“Oh, Romeo! My handsome saviour, oh, save me!” Utahime drawled, dramatically falling onto Shoko's arms. “Juliet,” the brunette flashed an uncharacteristic cheeky grin which had Suguru snorting, “oh, Juliet, my love. I will come save you in my white horse that is as beautiful as your dog shit—”

And immediately, Utahime grimaced, pulling away from the brunette’s arms, “yeah, no.”

“Yeah,” Shoko agreed, face dropping onto their usual muscles. You and Gojo shared a brief glare before you spoke, “that's not even how the scene worked.”

“Yeah, also the main characters’ names aren't Romeo and Juliet,” Gojo thoughtfully adds. Suguru, still glued to his script, responded with a casual, "that's all the way back in grade 9th too."

“Gee, it's not my fault both of you act like you aren't married. Isn't physical intimacy normal in relationships?”

“As if you know shit about relationships,” Suguru whispered over to a snickering Gojo in which Shoko flipped them off in response.

Presently, it's been a total of five hours of incessant practising that one scene that had both you and Gojo pressed towards each other. It's supposed to come as natural as possible considering that the main characters were relaxed when it came to each other's embrace. Which.. was the total opposite of what was going on with you and Gojo.

A sigh spilled from your lips, mind absolutely blank.

2:37pm. Roughly three hours left before this practice ends and you've barely rehearsed the sheets that you've almost gotten sick over sleepless nights. Because a certain director wanted us to practice on physical fucking intimacy.

Brows furrowing, you dug deeper onto your mind for ideas, completely oblivious to the keen blue that was staring onto your form.And eventually, you are snapped away from your thoughts with a flick of someone's fingers. Which you recognize as Gojo’s with how pale two fingers can be.

“Don't use your head too much, you might run out of brain juice.”

As you were about to retort, he childishly flicked your forehead. And you sit there, dumbfounded as annoyance bubbled in your throat. “Gojo, you—”

“Toru."

You blinked, confused, “what?”

This time, his shit-eating smirk is now replaced with an annoyingly dramatic pout, “Toru. I said to call me Toru. You called me Gojo earlier too but I didn't say anything because—”

Seriously. A vein was very nearly popping on your temple when Shoko deliberately whistled a tad bit louder in the distance, “okay, okay!"

“Okay? Call me Toru.”

Staring at him dumbfoundedly with still a frown, you mindlessly muttered in a daze of ire, “Toru. Yeah, there it is. Are you happy now, Toru?”

His name feels foreign on your tongue. And yet, surprisingly, it doesn't.. feel unnecessarily unwelcomed. That, alone, makes you feel things. You don't like it.

A small smile creeps its way onto his face before he's roughly ruffling your hair, “alright then. how about we compete on whoever gets the most compliments from the director?"

Deeming your narrowed eyes and pursed lips as interest (in some way, he guesses), he swiftly adds with a wink, "whoever wins will treat the other that sushi discount three blocks down from here."

Your eyes finally lit up and a smug smile made its way into your countenance, prior fury forgotten as you stood up from the lounge chair and made your way to the crowd garnering at the front, “fine, you wash the dishes if I win.”

“What!? That's not fair!” Gojo followed in tow just beside you with a pout.

“Too bad it is.”

“It's so not.”

“It is!”

“It's so, definitely and absolutely, not!”

The setting sun painted the whole scenery a golden glow as you snaked your arm around Gojo's neck with a gleeful smile, "mhm. you were amazing back there, you know?" His hand on your waist twitched, a faint action that had you wondering if it was from your imagination before you're pulled away from your thoughts.

The taller man responded with a soft smile, akin to his character, "you're exaggerating, dear."

You hurriedly scrolled through the vivid mental script onto your mind before spotting the one line after Gojo's cheesy one, "but you were amazing, no?" Grasping your left wrist from behind his neck, you slowly leaned in to his face as bile rised up your throat and your mind blaring a red light signalling you to abort! abort! abort!

Then the director makes a booming, "cut!" that you roughly shove Gojo away from you with a scrunched expression, "oh my god. what the fuck." The bile is still stuck in your throat and you attempt to swallow it down which successfully works.

The taller man shooted you a look of betrayal and annoyance as he stood back up. Feeling a bit sorry, you offer him a small apologetic smile in return.

"That was awesome, [Name]. Definitely how I imagined it," you beam up at the director with a wide grin, "thank you!"

And so you turn to Gojo with a triumphant smirk, "I win."

He clicks his tounge, crossing his arms as he looks away, "whatever."

Haibara and Utahime immediately tackled you in a crushing hug, bombarding you with countless praises of, "oh my god, you were literally about to kiss him!" or "that's amazing, i would have barfed!" or "you were about to strangle him earlier too!"

All of which you could only respond to a sheepish thanks.

The rehearsal then ends with a navy blue painting the canvas that is the sky and you end up conversing with Shoko as the rest left to their own duties.

"You did great, you know?" Shoko smiles around her can of Sprite. You huffed, "of course! who do you think I am?"

"A dumbheaded idiot who almost burnt down her apartment at the age of 21."

Shooting her a glare, you rolled your eyes, "that was uncalled for."

The brunette chuckled, "what can I say? I'm unpredictable."

"Right."

The two of you slip in comfortable silence as the sloshing of her soda was the only audible sound amidst the ringing crickets. And as she turns to you, she asks, "how are things with.. your new house?"

You meet her eyes, "my house?"

"Yeah." and you look down on the table, unsure of what to say.

It's.. tolerable, if you were to be frank. Sure, he always wakes you up with annoying, endless beeps of the microwave or he always disrupts your concentration with his horrible voice echoing in the halls at fucking 6:27am in the damn morning.

However, he's not as bad as you thought he was going to be.

So you respond to her as casually as you can, "it's not bad."

She simply nods, as if she understood that there was more to that single sentence (which was definitely none. she's overthinking it.)

Then still in thoughts, you inadvertently murmur, "he's comfortable to be with, i guess.." And Shoko turns to you with slight surprise and mirth on her face, "oho?"

Thinking her low voice as one of your own in your mind, you continue, "somehow, i feel more at ease when i'm with him. i think he's just annoying whatever negativity i have in me whenever he picks a fight with me."

And finally, you shrugged out of your stupor before meeting her bewildered expression, "what?" she simply chuckled as she slurped her soda from the straw, "do you like him?"

There's an unreadable glint in her eyes when she asks the question. And you, being exhausted down to the bone, don't register her query for a few minutes until it finally sinks into you and you sputter with the most appalled face you can muster, "ex–fucking–cuse me?"

"Okay, now you're overreacting—"

"—No, Shoko. That's absolutely horrid. How could you ask me that?"

"Okay. Sorry. My bad, el oh el," she laughed despite your horrified face.

And before you get to calm down and ask her why would you even ask me that, she opens her mouth and waves her can of Sprite as if to dismiss the prior topic, "by the way, have your mother messaged you about you moving in with Gojo?" You flashed a brief glance to your phone propped on the table, "no."

The brunette blinked, "that's.. surprising."

"I'm sure.. at this point, she doesn't care about him anymore."

'So what was the point in all of this then? You could've chosen to be with another man instead of him,' a voice within you whispered, the sound low and deep.

Noticing your sullen slouch, she immediately switches gears and smile, "it's fine. atleast you have a candidate now, right? it would've been troublesome to meet someone new and you know, basic meeting shit. I know you hate that stuff."

A smile forms on your lips as you kept your gaze on the table, "yeah, you're right."

The chair creaks at how she suddenly stands up with a sigh, "wanna smoke?" To which you respond with an eyeroll but a fond smile remained on your face regardless.

Hours later when stars cover the inky sky in dots and you're in the car with the driver Gojo insisted in driving you home, the inane question invades your mind once again.

You reeled back into your memories, noting the obscure emotion sparking in Shoko's hazel eyes when she asked that question. There was always something about Shoko's voice that impressively remained stable no matter the situation and yet, the only flaw that tainted her impeccable acting was her eyes.

There was something sparking when she asked the question and you don't know what it was. But one thing was certain. It mattered to her when she asked the question.

So, naturally, you came up with the notion that—

Does Gojo like you?

Needles pricked at your skin uncomfortably so at the notion. Yet you persisted, anyways.

'If Gojo did like me then.. is that why him flirting with me online came easier?'

Then, you remembered a model student, from your class years ago, babbling with sobs about how he's always, always cheeky and flirty with anyone. Then, you also remember the amount of times he made you cry, intentionally or not. Then, you also remember the times you swore to hate him down to your last breath.

And, right.

Do you like him?

And your mind reels back into the hazy image of him holding your waist comfortably as you pulled him closer with your arms on his neck. Your mind reels back to when you found the golden band proudly wrapped on his fourth finger just like how his hand was on your waist. And—

No. You don't.

It's the only correct answer. Just like how 1+1 would be 2 and how the earth isn't a perfect circle. It simply is a fact.

You don't like him. And that, that is something that would not change even if you're stuck with him for a year.

Facemasks! Movie night! Mario Kart! EVERYTHING!!!

Absolutely WILL try and sabotage your Mario Kart win. He likes to push, bite, hiss… anything a younger sibling would do

He likes to play the VS races so he can continuously blue-shell you

Toge loves doing every cute couple's tiktok trends. His favorite so far is the matching nail polish to your eyes

“Honey! Honey! Salted salmon cod roe!” as Toge runs up to you pointing and grinning.

“Hold on! Stop jumping!” you giggle taking the phone from his hand. Watching the TikTok he was too excited to show you, it's a couple showing their eyes next to nail polish their partner picked out. Looking up from his phone, Toge frantically points back and forth between the two of you, practically buzzing.

“You wanna do this wi-” “SALMON SALMON SALMON!” the curse speech user cuts you off all while jumping up and down, holding your shoulders

Another trend he likes is painting your partner, he takes all the couple challenges seriously but ESPECIALLY this one

“Ugh, I hate how all these guys never try on these” Toge types and rests on your hip to read.

“Never try on what?” you reply resting your chin atop his head, stroking his hair. Toge swipes to a TikTok of a couple that painted each other and skips to the end, the man shows his painting of his s/o as her face falls, it looks more like an unflattering caricature. 

“Let's do this! Need to paint my pretty princess :3 need the love of my life immortalized in a painting” Toge types giggling into your neck

Speaking of cute couple things! He definitely makes you a highlight on Instagram. Its wither named something like “(your initial) <3333” or “my wet cat :3”

Half of the posts are .5’s of you eating or the most gorgeous images ever taken by a human

FACETIMING!!!! He might not be able to speak BUT Facetime is still fun. He likes it when you give him a haul of all the stuff you bought

Jokingly gets jealous over the fictional characters you like (getting meta here woah)

“The things I'd let that man do should be illegal,” giggling as Toge pouts, arms crossed over his chest like a child.

“Absolutely devious and heinous things,” Toge groans then pretends to cry, throwing his head in between his knees. Ignoring your dramatic boyfriend, you continue the movie.

Toge likes to keep his collar zipped up and mumble so you have to lean closer to him to hear him then pull it down and quickly kiss you

Play fighting is his all-time favorite pastime. Play fighting either means just wrestling around or picking you up and slamming you on any soft surface

Mystery box addict over here. Toge loves all mystery boxes but ESPECIALLY those Tokidoki ponies and the Sanrio ones

100% makes you guys open them together and record it

“Hi chat. We got blind boxes again,” you say holding up one of the many blind boxes you and Toge had purchased that day

“We bought so much today I don't think we have enough for groceries,” “Salmon”
