Modern Ivar x Reader

Summary - Reader has moved into a new home after finally breaking free from a toxic relationship. She has a chance encounter which leads to her meeting Ivar.

Warnings - initial talk of an unhappy relationship and how it ended, cheating, language, mentions of drinking. Plus you may have to forgive me if I get a few things wrong when it comes to the professional advice Ivar gives reader but I did do some research and I have three furry friends myself so I have some experience caring for them.

Looking around your new home you were pretty satisfied with the progress you’d made so far. In the far corner of the room lay all the empty and flattened moving boxes you’d worked your way through. Almost every room was set up now, except for your bedroom.

My Home (Ivar x Reader)

A.N.: I can’t believe I’ve had over 6 requests for ivar stories!! I am so grateful to everyone who has requested and has commented on my stories. It means a lot!! This is a fluffy request for @supervengers03​. Hope its okay!

Summary: After a hard day, Ivar comes home for comfort from his wife

Characters: Ivar x Reader

Warnings: nothing but fluff

Ivar hadn’t felt this rundown and tired for years. He felt emotionally drained and the hushed whispers of the men as he waddled past, grasping onto his crutch for support, made him clench his jaw but do nothing. He knew he could send them to their deaths, or strike them down with his words, but today he seemed to not bother and head home. 

His men were weak and more than one day of training seemed to be needed, and Ubbe was not helping. His words were teasing and joined in with the hushed men, each doubting his abilities.

Yet, he paid no mind. He needed his wife, and walking past crowded Viking men around fires cradling horns of ales to their lips made him yearn for her even more.

Thralls nodded his way as he entered the hall, but he paid little attention; all he needed was you. Opening the door to your shared chambers, he peeked his head in, in hopes to not wake you if you lay asleep. But, there you lay. A book in hand with the furs wrapped around your body, you look up to smile at your husband. His tired eyes and stoic smile meets yours. 

“Oh, Ivar.” Getting up from the bed, you come towards him and wrap your arms around his shoulders, standing up on your tippy-toes. One hand wraps around your shoulders while the other remains on his crutch for support. Releasing from your grip, you smile up at him, “come to bed, my love.” With no sign of disproval from Ivar, you wave your hand motioning to come to bed.

On your way to the bed, you pull a few fur rugs from the nearest chair and place some more wood in the fire. Ivar sits upon your shared bed, watching your actions and taking off his crutches from his feet. Feeling a wave of happiness and warmth through his chest at your care. Turning to face him, you smile and make your way onto the opposite side of the bed.

Lying back, you rest your head up onto the wooden frame, Ivar comfortably rests his head on your chest. You run your fingers through his hair, undoing the braids, releasing the tension from his skull. Before you could massage anymore, you find Ivar’s fingers jabbing at your side, which released a fit of laughter from you. He smiles up at you as you jerk your body, but he doesn’t stop. You don’t let him continue before you jab him back, which results in a fit of laughter from Ivar. In a bundle of laughs and smiles, you rest on the side of him. Looking down at him, you bask in the sight of each other.

Ivar’s blue eyes look up at your e/c ones. You guys sit there for a while, Ivar couldn’t help but reach up and grasp your face with his hand and rub his thumb against your cheek. “You are beautiful, the Gods have blessed me,” he says softly. Your smile widens at his words before you lie back down beside him, looking up at the ceiling.

“Ivar.”

“Yes, my love?”

“I want children.” Biting your lip to hide your smile at your attempt at your question you can see in your side vision Ivar shuffling to face you. He says nothing but pinches your hips in response, you turn to look at him.

“Soon, my love.” He lies you back down and proceeds to give gentle kisses on your lips. Hands at the sides of your side, you kiss for a short time basking in his soft lips before he plops himself at your stomach. You nod at his answer, you knew this was a tough topic for him, so you leave it at that. Ivar pleased that you asked no further.

The room was silent for a while, with the muffled noises from the hall. But you paid no attention as there you two lay all night talking and laughing with Ivar who rested on you. Ivar knowing he was the luckiest man on earth. The Gods knew it too.
