Connie x Reader Forever (Modern AU)
summary: you and Connie are roommates, and he refuses for either of you to move out and insists that you live together forever, despite not being in a relationship.

Having Connie as a roommate was mostly a lot of fun - you guys would spend your nights playing games, talking about random shit, or listening to each other's dumb conspiracy theories.
Honestly, you loved it. It was so cute when you'd get home from college and see him curled up on the sofa with your dog, Prince, both of them asleep.
It was funny how when you first moved in, Connie and Prince didn't get along well - he was terribly afraid of it and your dog wasn't too friendly to the male, he'd growl a little when Connie was around you. Now, they were literally best friends, with Prince following your roommate around and napping on his bed, and them doing all kinds of things together.
With a soft smile, you approached the sofa and brought the blanket that was falling off the side back over the male before giving Prince a couple, gentle pets.
However, once you turned and saw the plate on the coffee table, you suddenly felt a wave of irritation flood within you. Not because of the mess, but because you had a specific rule to not touch each other's food. And he obviously broke that rule.
Shooting a slight glare to the sleeping man, you padded out of the room and made way to your bedroom, changing out of your clothes and into your pyjamas. You, then, entered the kitchen to search for a snack before going back to the living room to see that Connie was stirring awake.
Gold peered at you through half-lidded eyes, his jaw unhinging to let a yawn out. "Hi, pretty."
"Good evening, sleepyhead."
"Hmm, why so formal?" he murmured, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. That's when it was clear to him that you were upset, possibly with him. "D-did I do something wrong?"
"You ate my food," you pouted, tapping his shoulder, wordlessly telling him to make space for you on the sofa. He watched you plop down beside him, glancing at the empty plate before bringing his eyes back to you.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know you were saving it. I can get you more."
With a soft sigh, you gazed at him, noticing the guilt in his vibrant hues. "... It's all right. I'm just being bratty."
"Are you sure? We can go together for dinner if you want."
"Nah, it's okay, I want to stay home."
"You're really sure?"
"Yes, Connie," you smiled at him, patting the top of his head.
"Others would've made me get them more food... You really are the best roommate I've ever had."
"You idiot, I'm the only one you've had."
"Mhm," he hummed, shifting his position so that he was able to rest his head on your lap, "and you're going to be the only one."
"Connie, I'm not living with you for the rest of my life. I'm moving out when I can."
"Nope. You're not allowed to."
You huffed, fingers subconsciously finding their way to his buzzcut. "We might as well get married if you're going to make me live with you 'forever'."
"You read my mind," he stated with so much confidence that it made you pause. Nevertheless, you continued to along with it, seeing where the conversation would end up and see if he was joking or not.
"Only if you don't steal my food again."
"I'll be making a lot of promises, but that's one I can't make."
"Then, I'm not marrying you," you retorted, lightly flicking his forehead, which made him whine.
"Well, I can change your mind in a couple years because we still have a lot to do."
"Like what?"
A little smirk tugged at his lips as he peeked his eyes open to look up at you. Without a word, he stood up and stretched before he leaned down to be eye level with you, lips hovering over yours. "Like... sharing a kiss, for example."
Even though your heart was thumping against your chest, you gave him a smirk in return, replying in a whisper, "We can easily get that out of the way."
His smirk slowly faded into an expression of surprise as he realised the position you got yourselves into, mouth parted as he simply gazed at you, searching for approval in your (E/C) hues. Once he found it, he tucked some locks behind your ear, fingers lingering on your cheek, tracing down to your chin to tilt your head up towards him. His other hand rested on the side of your neck, a gentle grip on your skin.
He watched your delicate eyelashes flutter as you lidded your eyes, anticipating the sensation of his lips against yours. And it happened, his lips finding yours in a slow, soft kiss, like he was afraid to hurt you. And honestly, he was. He's seen you come home, heartbroken because of a guy that treated you wrong. So, he hoped he was able to change that, he knew you well after living with you for a year and a half, so he knew how to treat you right.
Connie parted from you, his heart racing. It was something he's wanted to do for a while, he couldn't believe it finally happened. It felt so soft and delicate-- you are so soft and delicate. Yet, it also felt like a fire ignited within him, a fire that burned with love and passion. Just for you.
"... Does this mean we're one step closer to getting married?" he joked, breaking the silence that he knew you felt awkward in. You rolled your eyes and laughed in response, tugging at the collar of his shirt.
"Maybe. We'll see how it goes because it's way too soon to think about marriage when we haven't even been on a date. But before that, give me another kiss."
He grinned, happily complying with your request. He would wait however long he has to to be able to marry you. For now, he'd take his time, treating you better than anyone else ever did, hoping to have you forever.

Despite walking around the busy hospital with an oxygen tank to help her damaged lungs, she still muster a sarcastic comment about how his grandfather always seemed to beat her in the Japanese chess game, shogi. It was times where Yuji found himself smiling so hard seeing his sick grandfather's face light up just a bit. The depressing shade of white is spotted with color seeing the young teenage girl coming into the room with shogi pieces. โI have returned for my revenge.โ She would say as sheโs walking in the room. Her hair full of coils being tugged in a high puff so it wonโt get in her face as sheโs attempting to get her revenge.

๐ป๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ ๐จ๐ฉ๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐ฑ๐ฐ sitting outside his grandfatherโs room as the pit of sadness sits heavy at the bottom of his stomach. His grandfather died and now he was all alone in such a wicked world. He could feel someone sitting next to him. His body feels numb as ever. He didn't know what else to do as he gained looks from nurses who helped look after his grandfather.
"I finally beat him, you know?" (Y/N) questioned as she looked over at him. She adjusted the tubes that were connecting to her nose before speaking once again.
Yuji could hear her let out a laugh. His eyes that was staring holes into his red sneakers before staring at the girl next to him who's laughing. Laughing at such a time like this.
"Every time we played that damn chess game, I told him don't hold back and don't play all softly. I mean obviously, he did that considering that he beat me eight times." She says as she looked at Yuji. "But our very last game, I won. He held back just to let me finally win before he..." Her voice trails off before he could see sadness overcome those happy eyes of hers.
๐ป๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ ๐จ๐ฉ๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐ฑ๐ฐ who's now a Jujutsu Tech student (and Sukuna's vessel) and despite the challenges that have been placed in front of him, he still finds free time to visit (Y/N). Bringing her all types of gifts, food, candy, and the list goes on. When he enters her room, she's sitting in the hospital bed reading some horror manga. When she sees Yuji, she's giving him that same smile that he seems to think about a lot lately. He's tugging a chair closer to her bedside. "You're a quite busy man Yuji, I thought you forgot about me." (Y/N) would joke as she closed the book before her attention was fully on her.
"I would never forget about you (Y/N)," Yuji responded returning the kind smile that was a bit love-struck.
He liked her. He liked her a lot.
๐ป๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ ๐จ๐ฉ๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐ฑ๐ฐ who's annoying Megumi in his room. Tossing a mini ball against the wall and catching it with the other hand. He's been quite busy adjusting to his newest life as a sorcerer until his execution. He didn't have time to see (Y/N) as much as he wanted to. Occasionally calling her when the moonlight shined in his dorm room. He adored hearing her voice as she explains how the nurse that looks after her brought her this cute sweater. On other days Yuji's face is buried into his cellphone texting (Y/N), sending her funny memes to cheer her up after another day of finding out she wasn't chosen for a lung transplant. Megumi and Nobara whispered upon each other on who got Yuji smiling so hard at his phone.
His two friends knew that it was a girl in the picture, he'll spend any free time he had at the hospital to visit her even if it was only ten minutes before visiting hours were over with. However, they didn't think he was as love-struck as he was.
"If I ever like die or something, you have to go to the hospital to let her know," Yuji explained to Megumi who was sitting on his bed.
The dark-haired boy never saw Yuji so serious outside of combat of whatever mission they were assigned. Other than that Megumi would assume he only had half a brain.
"So, if shit ever hits the fan you have to go to the hospital. The pediatric floor, room 46." Yuji said, he even picked up a piece of paper and pen to write it down so Megumi won't forget.
"I just don't want her to be alone you know?" Yuji questioned as he looked at Megumi with such seriousness.
"Or think that I forgot about her." Yuji sooner adds looking at Megumi who would nod at him.
๐ป๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ ๐จ๐ฉ๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐ฑ๐ฐ going to the same hospital after watching life get drained from Junpeiโs eyes. Perhaps, he shouldn't have promised Megumi to look after (Y/N) if he was to ever die. Remembering that Megumi most likely told the girl that he died of some weird circumstances after his own heart was ripped out of his chest. Shit, that must have hurt her badly.
He's carrying the next issue of that horror manga she was reading the last time he saw her. Praying that she hasn't already gotten it already. Praying that he could see her smile again when he gave her the gift.
The jujutsu student thinks that visiting the pretty sick girl who shared a pack of candy with him could brighten his day. It may be tricky to explain to her that he's back from the dead without his other friends knowing. But he had to see her. He had to see her smile once again. As he made his way to the familiar hospital room that was once decorated for her liking, he noticed that the room lacked color and was lifeless. The led lights that decorated the ceilings, the pictures that were on the wall, and even (Y/N)โs massive book collection were gone. Yuji was thinking that maybe, just maybe she had got the lungs that she needed in order to finally go out freely to breathe in the crisp Japanese air. Or maybe they just moved her to a different room.
But as he felt a shoulder on his arm, he turned around to see the familiar nurse that looked after (Y/N). The same one who would drag (Y/N) back to her room after hanging with Yuji and his grandfather so she could undergo her daily treatment. She was the same one that would remind him that visiting hours were up and he had to let (Y/N) get her rest. Her eyes were sad. She was giving him the same look nurses gave him when his grandfather died.
โShe didnโt make it Itadori,โ Her voice was delicate and soft but felt so sharp to Yuji. "Her lungs gave out on her."
Fist clenched a little tighter as he stared at her in denial. The nurse would look at him with so much sorrow. โBut she was on the donors' list, she was so close,โ His words came out like a broken record. A terrified dreadful stutter.
โSheโs in a better place now.โ The nurse responded as she would look at the young boy.
How could she be in a better place if she wasn't with him?
