thinking about how deliberately hoyo depicted Mikhail as not the best leader.

like they went out of their way to show that even he thinks he fucked up. a lot. like he was doing his best, yes, but Mikhail also screwed up a lot of things pretty badly because he was in over his head, but he never stopped trying. not even death stopped our beloved watchmaker from trying to make things better for people

dreamjolt memoirs was such a good way of passing this information to us, the players, too. like I absolutely despise gopher wood because of it now. like yeah, I'm sure a decent bit of things were not exactly how they happened for Mikhail for the sake of telling the story in a more digestible way, but wow. Gopher fucked up a lot of things, and Mikhail was kind of also responsible.
