ive said this before but it was on my old blog so I'm saying it again

dehumanizing abusers is not effective at doing anything other than make people think they're ontologically incapable of violence

It just reeks of not understanding:

A. The fact that fiction, even fucked up fiction, can’t hurt you unless you allow it to

B. That this was clearly based on folklore/myth, which is almost universally fucked across all cultures

C. That this was a writing exercise adapting said folklore to the world of Pokémon

D. That this was *cut* and never intended for the public to see

E. Performative “Wow! That sure is bad!”

F. In extreme cases; xenophobia (ie “omg of course this was something they did. Japan is so perverted and ontologically evil”)

Pokemon aren't real dumbass. An they're often shown to have human like intellect anyways so if u wanna get bitchy about it they can consent. The not-real monsters can consent. Happy? Like idk this entire thing is so brain rotted to me?? Also I read it and it just... It reads like a fucking myth. That's all. It's nothing insane we have shit like this in the real world too.

"Typhlosion is a pedophile??" Bruh. Also idk this all just seems so performative to me. Like wow thanks for protecting the fake anime children from the fake monsters. And also, this was a side unit thingy in Ela 30 for me, but we just discussed how in older phrasing, and depending on cultures, terms like "boy/girl" didn't signify age exactly but more so characteristics. Such as woman would describe a more matronly, wise, nurturing character and girl could refer to a character who is youthful, adventurous, maybe naive or stubborn.

If anything, I personally loved this story. I haven't played Pokemon in forever and probably won't cuz I'm not shilling 80 bucks for the quality of the current games, but this is such an interesting way to build culture in the world. Cultures need myths, legends and stories, even in fiction. It brings a depth to the world created. And honestly I still wouldn't buy a new Pokemon game but if they had this cool world building I'd watch a yt video on it lol.

But no I'm in a server of actual adults who have no media comprehension skills. I wish I could leave it without it being suspicious. "Why does Pokemon need this bestiality stuff" are you actively fucking a Pokemon in the game? No? Then what are you on about dumbass?? And it's NOT in the game?? What?? Do you even know what you're bitching about?? And like I already said it here but obvi I'd be hounded if I said it in the server but aren't like Pokemon intelligent anf sentient? Can't they consent then?? Also THEY'RE NOT REAL??

I wonder how they read Greek myths or smth lmao, imagining them hands shaking as they read that Hera is Zeus's sister or how the Minotaur was made lmao
