Daddy’s Money pt 7
A marriage proposal gone off the hook
•25 Feb 2022•

Pairing: OT7 Hybrid!BTS x [F]Reader
Genre: Angst, comfort, Mafia AU, Hybrid AU
Warning: Slight verbal abuse, hybrid abuse/mistreatment, violence

“(Y/N)! Let’s go we don’t have time for this!” (Y/N)’s father called loudly as he and his wife stood by the front door.
“Coming!” She rushed around her room for a moment longer before she was out the door with her suitcase. All the hybrids were waiting at the top of the stairs for her, Seokjin dressed in just as fancy clothes as the humans. Namjoon had been the one who wanted to go with them to protect her but Seokjin was the most experienced with these types of fancy gatherings. And he was the only one (Y/N)’s father had approved of showing off, saying Namjoon was a mixed breed, Hobi was a street find and Yoongi had anger issues.
Seokjin smiled at her as she finally emerged from her room. She quickly hugged the other boys before Seokjin led her down the stairs. But before that, Namjoon grabbed a hold of her shoulders, successfully stopping her. He frowned worriedly at her.
“I’ll be alright, don’t worry Joon.” She soothed over his worries with a soft voice and hand coming up to stroke over his bicep with her thumb. He took a deep breath before nodding and finally letting her go.
“Finally.” Her father grumbled with a sigh as he saw her come down before they were all halfway out the door.
“Now remember I prepared dinner for the week and it’s at the bottom shelf in the fridge in those clear containers with the yellow lids- and there are leftovers you can have for lunch. Yoongi, don’t let Joonie use the stove- or the oven. Hoseokie, I left that new shampoo on the sink in the big bathroom for you.” (Y/N)’s mother rambled on as her husband helped her on with her luxurious fur coat.
“And be good.” (Y/N) teased as she pointed an accusatory finger at Yoongi. “We’re only gone a couple of days.” She smiled as Seokjin helped her and her mother with their bags out to the car while her father got it ready. Hoseok whined as his tail wagged sadly behind him.
“Oh Hobi~” (Y/N) gave him another tight hug and a kiss on the cheek. He smiled a little as his cheeks heated up.
“I’ll see you soon- and I’ll call tonight when we arrive at the hotel.” She waved as Seokjin closed the door behind them.
She sighed slightly as she stood on the front step of their house for a moment, Seokjin beside her, waiting.
“Okay. . . Let’s do this.” She smiled at Seokjin who noted with a kind smile of his own as he held out his arm for her to take. The cold had just started creeping in in the late autumn air and the ground was hard and slippery.
“You’ll do wonderfully, and I’ll be by your side the entire evening.” He reassured her as he opened the car for her.

“Ah~ sajang-nim! It’s lovely to see you this evening.” A man in a colourful suit and clear spoken dialect was quick to pick them apart from the rest of the crowd as soon as they stepped out of the car. (Y/N) smiled at the staff as they helped them with their bags while Seokjin kept close to her, scanning the luxurious main entrance.
“So this is (Y/N)ssi?” The man suddenly turned to the two after greeting her parents. She turned to look at him as his smile widened.
“It’s lovely to meet you.” He kissed the back of her hand as she smiled politely before turning back to her father. “This way my friends!” He waved for them to follow as he entered through the large glass double doors.
“This place looks expensive.” Seokjin bent down to whisper in her ear discreetly.
“I know. It’s over ₩ 1,000,000 a night. Only my dad would waste so much money.” She rolled her eyes as she whispered back. She noticed how his ears kept flicking back and forth at all the sounds of people running around.
They waited as her father got the key cards to their rooms and headed for the large elevators. They were the only ones in it except for an older man with grey hair who gave her and Seokjin a dimpled, eye crinkling smile before he exited on his floor.
“This is for your room- I’m not getting the cat his own room-“ Seokjin’s face was blank but his ears pinned back for a moment. “don’t drop them.” Her father gave her a pointed look at he handed her two of the key cards and pointed to the right door and turned to walk to their own room.
“We’re meeting some people for dinner at 8 PM so be ready.” He called before he let her mother inside their room. He cast one last glance at her over his shoulder before the door shut closed.
“Our bags should already be here.” (Y/N) smiled at Seokjin as she opened the door with a swipe of the white card. And just like she said, all their bags and suitcases were already piled up high in the hallway.
“I’m sorry, he seems to be in a mood ever since our fight.” She sighed as she took a moment to wander around the suite. The small living room had a couch facing floor to ceiling windows on two walls.
“At least we got a corner suite- better view of the water that way.” She flapped her arms against her sides as she looked out over the sea. Her face was contorted as she fell deep in thought making Seokjin chuckle with a turn of one of his rounded ears. He stood pressing his chest against her back as she leaned back instinctively. He gently brought his head down to run his nose along her shoulder up to the side of her neck. She giggled as his breath tickled her skin and ruffled the baby hairs on the edge of her hairline.
“Let’s rest before dinner.” He suggested as he started tugging her away from the window.
“I promised I’d call Joon when we arrived.” She sighed. Seokjin frowned as his ears flicked back.
“Send him a message and tell him you’ll call after your nap. He’ll understand.” He reassured while rubbing up and down her arms as she let him lead her to the bed.
“We should change.” He chuckled as the comment earned him a tiered groan. “Your father won’t like it if your dress is all wrinkled.”
“But he’ll nag your ears off if even a hair is in the wrong place. What difference does it make?”
“Come on.” He chuckled again, turning to produce some comfy clothes from one of the bags now moved to the bedroom. He swirled his finger, signalling her to turn around so he could unzip her dress. He couldn’t help but plant a soft kiss against her shoulder as the dress slipped down. His ears flicked as he heard her let out a deep breath. Not necessarily a sigh but just a deep breath of air to cool down her lungs burning with emotions tumbling around in her chest.
“Everything alright?” He held her and as she stepped out of the pool of fabric now on the floor. She nodded as she plopped down on the edge of the bed and let Seokjin hang her dress on a hanger on the bathroom door before he came over with the comfy clothes. She held her arms up in a silent demand making the male chuckle as he helped her put the soft hoodie on. He gently pushed her to lay back against the mattress as he pulled the pants over her feet.
“What would I do without you?” She thought aloud as she shuffled around in the bed for a moment to get comfortable and Seokjin moved to change as well.
“I don’t know. What would you do?” He playfully shot back as his head popped through the collar of a longs sleeved shirt he had “borrowed” from Yoongi.
“Probably starve, or die from neglect.” She sighed over dramatically as she sprawled across the length of the bed.
“I agree. Now move your neglected ass over so I can fit.” He chuckled as she groaned and rolled over with a pop of her back from the movement. He let out a sigh as he finally laid down and wrapped his arms around her.
“I don’t know. I think you would do just fine without me.” He met her concerned eyes.
“Doesn’t mean I want to.” She whispered as she carefully moved closer bit by bit.
“Doesn’t mean I’ll let you.” He whispered back with a gentle smile.
“Love you.” She mumbled as she buried her head under his chin into his neck. The cat hybrid let out a chirp of happiness before his gentle purring filled the room.
“Love you too, kitten.” He tightened his arms around her in a strong hug making her groan before she started laughing slightly.
“I love how easily you’re flustered.” She brought her hand up to his cheek, finger playing with the fussy short hairs by his human ear.
“Worldwide handsome~” Seokjin groaned.
“Don’t ever use that title again. It’s so embarrassing. I didn’t even win that title the last time I competed.” It was Seokjin’s turn to bury his head in the crook of her neck.
“You should earn up to that title. It’s something to brag about.” She grinned as his nose tickled the juncture between her shoulder and neck. His purrs quickly got louder and louder until it slowly faded out and the two fell asleep.
(Y/N) groaned as her phone went off. She had been woken up from one of the best naps in all of history, and for what? She fumbled after her phone vibrating against the nightstand for a moment before finding it. As she squinted at her bright screen she felt Seokjin curl in further against her back.
“Damn it.” She mumbled as she bit her lip. “Sorry.” A groan in response. “It’s already 7 PM.” She sat up with a groan as she stretched. “We have to get ready. And I have to call Joon.” She pressed the call button as she started digging through her bags. After a few beeps, it went through. A rustling and rumbling sound was heard before a quiet voice answered.
“Hello?” Namjoon whispered into the phone, hoping he wouldn’t wake the two other hybrids sleeping next to him in the nest. He smiled at the sight before turning his attention back to the phone.
“Hi, Joon. Just wanted to call and see how you’re doing. Have you eaten?” The question made a warm feeling bloom in the hybrid’s chest.
“Yeah, Hobi Hyung prepared it for us.” She could practically hear the giddy smile plastered on his lips making her giggle.
“Good. We’re just about to get ready for dinner with some of dad’s friends. Hopefully, we won’t be partying too hard tonight.” She grinned as she heard his carefully quiet laugh on the other end.
“Are the others sleeping?” He hummed. “Then I’ll let you get back to cuddling.”
“Wait.” Seokjin’s quiet voice in the background made hope swell in Namjoon. (Y/N) nodded and handed the phone to him with a smile, letting them talk for a while alone while she got changed in the bathroom.
“How are you holding up?” Namjoon asked, voice husky as he slowly slipped further back into the soft sheets of the nest.
“Alright.” He couldn’t help let out a tired sigh. “I’m already tired from everything- I-“
“I get it.” Namjoon stopped him from forcing the thoughts into words. “Being in a largely unknown place is draining. I wish you were able to bring a few blankets or something and not just our clothes.” He huffed frustratedly.
“It’s okay. At least I’ll be with (Y/N)- her father is letting me stay in her room.” He avoided telling him about the comment he had said upon their arrival. (Y/N) smiled as she heard them saying goodbye lovingly before she turned back to the gold-lined mirror in the bathroom. This was going to be a long night.
“Are you incapable of being on time? Will it kill you?” (Y/N)’s father gave a strained sigh as she and Seokjin came walking quickly to the elevator where her parents were waiting to ride down to the restaurant.
“Sorry.” She mumbled as she patted down her dress while the gentle cat hybrid fixed a piece of her hair. She turned and checked herself in the large mirror on one of the walls in the elevator, noticing Seokjin’s tie was slightly uneven so she turned to fix it.
“There.” She said with a smile up at him just as the elevator dinged and the doors opened to show the restaurant.
The large room had floor to ceiling windows and the tables were scarce making the atmosphere light and airy. A couple of older men were sitting by a table laughing merrily- probably catching up on lost time. Further in, close to the corner and next to the large windows, two men and a woman sat in expensive suits and hair gelled to perfection, (Y/N) was sure it wouldn’t move a hair out of place if a hurricane swept them off their feet.
“Ah-“ One of the men-the oldest- stood up and (Y/N) recognised him as Mr Yoo. She was quick to plaster on an as polite smile as possible as he grinned warmly at her after greeting her parents, reaching out to grab her hand in his warm one. He was still surprisingly gentle as he helped her sit down.
“It’s wonderful seeing you again, (Y/N)ssi.” He pats the top of her hand on the table before turning to Seokhin who stood unsurely by the chair between her and her mother.
“Sit, sit.” He chuckled as Seokjin smiled and sat down. “This is my wife, Ji Won.” He placed a loving hand on her back.
“It’s a pleasure to finally meet you.” Her smile was warm as she studied (Y/N) for a moment before turning to Seokjin. She glanced back at her again.
“He’s very handsome.” She smirked with a light giggle.
“The pleasure is all mine.” (Y/N) felt her father glance at her as she smiled. “But-“ Her father stiffened in his seat, ready to scold her. “I’m sure he can accept the compliment himself.” She nodded as she looked at Seokjin who smiled appreciatively.
“It’s alright.” He mumbled. “Thank you.” He smiled charmingly at Ji Won. Mr Yoo cleared his throat before gesturing to the other man.
“And this is my youngest son- Hyo Seop.” The young man smiled widely at her, a lot gentler than his older brother.
“Hyeongsunim.” He nodded with a smile as he bowed slightly.
“Ah! There’s no need-“ Her father cleared his throat. “Just call me (Y/N)ssi.” She glanced over at her father.
“Hmm, then Noona?” He tilted his head slightly to the side in an almost cute manner. She could barely stiffen the giggle as she smiled with a smile.
“Sure.”
“Well then! Why don’t we order something and get to business?” Mr Yoo clapped his hands loudly, making the older men over at the other table turn their heads and Seokjin’s ears flick back. He chuckled apologetically at the older men before waving down a waiter.

(Y/N) sighed as a loud banging in the door interrupted her unpacking. She was making sure all her clothes stayed wrinkle-free and nothing was missing. Her large accessory box laid on her freshly made bed with the slightly stained and well-used makeup bag next to it.
“Who is it?!” She called as she quickly tightened the belt of her robe around her waist. Her hair was still wrapped in a towel on her hair but some small pieces had escaped around her forehead and neck.
“Oh-“ She looked surprised as she opened the door to see Seokjin. “Jinnie, Everything alright? I thought you were in the bathroom.” He huffed as he pushed past her.
“I ran down to the reception to look for my missing bag remember?” He propped down on her bed making the makeup bag tip over and spill a few brushed. “Sorry.” He muttered out as he sat and watched (Y/N) continue her organising.
“Sorry- I’ve been so off since last night haven’t I? I’m not even keeping track of where you are.” She sat down with defeat next to him. He smiled as he pats her thigh.
“Don’t worry. . . I get you. I see now what you mean about Yoo-nim. It’s hard to turn someone down when they’re so friendly.” They fell quiet for a moment. “But at least you’ll have a nice family-in-law.” He tried to smile.
“Shut up.” She groaned as she fell back on the bed making Seokjin chuckle.
“All jokes aside-“ he groaned slightly as he laid down on his side next to her. “Let’s get through this night and then we’ll rest for a bit tomorrow morning before going home again.” She nodded as she thought for a moment.
“Alright.” She sighed.
“Alright.” Seokjin smiled at her as she turned to look up at the ceiling.
“Help me with my hair?” She turned her head to him with a small smile.
“Always.” He nodded and laughed loudly as she sprung up from her spot and started tugging at his arms.
“I’m not letting that girl make us late tonight too.” (Y/N)’s father sighed distractedly as he looked at his wristwatch.
“Let’s give her one more minute.” Her mother pats him on the ask with a calm smile.
“No, we’re going without her.” He turned and started walking. Her mother was quick to fall into place next to him, arm linked with his as they walked to the elevators. Turning the corner, her mother couldn’t help but smirk as her father looked ahead, baffled, at (Y/N) and Seokjin standing by the elevator doors waiting for them.
“Oh, mom, dad.” She turned at the sound of her mother’s red high heels hitting the polished floor. “We’ve been waiting.” She smiled sweetly as her father sighed defeatedly.
“At least she’s on time.” He glanced at her mother who gave a quiet giggle in the form of her shoulders shaking.
The large room was bustling with people dressed in fancy clothes and wrists and necks covered in gold and diamonds. Even the hybrids accompanying their owners were dressed up to show off but only a handful looked to enjoy the attention they were given for it. Seokjin proudly wore the diamond-clad gold collar around his neck framed by the slightly unbuttoned light blue satin shirt he was wearing. He had blushed as an older couple passing by them had complimented him and (Y/N) had giggled with an adoring smile at him.
“(Y/N)ssi, welcome welcome.” Mr Yoo walked through the crowd with two champagne glasses in hand. She smiled politely at him as he offered one to her.
“Thank you but I won’t be drinking tonight.” Seokjin declined the second glass with a nod.
“Then more for me.” Mr Yoo hummed with a chuckle as he took a sip.
“So, will the rest of your family be joining today?” (Y/N) looked around for a moment.
“Ah, yes. If I’m not mistaken my wife has already stolen your mother away.” He chuckled. “My sons should be around here somewhere.” His expression fell slightly. “Please. . . Go easy on Woong In. He is trying his best to impress you.” He pleaded. (Y/N) gave him a tight-lipped smile and a nod before they moved on to wander through the crowd.
An older man laughed loudly at his company of people as a small cat hybrid shrunk back slightly, but it seemed his collar was connected to a leash held tightly in the man’s hand.
Seokjin met the young boy's eyes as they were walking past. He gave him an apologetic smile before turning back to (Y/N) who tried to grab his attention.
“Sorry.” He mumbled as he turned to face forward.
“You don’t have to apologise she smiled at him as she pats his arm. The younger cat hybrid watched with envy as she did.
“Are you alright?”
“I’m fine Jinnie. Stop fussing.” She pats his arm again. “I’ve never been a fan of these types of gatherings.” She told him as she glanced around the room
“I see you have a more proper pet now. Did you finally decide to get rid of that mut and get a real hybrid?” Woong In’s voice called out from behind them as they stood by the windows and looked out over the water. (Y/N) took a deep breath before turning around.
“Yoo Woong In-nim.” She greeted. “This is Seokjin. And no the others are at home. Seokjin is more experienced in fancy gatherings.” She smiled politely at him. Seokjin bowed slightly. Woong In clicked his tongue before turning to the windows behind them with his hand reaching into the inner pocket of his suit. Seokjin frowned slightly as he pulled out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. He offered the open pack to (Y/N), who shook her head before he lit his own. (Y/N) sighed lightly.
“Well if you’ll excuse us, I’d like to go find my mother. Yoo Jae Myung-nim said she might be in your mother’s company?” She said as she started walking past him.
“You know-“ He said loudly as he let out a puff of smoke. “I’d appreciate it if you showed a little more effort. I can’t be the only one spending my time.” He frowned. She turned and hummed as she smiled sweetly- completely fake- at him.
“I should get going.” She said and hurried to turn back around. But Seokjin noticed as Woong In moved to grab her and grabbed his wrist in a tight grip.
“Hands off.” He almost growled. Woong In snarled back as he jerked his arm in Seokjins grip.
“Let go of me you flea-bag.”
“Jinnie let’s just go.” (Y/N) frowned as she pulled at his arm making him let go.
“Yeah, that’s right. Listen to your owner like the god pet you are!” Woong In called tauntingly as they left. (Y/N) tried holding her head high despite the stares.
“Mother.” She sighed as she finally found her mother and Yoo Ji Won by one of the tables filled with champagne glasses.
“Is something the matter?” Her mother asked worriedly as she saw her distressed daughter. (Y/N) glanced at Ji Won for a second before giving her mother a look.
“If it’s about my son, please don’t hide your discomfort for my sake.” Ji Won brushed a gentle hand over her shoulder.
“He insulted Seokjin.” She sighed angrily. “Why does he feel the need to point out every little thing they do, mom?” Her mother shared a look with Ji Won before smiling sadly at her.
“Some people are just like that sweetheart.” She sighed. “Why don’t you two get some air out by the pool?” She suggested and Seokjin nodded in agreement.
“Good idea. (Y/N)ah, let’s do that.” He said as he started tugging her towards the doors.
“If you’re ever interested in finding that hybrid a new home, you can call me.” They heard Ji Won whisper to (Y/N)’s mother.
“That won’t be necessary.” Her mother answered.
“Noona? Where are you going?” Hyo Seop asked with a worried look on his face as he saw them leaving.
“Oh, Hyo Seop-ssi. We were just getting some fresh air-“
“But the dancing will start soon.”
“I- I don’t dance.” She lied with a worried look around the room. “I’d like to step out for a moment.” Seokjin knew how much she loved dancing but that was at home in the living room with the rest of the boys and her mother playing on the piano.
The cool evening air enveloped them welcomingly as they stepped out by the pool. The darkening sky was lit up by the street lights in the city giving it a golden tone. (Y/N) sighed as she let her shoulders drop. Taking off her heels she sat down on the edge of the pool, letting her feet emerge into the water. Seokjin watched her for a moment before he sat down next to her, hugging his knees up to his chest. His tail carefully wrapped around her waist as he leaned into her side with a comforting purr. She smiled as she glanced at him before her eyes returned to the crystal clear water of the pool, letting the smile drop slowly.
“Will this ever feel not so strange. . ? Will I ever get used to the looks. . ? The way people talk? Only you don’t know what they’re saying. . .” She thought aloud. Seokjin hummed, deep in thought himself.
“I miss the boys.” She thought aloud again.
“Me too,” Seokjin answered in a warm and quiet tone, careful not to disturb the quiet hum of the city roads that filled the air, almost drowning out the bustling party inside.
“Sometimes I wish I could just disappear-“
“Don’t say that.”
“Okay- sometimes I wish I could just run away. . .” (Y/N) corrected and Seokjin let out a satisfied purr.
“Then why don’t you?” It was Seokjin’s turn to think aloud. She hummed back as she fell back to her thoughts.
A sliding of an opening door and someone clearing their throat made the two turn around quickly. They hurried to stand up as they noticed Mr Yoo.
“Enjoying yourselves?” He asked with a smile.
“Sorry for disappearing. I just needed to get some air-“ She said as she slipped on her shoes again.
“It’s alright. . . You can be honest with me, (Y/N)ssi- you know that right?” They were quiet for a moment. “I know my son has given you some trouble.” He sighed. (Y/N) looked up at him with wide eyes.
“Yoo Jae Myung-nim, I-“ He held up a hand to stop her.
“It’s okay, I know he is not the easiest man on the planet. He’s young.” (Y/N) pulled her bottom lip between her teeth.
“Yoo Jae Myung-nim. . . I can not marry your son. I’m sorry.” She bowed deeply as her hands shook. She heard Mr Yoo hum with a dry chuckle as he glanced at Seokjin.
“What?!” Someone yelled behind Mr Yoo. Woong In had come out to look for his father and had managed to exit without them noticing. (Y/N) looked over panicked at him as he stormed forward. But Mr Yoo stopped him with an arm.
“Woong In.” He said sternly but the young man glared at (Y/N) and Seokjin as she tried to come up with something to say.
“Are you sure?” Mr Yoo asked, carefully glancing at his son.
“I-“ Her heart thundered in her chest, probably so loud that Seokjin could hear it, and her breath caught in her throat as she caught a glimpse of her father watching them.
“Yes.” She said loud and clear. “I can not marry your son Yoo Jae Myung-nim.”
