It has been a few months now since Freydis has been arrested. Now, she had given birth to her bastard child, a son. And it was a spit in Ivar’s face from the Gods. In an irritated fit, he paid a visit to the father of the child and killed him. He would kill Freydis later. And he has no idea what to do with the child. 

He knows that he cannot kill it, otherwise he would have to deal with you and he had just gotten used to being without you in the Great Hall. 

One thought he has is to hand the child over to you. After all, you were the one to fight for its life to be spared. But, he doesn’t think you would care much for the child of his past wife. You also have your two other children to think of and from how he hasn’t seen his brother since you left, he thinks that you both might have your hands full with your twins. 

Ivar glances to the side to find a thrall lighting a fire in the Great Hall. “You,” he calls, making the girl jump around and fold her hands behind her as she drops her gaze to the ground. “Do you know of anyone that would want a newborn child?” he questions.

Joel and I hadn’t spoken to each other since he’d found out about Harry and I being together. I still struggled with the thought of someone being angry with me, (something, which I’d come to realise with my therapist, was left over from both Paula being a doting mother one day and ignoring me like I was an inconvenience the next, and from my marriage to Will where there were long periods of silent treatment) so I wanted nothing more than to just avoid him until he wasn’t so angry anymore. However, the meeting with Anne had gone so well, that it inspired me to put on my big girl knickers, and go speak to a man who was good to me when I needed it the most, and who I never wanted to think I’d dropped him because something better came along.
