His tone leaves no room for apprehension or resistance. As much as you would prefer to desperately avoid his piercing gaze, you’ve known Ratio long enough to gauge the fact that he’s too stubborn for you to escape this situation without complying.

Your vision is blurry with the amount of tears congealing above your eyeball, but you can see Ratio’s face. His gaze is contemplative as he looks back back into your own, eyes narrowing. His opposite hand hovers near your face for a moment, almost as if to hold an unguentarium to your eyes to collect the liquid dripping out… before he shifts, placing it in front of you to where you could hold onto it.

“You’re in no condition to keep working,” he says matter-of-factly, “Grab onto me. We’re leaving.”

FLUFFTOBER EVENT day ; 6 ! ⪼ welcome to an event hosted by my mutual, @lia-loves in which me and some friends are going to be writing a couple of drabbles that fit the theme of halloween.

trick or treating is a staple among the kids during one of the entertaining times of the year—halloween. you, yourself enjoyed this seasonal speciality with your best friend Mualani, it fuels your inner child with joy.

“knock knock!” Mualani rings the bell, holding out her candy bucket with a huge grin on her face as you sheepishly hide behind her. when the door opens — you’re both greeted with an elderly woman, she shoots both of you a glare before shutting the door.

“these people are so not fun.” Mualani pouts as you both walk away from the porch. “it’s fine, let’s just try a different house.” “but at this rate we’re gonna have no candy at all.” “come on, its unlike you to be so down Mualani!”

you both banter as you look around the houses, hoping to find one that looks like they might have candy. you both then stumble upon a familiar looking house — but none of you can recall who’s.

“hey, let’s give this house a try.” you pull Mualani to the doorstep. you both wait in anticipation as you hear footsteps walking to the door and..

“Kinich?!” you were surprised to see your long-term crush open the door, why didn’t Mualani tell you he lives here? if you knew, you would have never come here for candy in the first place! this is bad, really really bad, what is he gonna think of me now, that im a childish person who actually does this stuff? i can’t look him in the eye, i—

“name, are you okay?” Mualani hovers over you as your eyes slowly flutter open. “thank god, you passed out on kinich’s doorstep you know!” she reminds you of the embarrassing moment, just as you wake up, great.

“right.. where are we?” you look around the unfamiliar place. “well, i kinda panicked when you passed out so i thought we’d stay at Kinich’s for a while. he said he doesn’t mind.” Mualani shrugs, not noticing the way your cheeks heat up. “Im gonna go steal some candy from his fridge though, see ya!”

“you—i- nevermind.” you sigh, laying back on the bed. the door suddenly opens, and Kinich enters with warm tea, gently placing it in your hand. “are you okay?” he asks, a glint of concern in his eyes.

“yeah, im fine.” you avoid his gaze. “im sorry if i scared you back there, i did not realise i appear like that to people.” Kinich apologises, making you wave your hands. “no-no, its not that at all… you’re just uh— y-you know..” you stutter at your words, your cheeks heating up again.

“you’re burning.” he touches your cheek, making your cheeks grow redder — if it was even possible. “ill go get a wet towel, wait here.” he gets up, leaving the room but faintly leaving the door open which caused your ears to perk up at a voice.

“WHERE is the great K'uhul Ajaw’s candy disappeared ?! was it you, you darned butthole!”

“shut up.”
