He's probably fae. Not Night Fae, but like the IRL idea of fae. Probably a fae prince or something. Like, shifty shapeshifting spellcaster with color changing hair? Sounds pretty Fae to me.

we know that Khadgar prefers to use the raven form to travel from the multiple times he uses it in various moments, and from the fact that he states so himself at the beginning of the Azsuna questline:

BUT for some reason, despite his previous statement, when flying to Karazhan in Harbringers, he used a gryphon, despite carrying Atiesh and being able to use its form instead, and which is also more problematic because he had to leave the gryphon somewhere before he went inside:

and we also know, that Khadgar has never learnt how to ride gryphons properly/physically, the skill was sorta “embedded” into his brain by Medivh’s spell, when they were getting ready to leave for Black Morass in the book and we know that using that knowledge has been also uncomfortable for Khadgar, which would explain why he doesn’t really like it and travels as a raven most of the time instead

and he still chose to ride the gryphon? also why does it even matter lol

he went to Karazhan to gather knowledge that’d help him defeat the second invasion of legion, and Medivh was basically an endless well of such knowledge

and what if Khadgar specifically chose to ride the gryphon, so it would invoke the spell’s aura? he deliberately used that skill, which was technically Medivh’s, as it was his spell and also probably his own knowledge/experience that he put into Khadgar’s brain, to basically try to attune himself to Medvh’s magic, so it’d be somewhat easier for him to detect any signs of him in Karazhan? to make himself more sensitive to any traces of Medivh
