"I cannot believe you! I was doing my damn job!"

"Y/N, we don't send the bad guys into comas," Danny said to his girlfriend in a warning tone, which scared the living shit out of the other members of the team. Danny Rand? Being mildly infuriated? You might as well say that Sam got ahold of a bomb.

Y/N and Danny had been having a rocky couple of weeks. Y/N didn't hesitate to use her previous Widow training against their opponents, especially if they were villains who endangered the lives of others and even killed. Danny used to excuse her behavior as PTSD or just that it was all she knew being brainwashed, but it went too far this time.

"Would you have preferred that I let him kill that kid?!"

"I'm not talking to you like this. You're being unreasonable," Danny replied, his arms crossed. He preferred to have this conversation behind closed doors and not infront of his friends.

"I'm the unreasonable one?! When I kick your ass at training, annihilate Captain America's record, then I'm the perfect girlfriend!" She grabbed his arm, making him turn back at her and stop walking. He ripped off his mask, his chest slowly starting to rise and fall faster as his green eyes stared into her soul.

"What do you want from me?!"

"I'm being serious. We will talk about this later."

"Do you love me?" Y/N asked him, surprising everyone and Danny looked shocked.

"Why are you-?"

"It's a fucking yes or no question, Danny. Do you love all of me? All of the good? All of the bad?" She was tired of fighting. She knew she had issues, but those couldn't be resolved overnight. She knew she loved Danny because he had no bad parts to him, and he was the sweetest soul she had ever encountered.

The silence was tense as she stared at him, pleading with her teary eyes for him to say yes and that he was sorry. But Danny knew he couldn't lie, not to her.

"I can't do that, Y/N."

He. . .can't. It's not that he doesn't, it's that Danny Rand cannot love every flaw and every crack on her. Y/N slowly let go of his arm, pulling away both physically and mentally.

"Then I guess that means we're done," She mumbled, eyes staring into the ground as she tried to contain the tears. It felt like he had lied to her their entire relationship. Did he never love all of her? All of the broken that the Red Room had done to her? Never having a choice in life? Never being taught how to love. . .until she met him.

Maybe. . .it wasn't love.

Maybe it was never love.

"I guess so," Danny clenched his jaw, aware of how much he just hurt Y/N with his words but he needed to let her know. What she does isn't okay, and he felt like loving her was just enabling it.

Ava did her best to console her. She knew better than anyone that she truly loved Danny. Y/N rejected him the first time he asked her out simply because she was scared that if she let anyone in, they could easily walk right out. And right now, Y/N felt like she wouldn't be feeling this way if she just ignored her own feelings.

Y/N couldn't stay. She never felt like she fit in with SHIELD, but this was the icing on the cake. She knew that staying would mean having to sit through hours of mission reports just sitting far from Danny, and having to resist the urge to stare at him. Having to stop herself from playing with his blond hair, from staring at his eyes, from being near him.

And the next day, Fury had to inform the team that Y/N had abandoned ship and decided to go out on her own. That no one knew where she was going, as a Widow always knew how to cover her tracks.

All they knew was that they may never see her again.

four years later. . .

"Isn't this the third time the helicarriers have gone down?"

"Yup, but it's the first that we'll be working with the Justice League! Woo!" Sam cheered as they made their way to a telephone stand with cleat instructions from Fury.

"That was nice of them to offer up their base like that," Ava commented, "do you think they have a weight room?"

"Have you seen Superman? They'd be crazy not to," Luke said.

"We just. . .go through here?" Peter asked, looking at the telephone booth with confusion.

"I think so," Ava grabbed the instructions from him, "yeah, that's what it says."

"What an odd transportation," Danny mumbled as everyone rushed inside, immediately regretting their decision and Ava questioning why she was still with them.

"Not all at once! Idiots!"

"Someone get out! I do not want to look like this infront of Batman!"

"Guys! Guys! It's making noise!"

Their bodies fizzled as they were transported to Mt. Justice, where the team was waiting to welcome in the heroes from New York and explain where they'd be staying and the missions they might be going on.

Only for all of them to be dogpiled ontop of eachother and the first person they see is Nightwing.

"You all okay?"

"Yeah! Yeah, just. . .chilling," Sam replied as Ava shoved him off of her and immediately got up to introduce herself.

"Sorry about them, they're idiots. White Tiger, nice to meet you," She shook his hand, hoping that Black Canary wasn't there so she didn't make a fool of herself infront of her idol.

"Nightwing. Wanna meet the team?"

"Did you all go in at the same time? Blue, Robin, and I did that once. Didn't work out so well. I actually vibrated too much and I think I almost lost my arm-" Impulse immediately started ranting to the newcomers, speeding from each person to get a good look at their new roommates.

"Sorry about him. Speedster," Blue cut him off, "Blue Beetle, this is Impulse."

Luke smiled, "Fitting names. Luke Cage."

"You don't have an alias?" Robin questioned.

"Never really thought of one, and never liked the one I had-"

"Don't tell me you've started the welcome without me, babe."

Danny felt like his heart stopped. It couldn't be. He hadn't hears your voice in four years. No ones been able to find you for four years. Everyone froze as Y/N feet walked across the floor, walking past her previous teammates and towards Nightwing.

"You're late," Nightwing turned to her as she planted herself next to him, Danny in complete shock that you were only a few feet away from him.

"Sorry, had to stop Icicle Jr. from robbing a bank. Better late than never," Y/N smiled up at him before planting her lips on his. The kiss was quick and sweet, but to Danny, it felt like a lifetime.

Turning back to her old team, her hand on her hip, she finally had the courage to say,

"Hey guys, I've missed you."

Lowkey wanna make a mini-series where Y/N was in a relationship with Iron Fist, but he disagreed on her violence and anger, so they broke up and when SHIELD is forced to stay with the League while their helicarriers are getting fixed, Danny sees Y/N again but this time, she's in a relationship with Nightwing and much angst ensues.
