after watching the first two episodes of doom at your service, i can officially say that i’m hooked. the drama works so well for me.

the drama is eerily poetical and beautifully sad.

myul mang’s character is so refreshing. asshole deity falling in love with human girl is something kdramas have given us a lot in the past, but this one feels different so far.

we see how myul mang resents his identity — he brings doom and destruction everywhere he goes, no matter what he does, yet this very identity is vital to humanity’s survival.

his existence is inherently cruel to others & to himself, which leads him to loathes both. he’s thinking of himself for the first time, he wants the world to end so he can be free — whether that means death or something else, we’re not sure yet.

and then you have dong kyung, who’s life has been nothing but unfair and cruel, who gets forced into a contract where she has to decide whether she’ll die and bring the end of the world, or live and have the person she loves the most die.

her character is really likeable to me because it is realistic and relatable. she’s human, she gets tired & has her selfish moments where she wishes fate would be as harsh on others as it has been on her. yet, myul mang decides to pick on her again.

he’s trapping her in the same horrible fate as his.

i really cannot wait to see how their love story is going to unfold, and how much more tragic this is going to get. it’s one of those dramas where you can’t help but enjoy feeling sad while watching. it’s beautiful because it’s doomed.

also, i’m really liking the music & the cinematography so far!!!!!

what if the first time vincenzo tells cha young he loves her he says it in italian and then - even though she obviously knows - she asks him for a translation and he says “it doesn’t need translating” and then boom they kiss i want it thank you very much writers i will be collecting my pay check now
