I love corny fluff! đđ
They need to get to work and make sure the first part of the Seerâs prophecy comes true! đ
Forging A Heart (Ivar the Boneless) 22- Queen

Pairing: Ivar x Artemis
Word Count: 3816
Warnings: Corny fluff.
AN: As always, thanks for reading.
21- The Seer
âŠ
Beads of gold and small pearls were threaded into her hair, weaved into one large plait perfected by Geirdisâs thin fingers.
âYou look lovely, my lady.â She says, placing the pendant of Mjölnir over Artemisâs collarbone, securing it at the nape of her neck.
The lady in question did not recognize herself. The lavender water in the large bronze bowl ripples at the slight touch of her small fingers, her distorted reflection revealing kohl lined eyes and rouge colored lips.
âSheâs quite right, dear sister-in-law, as lovely as Frejya herself.â Hvitserk smiles as he walks in past the leather divider, hands clasped behind his back. Artemis turns around to look at him, smiling happily at his arrival.

A Queen behind a King Masterlist II Vikings Masterlist

The seer was right.Â
You know you shouldnât be surprised at that, but you are. The seer was right about your prophecy and about Eydisâs prophecy. You must be surprised at how quickly it all happened. Because months after settling into Fjoll, you married Eydis and became his queen.Â
Though, Kattegat is still on your mind, you know it will always be because it was your home once. You cared deeply for her people, and you still do. You can only imagine how much they must be suffering without you.Â
Those thoughts are quickly forgotten as you watch your new husband playing with the young boy on his lap, the son of a merchant family you have taken in after they lost everything in a storm. You and Eydis keep the little boy occupied as the mother and father build a new house, having told you that they have decided to stay in Fjoll because of the many opportunities the city has to offer.Â
Eydis and the boy are getting on well. The way the boy laughs makes a smile grow on your face and your heart to swell in warmth. It only makes you excited to see him with his own son one day.Â
The happy moment doesnât last and all good things come to an end.Â

Oh the forboding in that last line! No bueno!
Forging A Heart (Ivar the Boneless) 21- The Seer

Pairing: Ivar x Artemis (OFC)
Word Count:4640
Warnings: None
AN: This oneâs kinda boring, but it moves everything along.
20- Always A Hero Comes Home
âŠ
A new thrall bounces quietly about the room, lighting all the candles in the chambers now that darkness has descended over Kattegat.
Her name was Geirdis, a frightened little thing, possibly a few years younger than Artemis herself. She was dutiful, doing what was expected of her, except Artemis felt she was in no position to be giving the poor girl orders. Even now she felt a slight discomfort with her presence, knowing she could do all these simple tasks herself.
Artemis was once in her place, serving a haughty prince, but somehow, that all felt so long ago. As far as she was concerned, she was just Kattegatâs blacksmith, second only to Arvidâs father and his young apprentice. She preferred it that way as it resembled the simple life she once had. Her only privilege was that she slept beside the king, nothing out of the ordinary here in Kattegat, but something shameful where she was from.

When she lunges toward Ivar after he said she wasnât a proper queen? YASSS GIRLL! I felt that!
And then this fool is surprised she didnât want to sleep next to him after all his insults. Boy, you so dumb. Iâm glad she still didnât forgive him in the end. Heâs going to have to earn that shit.
Forging A Heart (Ivar the Boneless) 26- The Feline King

Pairing: Ivar x Artemis (OFC)
Word Count: 7903
Warnings: None. Ivar is bad at apologies.
AN: I like to imagine Ivar likes Cats. Also, this cat GIF is super cute. Longish chapter. 2 more chapters left and an epilogue.
25- Trust Issues
âŠ
âHonestly, must you both make a fool of me?â Ivar barged into the Great Hall, shooing away the mewling cats that sauntered over to greet him. His limping was more prominent than usual, as his anger encouraged the pain in his bones to flare.
Both Artemis and Hvitserk glanced at each other, surprised at the lack of anger he expressed. Ivar was angry, but it was a silent anger, and somehow that made it much more frightening.
The King carefully sits on his throne, his fingers twitching over the armrests. His eyes were sharp, a deadly blue that pierced both his wife and his older brother, but the latter merely shrugged it off, collapsing on the steps at the foot of the throne without a care in the world.

Me: I should really finish up the next part of The Stolen Queenâoh look! @xbellaxcarolinax posted a new chapter! ::forgets about anything else::
Oh I hope Ivar isnât about to act a fool (letâs be real...heâs going to) because he thinks Artemis is plotting against him. I canât believe he said he only married her because she looked lovely as a queen. Ugh, he better fix this!
Forging A Heart (Ivar the Boneless) 25- Trust Issues

Pairing: Ivar x Artemis (OFC)
Word Count: 3498
Warnings: Ivar being an ass.
24- Let Them Come
âŠ
It was eerily quiet, not at all like the yelling from earlier.
As soon as they entered the hall, Ivar stomped over to his council chambers without a second glance at anyone, Bjorn following behind him. Hvitserk remained with his two brothers as a sort of peacemaker.
The rest stayed out in the main hall, keeping warm by the large fire pit in the center. There was an awkwardness that lingered about, and Artemis wanted to defuse it immediately.
âYou may sit by the fire if youâd like. Get yourself and the children warm.â She says to Torvi. The older woman nods, guiding her babbling children to sit upon the floor. Artemis sighs, turning to see Ubbe hesitating to say something, his lips parting and closing like a hungry fish.
âArtemis,â He says finally, âIt is good to see you.â
âLikewise.â She replies with a small smile, and he nods, the corner of his lips curving upward. Even after all this time he seems to have retained his gentle heart. Before she could say anything more he heads down the corridor and into the council chambers.
