i fucking LOVE this post because: imagine this. you're a Roman. the Greeks come and immediately one of their leaders attacks your praetor. you and others attack the girl and end up killing her. you expect the praetor to be happy you defended him. but no. hes fucking pissed. he leaves and he declares war. no matter how much you try to work stuff out, no matter how many leaders you go to, they still prepare for war. they don't follow anyone except each other, really. their wise ones that could say 'hey, this isn't smart' aren't being wise. they're leaning into the war side of athena, because you killed their half-sister. the children of the big three are pissed at you, because how dare you kill his girlfriend, her sister, and his friend? and then in 30 years people will wonder if camp jupiter ever existed, all because of the death of one girl. idk if this is what OP meant, but this is how I see this going and I would honestly read the shit out of a story like this

the Romans were already on the brink of declaring war on the Greeks. and then a greek leader arrives and immediately attacks? nah. "they lunged to attack" no they should've attacked. judo flipping a leader was a stupid move, especially for a character who's whole thing is suppose to be "smart/intelligence." it should've started the war, and then Annabeth's injuries or death should've been the cause for camp half blood retaliating.
