, that they had to talk, but Stiles didn’t want to talk anymore, he wanted to see Theo! He told his dad that if Theo’s parents didn’t let him see Theo, he would just do something crazy, like run past them and search the house for his friend. He’s a child and the Sheriff’s son, so what if they called the cops? He would gadly accept being grounded as long as he could be sure that Theo was fine. Before his dad had the chance to yell at him and keep him from leaving, Stiles ran towards his friend’s house as fast as he could.
But when he arrived, the house was empty. No Raeken’s, no furniture, nothing. Stiles couldn’t understand what was happening, where were they? Where’s all their stuff? Before he could think to much, he heard his father calling his name, and when he turned around he noticed his dad had taken the car and followed him. John parked and walked to his son, who had an expression of confusion and fear on his face.
John explained as calmly as he could to Stiles that the Raeken’s moved immediatly after the funeral, but no matter how he said it, he couldn’t keep Stiles from breaking down.
It felt as if the world had opened up beneath him, it was one of the worst pains he ever felt. Not in the same kind of pain he felt when his mother passed. He still feels that pain, always will, and knows no matter how used to it he gets, no pain will ever compare. And anyway, it would be stupid trying to compare both pains, they’re originated from completely different feelings. This dosen’t this dosen’t this one didn’t hurt so, so much. It’s a type of pain he never felt before. It was like someone took the part of his heart where he kept everything he had lived with Theo, every happy moment they shared, every butterfly he ever felt in his stomach when his friend laughed, and smashed it with a sledgehammer.
It took him a while, but eventually he got it. Theodore Raeken had been his first love.
“Trust me, I never thought I would see you guys again”
Theo’s voice brought him once again back to reality.
Stiles never thought that he would hear Theo’s voice again, much less see him. But even if his voice and appearence were more mature, just like his the rest of them, he could still recognize him as if they the last time they met was yesterday.
And yet, he could also notice just by looking at him that there was something wrong. Something dark. Stiles had seen his fair share of horrors, and he felt something off about him. This scares Stiles, that maybe something changed Theo for the worse. Maybe it was Tara dying, maybe it was something with his parents, maybe it had something to do with whoever he met in the forest. Maybe Stiles could have stopped it if he told his dad sooner, if he had done more. Wathever had happened, he was too different the from the last time Stiles saw of him. And not in a normal “time has passed” kind of way, something didn’t feel right.
He hoped he was wrong, that if he was different it was for the better, but something was off. He could feel it just by looking into Theo’s eyes.
“A couple months ago I found out there was na Alpha in Beacon Hills. When I found out his name was Scott McCall... I just couldn’t believe it. Not just an Alpha, a True Alpha”
‘What happenned to you Theo?’
“What do you want?”
Scott asked while still keeping his distance.
‘Yes, what do you want?’
“I came back to Beacon Hills. Back home with my family. Because I want to be a part of your pack”
Stiles paused for a moment and took a deep breath.
‘I’m sorry, I wan’t to believe you, but I can’t, not when something about you feels so out of place about you. Not after everything I’ve been through. I want to believe you’re back, that we can be friends again, but I can’t shake the feeling there’s something wrong.
Please Theo, prove me wrong.

I'm not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but there's a compilation of fight scenes with staffs, including bo staffs, from multiple movies. I'll link the video to this post, I hope it helps!
Question, does anyone know of any movies or tv shows in which people fight with bo staffs or similar weapons? I'd love to have a couple references but other than Aquaman, I honestly can't think of anything.
